I want to try one but I am intimidated. Tell me about yours please. What do you put in it? Can they fall apart if i stuff them too much? Should I treat it more than a planner than a small "diary/scrapbook"? Any tips?

It can be anything you want it to be. Planner, journal, scrapbooking, notebook... YouTube and Pinterest will give you lots of ideas. And before you buy your first one: cut paper in different sizes to see which one works for you. And no, they won’t fall apart.

What I like about them is that they can be anything. I tried using mine for bullet journaling and to-do lists and habit trackers for a while, so planner people could come at it from that angle. At the moment, I scrap small photos and art journal into mine just like any other small scrapbook or art journal, so it works from that angle too. I haven't had any problems with them falling apart as long as they were stitched. Some of my hand-made stapled booklets pop a staple once I get them a couple of inches thick, but that's really my fault for using too many sheets and trying to add too much heft to individual pages. As long as the ones I make are stitched with a reasonable number of sheets, and I don't use chipboard on every single page, I'm fine. miominmio is right, just fall down the YouTube/Pinterest rabbit hole and search for what people are doing with them and you'll find something that grabs you. And you can easily make a cover with felt or plastic to test out sizes. I started out with a personal size for bullet journaling and changed to a standard size this month and like it a lot better for the kind of scrapping I've evolved into.

i like them more in the junk journal style. i like a few pocket pages. i like a mix of lined, plain, and patterned pages. i love using mini staplers to attach stuff to the pages. i think i trust those more than washi tape.

Thank you peas! I think I will attempt to make one of my own. I like the smash books from way back when (we did something like that in high school) but then I just quit them for some reason. I need something a little different/ new that won't break the bank.
