linkWhen it was first found out that Hillary Clinton had used her own server for work emails all hell broke lose that she was putting this country at risk blah blah blah. Leading the charge were the Republicans in Congress. To the point that when the FBI determined there was no “intent” on Hillary’s part to put classified information at risk members of Congress screamed cover up. Fast forward to now. Ryan along with Nunes worked out a deal with the FBI that the FBI would release information to Nunes, that they normally would release for a lot of reasons, as long as it was kept classified. So what did Nunes do with this information. He wrote a cherry picked document that he claims shows the FBI was corrupt. When the FBI asked for a copy of the document Nunes wouldn’t give it them. However he shared it with a huge number of GOP members in the House. Their intent was to release this document that showed how corrupt the FBI was. When GOP members of the Senate asked to see this document Nunes wouldn’t give them a copy either. What Nunes is trying to do, with the help of the Russian nots, is whip up the public so they demand to see this document like what what happened with the Fusion transcripts. It’s being done solely for the intent to discredit the FBI and the Mueller investigation. Now we have the DOJ writing the letter outlined in this Washington Post article. Two points. 1. I guess the members of the GOP only get outraged if they think the Democrats may be putting classified information at risk. If they do it, it’s no biggie for a righteous reason like protecting trump. 2. Nunes’s actions along with other GOP members supporting him in releasing this cherry picked document to the public shows “intent” to put classified information at risk. Washington Post. “ The Justice Department stands up to a reckless Republican” From the article... “On Thursday, Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd — a political appointee — sent off a letter to the conspiracy addicted Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Callif.). CNN reported: The Justice Department warned Wednesday that it “would be extraordinarily reckless” for the House intelligence Committee to release a classified memo publicly “without giving the Department and the FBI the opportunity to review the memorandum,” and to “advise” on possible harm to national security and ongoing investigations from its public release. … The letter asks “why the Committee would possibly seek to disclose classified and law enforcement sensitive information without first consulting with the relevant members of the intelligence community.”Boyd wrote that the Justice Department has turned over more than 1,000 pages of classified documents to the committee “relating to the FBI’s relationship, if any, with a source and its reliance, if any, on information provided by that source.” The memo in question is one drafted by Nunes, one he refuses to show his fellow committee members and which is now the subject of an active social media campaign (#ReleaseTheMemo) led in part by Russian-related Twitter accounts.”

I have seen articles, but not the letter from DOJ... Nunes has been an issue for too long and no one stops him! Grassley calls for release of transcripts from interviews linked to Trump Tower meetingBY AVERY ANAPOL - 01/25/18 10:56 AM EST Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is calling for the Senate Judiciary Committee to publicly release the transcripts of interviews related to the 2016 Trump Tower meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer. Grassley, the chairman of the committee, said Thursday that he believes the committee’s interviews related to the meeting are “complete,” and so the completed witness interviews should be made public. “I have said all along that I favor as much transparency as possible in our investigations, but at the appropriate time, so we don’t undermine our work,” he said, according to NBC News. thehill.com/homenews/senate/370670-grassley-calls-for-release-of-transcripts-from-interviews-linked-to-trump-jrMy report is bigger then your report, so I'm showing them to every one!! Who cares what Mueller is doing and we spill the beans and wreck his investigation!!

If the information is that damning, having the intelligence committee look it over to make sure classified information is removed won't change that. Showing the source material used won't change that, and in fact should only support your report. It makes it appear that the real reason they don't want either of these things done is to completely control the narrative to their point of view.

I was half watching MSNBC and one of the guests was saying he had never seen anything like what Nunes is doing specifically and the GOP in Congress are doing in general. He said it’s like McCarthyism where McCarthy would hold up a piece of paper with names on it and in reality there were no names on the piece of paper.
So of course I had to look it up.
Made a couple of changes...

Like it or not they need to realize that many unskilled workers are needed. and on the other hand, or speaking out the other side of their mouths, they say "immigrants take Americans' jobs!" So yeah, only allow highly skilled or those "of merit" to immigrate- see what jobs they take. Who will be doing the harvesting etc that we don't want to do now?

