I posted a couple weeks ago about where to stream all the episodes of Marvel's Runaways. It plays on Showcase channel here, and all the commercials say "Showcase on Demand" - but we don't have the On Demand channel with our provider.
DD was searching online through our Playstation for a link to watch it online, and we caved and decided to sign up for a Hulu free trial. $7.99/month for limited commercials - not so bad, right?
Sadly, we are not in the US, so no Hulu for us! DD's girlfriend was here, she's from Delaware, so we used her zip code. But then I got as far as the PayPal login, and it wouldn't accept it because it isn't a US registered address linked to the account.
Sigh.
We did manage to find a half decent link to watch it with good resolution, so we are almost caught up to the two episodes we watched that got us hooked!

I was thinking how did you get Hulu but you are in Ontario and maybe things are way more progressive back east. You have it better than we do. I will take our weather. Please let me know the minute you get Hulu and I will pester Shaw Cable!

My son can watch Hulu and Netflix from my account on his tv/dvr setup even though he doesn't live in the same house as us. Can you guys do that too? If you have a receiver that has it? We can with Netflix - our middle DD is 3 hours away at school and uses the family login for Netflix to watch there. The only reason we wanted Hulu was for Runaways - and we found a high def link to watch them from, it was a really good picture, so we are happy!

cakediva - I mean if your US friend would agree, you use her account and pay her for that usage? But nevermind, if you have a solution without it. Ah - I don't think she has Hulu back home. She lives here and goes to school with DD. We just used her postal code for the free month trial - but it still wanted a US PayPal. Sigh! But thanks!

Even with a US account, you would still need to go through a VPN to play Hulu in Canada. I know Netflix has cracked down on most of the larger VPN providers but I am not sure about Hulu. I tried Hulu a few times, but it had commercials and annoyed me

We can use our Netflix account in Canada and the US, but the content is different in each country based on the IP address of the device we are using. If Hulu isn't a service that is available in Canada yet, you have to mask your IPN by using a VPN. This gives a bit more of an explanation. what is my IP address

Can you get it through Amazon in Canada? I just got an email today about Starz, HBO, and Showtime channels being available for subscription, besides others.

We can with Netflix. We have Hulu Live since we cut cable and I pay for unlimited screens so we can each watch it on whatever device we choose at home and my mom can watch it on her Kindle when she visits down South. I think the terms are unlimited screens that originate from your home internet and up to 3 screens that are accessing from another location. So far, we haven't gotten the extra DVR space, but I'm sure we're headed that way. I just realized last week that DH had not yet found out about how to really use the live features and he had not accessed the DVR at all. Once I showed him that, LOL, I knew my time of owning all the DVR space was over. Even with all the extras, we will save quite a bit from what we paid for cable and Tivo service. Marcy

Marcy How do you like the Hulu live? Does it buffer often? We have DirectTV now for live and it buffers a ton. Most of the reviews that I read said that Hulu Live wasn’t much better.

So far, it’s not been a problem with the buffering. The few times we’ve experienced it, there was slow down on all our systems that were accessing the web including those not connecting to Hulu. Once my DH started using it, I expected some delays, but nothing really, so far.
