I've been using protein powder for a breakfast shake, and I really like it. The powder I have been using is Isagenix that a friend gave me free to try. I actually do like it, but when I looked up ordering a canister, it is expensive! !
I did a search here, and the last thread about protein powder was over a year ago, so I was wondering if the peas could give me some recommendations for a good protein powder to try. I have been using vanilla powder, and blending it with almond milk and fresh fruit.
What protein powder do you use, and where do you get it? Thanks!

I like the Jay Robb Protein Powder in chocolate. I make it with almond milk and put some strawberries and bananas in it. So good!

I like Vega. It's vegan and turns everything green, but it tastes good compared to a lot of other powders.

My DH likes one from Costco. He said it does have sugar in it but that's why he can drink it.

Syntha6 - it's known for being one of the best tasting protein powders available. I buy it from Vitamin Shoppe (online or local) and it runs about $28ish for a jug that lasts me a month. I make a protein shake every day for lunch.

I am using American Gainz right now. It has no fillers, sugar, or gluten. I order it from Amazon, but you can also order directly from their website. But, it is expensive.

I also use the Syntha6. I like the chocolate peanut butter and my DH likes the vanilla ice cream and chocolate cake batter. I am pretty sure he gets it on Amazon but it available at GNC, Walmart, BJs, etc. www.gobsn.com/where_to_buy.html

I use the Trim Healthy Mama protein powder. It tastes great and has pure ingredients and processing methods. You can order it on their website. I mostly use chocolate in my shakes but they have a strawberry That my kids like mixed with milk to make strawberry milk. There is also an unflavored version that is good in other recipes and if you want to flavor your shakes yourself. Before the THM powder I was using Vega essentials from target and liked it as well. It has more other ingredients like omega 3’s and veggies. But I like the taste of the THM a little better and am used to that now.

I like the Muscle Pharm 100% Isolate Protein Powder in the vanilla ice cream flavor. It's good on it's own, but better even better with almond milk or made into a smoothie with yogurt and fruit.

I like Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides - it’s flavorless and can be added to hot or cold beverages.

I use half a scoop of this egg white protein and half a scoop of this whey protein. I mix with almond, coconut or skim milk adding chia seeds and fruit. I get both of them at swanson vitmains.

I get the 100% whey protein isolate from the bulk bins at Sprouts. The price is good and I don't have to buy very much at a time.

DH and I like Anovite's Leptitrim powder. They have it in chocolate and vanilla, and each serving has 27 g of protein, with vitamins, minerals, etc, etc. It also has cow colostrum in it, so it's great for allergies, gut issues, and things like that. I like the chocolate with a frozen banana and soy/coconut/almond/regular milk (whichever I have on hand). A big jar of it (almost 2 pounds) is $40-45 plus tax/shipping.

I'm curious why you use protein powder. I make smoothies and throw some chia seeds in, but have never considered protein powder.

I'm curious why you use protein powder. I make smoothies and throw some chia seeds in, but have never considered protein powder. For me, I stay full longer. I have also found that, for me, if I have a higher protein breakfast, it really cuts the afternoon snacking urge. I have made shakes without protein powder, but I seem to get hungry faster after I have them.

Labrada Lean Pro 8 in vanilla- I order it from bodybuilding.com. It does have 13g of carbs per scoop- but so good.

I like the idea of filling up on protein. I've never tried adding protein to my smoothies. Are they any negatives to using them? Weird chemicals? Not sure about chemicals but if you don’t need the protein (because you’re getting enough from other sources in the day), protein supplements can be harmful to your liver. But overconsumption of anything is bad for you, of course.

I like the idea of filling up on protein. I've never tried adding protein to my smoothies. Are they any negatives to using them? Weird chemicals? You really have to look at ingredient labels, as some have far more ingredients than others. One of the problems I'm running into looking at the ingredient labels, is so many companies use proprietary blends, where they just call it that and don't list what chemicals are actually in it. And as the other poster said, too much protein can be a bad thing as well. Thank you for all the recommendations! I was hoping the peas could lead me to a clear winner, but you have given me a lot of different options to look into.