From the largest paper in Nunes’s area The Fresno Bee...
“Rep. Devin Nunes, Trump’s stooge, attacks FBI”
What, pray tell, does Rep. Devin Nunes think he’s doing by waving around a secret memo attacking the FBI, the nation’s premier law enforcement agency?
He certainly isn’t representing his Central Valley constituents or Californians, who care much more about health care, jobs and, yes, protecting Dreamers than about the latest conspiracy theory.
Instead, he’s doing dirty work for House Republican leaders trying to protect President Donald Trump in the Russia investigation.
It’s no accident that this latest attempt to discredit the FBI and distract the public is happening at the same time special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe appears to be picking up steam – and focusing on possible obstruction of justice by the president.
Reports this week say that Mueller’s team has interviewed former FBI Director James Comey – fired by Trump over the Russia probe – and Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who recused himself from the investigation. Reports also say that Mueller wants to soon interview Trump about the dismissal of Comey, as well as the firing of former national security adviser Michael Flynn, who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI and is cooperating with investigators.
Trump said Wednesday he’s willing to talk to Mueller under oath, subject to advice from his lawyers, of course. But he also suggested he’s being accused of obstruction because he’s “fighting back” against unfair allegations of collusion between his campaign and Russia.
There are reasons to be very skeptical of this memo. The FBI hasn’t been sent a copy or given a chance to respond. Democrats who have seen it, including Rep. Adam Schiff of Burbank, say it’s full of inaccuracies and innuendo. And the social media campaign #ReleaseTheMemo may be promoted by Russian-linked bots, just as during the 2016 campaign.
Nunes’s office did not respond Wednesday to our questions about the memo. But the Justice Department wrote to him, warning that it would be “extraordinarily reckless” to release the memo without any review for possible risk to national security or ongoing investigations.
While the FBI has overstepped during its history (for instance the COINTELPRO operations against political dissidents during J. Edgar Hoover’s tenure), it is supremely ironic that the GOP – which long has proclaimed itself the party of law and order – is serving to undermine public trust in agents who risk their lives, combat organized crime, ferret out public corruption and protect us against terrorism.
We also can’t forget that Republicans defended the FBI when Democrats criticized Comey last year for reopening the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails just before the election.
But now we’re supposed to believe some Republicans that there’s some kind of anti-Trump “secret society” within the FBI? It’s ridiculous.
Everyone – Republicans, Democrats, advocacy groups on all sides and the media – should do our democracy a favor: Stop with the hyperventilating and let Mueller finish his investigation and get to the truth. “
Ouch!

linkThe memo in question is the Nunes, very cherrypick memo of classified information. It would appear trump may be getting a little desperate. The Washington Post... “Trump sought release of classified Russia memo, putting him at odds with Justice Department”
From the article.... On Wednesday, as Republicans were clamoring to make public a secret document that they think will undercut the investigation into Russian meddling, President Trump made clear his desire: release the memo. Trump's directive was at odds with his own Justice Department, which had warned that releasing the classified memo written by congressional Republicans would be "extraordinarily reckless" without an official review. Nevertheless, White House chief of staff John F. Kelly relayed the president's view to Attorney General Jeff Sessions — though the decision to release the document ultimately lies with Congress. Kelly and Sessions spoke twice that day — in person during a small-group afternoon meeting and in a phone call later that evening, and Kelly conveyed Trump's desire, a senior administration official said. Trump and his Republican allies have placed special emphasis on the classified memo, which was written by staff for House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) and suggests that the FBI may have relied on politically motivated or questionable sources to justify its request for a secret surveillance warrant in the investigation's early phase. Democrats have characterized the memo as misleading talking points designed to smear the FBI and said it inaccurately summarizes investigative materials that are also classified. Trump "is inclined to have that released just because it will shed light," said a senior administration official who was speaking on the condition of anonymity to recount private conversations. "Apparently all the rumors are that it will shed light, it will help the investigators come to a conclusion." The intervention with Sessions, which has not previously been reported, marked another example of the president's year-long attempts to shape and influence an investigation that is fundamentally outside his control. Trump, appearing frustrated and at times angry, has complained to confidants and aides in recent weeks that he does not understand why he cannot simply give orders to "my guys" at what he sometimes calls the "Trump Justice Department," two people familiar with the president's comments said. Such complaints, and Trump's repeated attempts to pressure senior law enforcement officials through firings or other means, has now become one of the main focuses of the investigation — including an order last summer to fire special counsel Robert S. Mueller III that prompted White House counsel Donald McGahn to threaten to quit before Trump backed down. Trump recently revived his complaints that Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein was not properly supervising Mueller's probe and suggested he should fire Rosenstein — a highly controversial action against the person officially overseeing the special counsel's investigation, an adviser who speaks frequently with Trump said. The president also made clear in recent days that he hopes new questions facing the investigation allow him or his associates to make changes at the Justice Department, two people familiar with Trump's comments said. The president has told close advisers that the memo is starting to make people realize how the FBI and the Mueller probe is biased against him and that it could provide him with grounds for either firing or forcing Rosenstein to leave, according to one person familiar with his remarks. He has privately derided Rosenstein as "the Democrat from Baltimore." Rosenstein is not a Democrat. He was appointed as a U.S. attorney in Maryland by President George W. Bush and later renominated for that post by President Barack Obama. One senior White House official said he personally had not heard the president make comments about getting rid of Rosenstein, which were first reported by CNN. A spokesman for the Justice Department declined to comment. As Mueller narrows his probe — homing in on the ways Trump may have tried to impede the Russia investigation — a common thread ties many of the incidents together: A president accustomed to functioning as the executive of a private family business who does not seem to understand that his subordinates have sworn an oath to the Constitution rather than to him. On Wednesday, speaking briefly to reporters, Trump defended his actions in the probe as "fighting back" against unfair allegations. "Oh, well, 'Did he fight back?' " Trump said. "You fight back, 'Oh, it's obstruction.' " The Russia probe has also figured prominently in Trump's souring relationships with some former allies and confidants. Trump first became enraged with Sessions after the attorney general recused himself from overseeing the Russia investigation, which Trump thinks led to the appointment of Mueller. Later, after his former chief strategist, Stephen K. Bannon, accused Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, of a "treasonous" and "unpatriotic" meeting with a Russian lawyer in a new book, the furious president cast Bannon out of his orbit, as
