He's coming to Baltimore in May and I want to go. DH has zero interest and thinks I'm nuts. Yes, he's way older than my generation, but he has a lot of fun songs and one of the things I've been trying to do is see 'greats' before they stop touring or just die on us altogether.
Have you seen him in concert? Worth it? I may just invite a friend so we can enjoy ourselves instead of having a bellyaching spouse. I've gone to all his big hair band concerts and big dj concerts. If I never have to remember hearing Motley Crue singing "Girls, Girls, Girls" with a spinning drummer again, I'll be a happy woman.

No, but I didn't know he was touring. DH tends to fake serenade me with some of his songs so I'm sure he'd love to see him. I get what you're saying about seeing acts while you can. I actually feel that way about younger acts too because each tour often highlights a particular album. And plays. They're popular for a while and then some of them are gone. Still regret not seeing some, like Wicked, I always thought I'd have another opportunity.

never seen him, but I love, love, love his voice! I think he'd be fun to see in concert. (I'm too young to actually be in his fan base, but I found him somehow when I started getting into Elvis and Vegas lounge singer-type music in my late 20s.)

Then you would love DH, as that's what I get serenaded with. It's a full body thing, he's such a dork ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/W4b_Om5roEadLiOzGo_l.jpg) You should have seen him when we went to a Wayne Newton show in Vegas!

Way back in the day, my jazz dance class did a routine to It's Not Unusual and the muscle memory is so great that 45 or so years later I break into the dance when I hear him sing. I no longer wear the baby blue leotard and silver sequin trimmed, blue satin hot pants though. I've always loved Tom Jones' voice and would happily spend an evening listening to She's A Lady, What's New Pussycat, Delilah, Green Green Grass of Home, I Who Have Nothing, Say You'll Stay Until Tomorrow and Kiss. I do picture him as a young man from his early 70s TV show when I hear him though and I'm not sure I want to replace that visual.

I'm not sure I want to replace that visual. good point, lol! his voice is really velvety... I remember being quite surprised the first time I heard him actually SPEAK, since I had no idea he was Welsh-- you can't tell from his singing voice at all. I seem to remember watching a documentary about him where he talked about ladies in the audience throwing their underwear at him... that might look quite different today, if the average age of the ladies in his audience has grown older along with him, lol!

I saw him in concert about a hundred years ago. ![](http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r481/2peasrefugees/Smilies/giggle.gif) The concert was fun as I remember it. Many, many women liked it enough to throw sexy undies to him. I can not picture what his concert would be like these days.

I say grab a girlfriend and go! I would like to see him - and if you think the visual will not be up to your expectations get seats further back. ![(rofl)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/rofl.png) I've heard he still does a great show. Maybe ladies now throw their granny panties instead of sexy panties.

Oh my, back in the day, he was all that and a bag of chips!! My girlfriend and I saw him several times... the man could (and can still) sing and move. Yes, the underwear flew on stage! I have no idea what kind of show he puts on now, but they used to be spectacular... and drool worthy!

Haven't seen him in concert but a friend's mom was president of the local fan club back in the 70's when I lived in Baton Rouge. When I first met her she was all Tom this and Tom that so my boyfriend whispered to me that she was talking about Tom Jones. That's all she ever talked about to the point of it being embarrassing. She flew all over the country to see him.

My husband is Welsh and grew up in a little town just down the road from Tom Jones. I love his music from the 60s along with "Sex Bomb" and an album he did with lots of famous people in the 90's. We saw him in concert 2016 and we loved it. His voice is amazing, stage performance was great. There were a few " biblical" type songs that appeared to be on a recent CD?? but he definitely sang all his old favourites. Definitely go- you will have a great night! During the last few years we have made a real effort to go and see people even if they aren't our absolute favourites. I'll always feel sad that I had tickets for George Michael - he cancelled due to illness and never rescheduled. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/mYSUyHtG9Jrcmm_ydVcK.jpg) Our Rolling Stones tickets were ALSO cancelled- when his girlfriend died unexpectedly. They DID return months later and it was an amazing concert. Given Neil Diamonds' cancellation in our town right now due to his Parkinson's disease, I'm so glad I saw him a few years ago. Corinne

GO! He’s not my cup of tea - I thought his gyrations were ridiculous in the 60s - but his voice is still great and I wouldn’t turn a ticket down. He’s one of the judges on The Voice here and occasionally the judges start singing. He’s absolutely still got it and can belt out a tune. He’s either just had a hip replacement or is waiting for one so there won’t be much gyrating. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

Well since you're practically twisting my arm...I'm buying tickets!
DH has enjoyed the other 'great' or 'classic' acts we've seen. He even loved seeing Elton John though he's not a fan. He loved Tony Bennett. He thought Cher would be for the people watching only, but he had a great time (that was eons ago). He fussed about paying so much to see Carol Burnett, but he laughed so hard he had tears streaming down his face. Men are weird.

He’s absolutely still got it and can belt out a tune I agree. His voice is still strong and not 'past it's best' as sometimes happens. I hope you have a great time ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg)

I agree. His voice is still strong and not 'past it's best' as sometimes happens. I remember, when he first hit the scene, the critics said he would lose his voice because he 'abused' it with his powerful singing. Ha! I guess he's shown them!

I saw him interviewed once and he was explaining how he looked after his voice. He took it very seriously and has done for years.

I would go see him. I love his voice. I use to watch his show when I was a kid. I love when he goes remakes, like Prices' song Kiss.

My older sister and I saw him a few years ago. It was so much fun! He sang all his hits and the crowd loved him. He still sounded great. My sister cried thru the whole show because she was so excited. ![(rofl)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/rofl.png) Go - you'll have a blast.
