I'm thinking that this year might not be so bad, we live near sea world and she usually tremors when they go off nightly in the summer but this year she hasn't, so maybe she's getting deaf, that or the fact that she's on tramadol for arthritis means she's out of it and doesn't care?

I am already in the thick of things. My house has been constant barking for about 2 weeks now. And if that wasn't bad enough, we can't even go outside for fear of Boomer's barking annoying the neighbors. Probably doesn't help my poor guy that some idiots in the neighborhood think its ok to let off professional grade fireworks in the neighborhood.

This is the first time we've owned a puppy (well, any animal!) over the 4th, so I wouldn't have thought about it! I think we're ok, because we're in the city- no fireworks allowed inside city limits. But if they were, he'd FREAK OUT, of this I'm 100% positive!

We had only 1 dog last year and he could not have cared less. We now have 2 dogs though and this one barks at a fly landing on a tree 3 houses down. This sets off the first dog so I am sure it will be nuts here this year.

The two big dogs hate fireworks and thunder. The older of the two will sometimes shake and drool, so we have to give her Valium. The medium dog, much younger could care less.
They will not go out or will I let them out when there are fireworks. They are Greyhounds and it is too risky that they will panic and hurt themselves trying to escape and go over the fence or run into a tree.
Not in the spirit of the holiday, but I hope it rains.
