Hi ladies! First of all, I'm technologically impaired...so be warned. I got a new computer (it has Windows 8) and I have all of my Cameo stuff on my old one, so I'm trying to figure out how to get everything moved over. I did log in to the Silhouette site and downloaded the software, but for some reason, even though I'm logged in and my Cameo was registered, none of my purchased files show up. I know that I somehow also need to move all of the cut files that I had purchased or downloaded from places besides the Silhouette store, but don't know how to do that.
Does anyone have directions on how to do this?
Thanks so much!
Tina

Did you see that there is a Cameo master thread at the top of the General Scrapbooking threads? Maybe you can find an answer there.
I just moved my Silhouette to a different computer. You can restore/download all of your purchased files up to 3 times, so I went ahead and used that option. Everything else seemed too complicated.

Oaksong, thank you. I will try to restore my purchased files and see if that works. Will check the other thread to see if there are instructions for the rest.

If you are running the new V3 of the software, it has an export/import function now. You just export your files to a zip drive, external hard drive or whatever you have handy and then open up the software on the new computer and select import. You do need to use your user name/password on your new computer when you import - but this insures that you are importing your library - not sharing with someone else.
You can do the restore from Silhouette, but this will move over any other files that you may have installed in your Silhouette Library that are not from the SOS (Silhouette Online Store).
If you have other files that you have not installed to your Silhouette Library, you will just need to move those over to the new computer as you would any file. Don't forget your fonts. If you have fonts that you have downloaded, you will need to copy those and move them over to your new computer. They will be stored in your FONTS folder on your computer - not in the SIlhouette Studio program, unless you have purchased them from SOS.
This is a quick and easy way to move files and a GREAT way to back them up in case of a crash.
I don't use Dropbox or any other cloud service, but if you do, you could store your files there too and access them if you are on another computer and wanted to use your Studio files.
