I would be worried about ordering a dress over the Internet when you are not familiar w/ the company and only have two months until the wedding. I think I would start shopping at brick and mortar stores or order some dresses from stores where I knew returns were easy! As much as I love this dress I’m ditching it because of the company. I will stick to the ones I know have easy return policies. I live in the sticks so online shopping is an easier option. Maybe look in to renting at a place like Rent the Runway as another option.

Nordstroms or Lord & Taylor have a great selection of MOB/MOG appropriate dresses. My mom got hers at Macy's back in the day. Bridal shops didn't really have samples in her size and she didn't want to buy a dress that she hadn't actually tried on.

What happened to the other dress you chose? ( the one similar to your friends dress) I REALLY. Liked that one!

I was told by the peas the mother of the groom wears taupe... I have never heard that! I am so pale taupe or champagne would wash me out! I think the rule that the MOB picks the color of her dress first has been in the etiquette books for a long, long time. However, if the MOB and MOG don't care if they are wearing the same color, then that's great. When I was the maid of honor in a wedding, I wore the exact same dress as the mother of the bride. She liked mine so much, she asked if it was okay if she bought one. I didn't care. It was nice it could also be worn outside of a wedding too. I'd rather have dresses that are part of the wedding colors. p.s. If you want the entire family to coordinate, make sure they all know. ->> only family who was NOT told to wear black, red, and white.

My sister bought something from China and paid for her specific measurements. I can tell you she was out over $200. It was just horrible!!! Google dresses made in China and you'll see some scary stuff. It doesn't look anything like what the website shows you. I mean NOTHING like it. The Post did an expose on that a year or so ago and it was funny to read. The problem is that it's tempting when you see all the cool dresses and styles these sites have. I also want to second Nordstrom's and L&T. They have people there who will fit you into a dress. My sister found one that was so spectacular for her. She's a little overweight and was stressed about that and the dress she got emphasized her rather than the dress and she looked wonderful. She did it again for her next two kids and each time she had a different dress that was impressive and for not much more money than you're looking at. I think she chose a pale green (almost grey green - so pretty), grey-purple and electric blue. All looked wonderful. Good luck!!!

I love the dress, I think the style is perfect for MOG. I absolutely do not think you should have to wear beige, that is bullshit in my opinion. I thought that comment was more a metaphor - don't wear anything that is going to stand out. Wear a colour that suits you and you think will fit in with the colour scheme.

It’s very pretty but taupe and champagne sound a bit...dull? I was told by the peas the mother of the groom wears taupe...
Yes, I know that's what the Peas say. However, does the bride have a preference? To answer your question, I love the dress. I think it will look great on you. Do you look good in taupe or champagne? I have 2 sons and no daughters. When/if my son's marry I hope to be able to wear a color other than taupe or champagne. Neither of those colors looks good on me. Of course, I'll consult with my future DIL before choosing a dress color.

WARNING
I recently attended a wedding where the MOB wore champagne and the bridesmaids wore blush.
Everyone looked naked.
Everyone looks naked in all of the photographs.
It will forever be The Naked Wedding in my mind.
I spent the entire ceremony staring at one bridesmaid in particular because I could not tell where her dress ended and her skin began.
They are a very conservative religious family and would be mortified to know how many people are referring to this as The Naked Wedding behind their backs.
If you are a white woman, anything in the beige, taupe, champagne, blush family is DANGEROUSLY close to skin tone.
SUCH A BAD IDEA. NOT A GOOD LOOK.

Yes, I know that's what the Peas say. However, does the bride have a preference? Well the first time I asked for her preference she said pink which is what the bridesmaids are wearing...I didn't ask again because I am not wearing pink no matter what.

Nordstrom's is my go to for dresses so I ordered 3 from there last night. They were in the slate grey/navy color so totally not what I originally was looking for. At this point I want something that looks good on me more than the color choice (no, I won't go with white or black not matter how amazing I look in it)

Be very careful ordering from JJshouse. Quality isn't exactly what you expect when you receive the dresses! DDs Bridesmaids dresses came from there. Promised ship time was 3-4 weeks, it was 3 months and it was shipped from China. We had to alter the dresses which in itself isn't terrible, but the quality of material made it hard for the seamstress to do her best work.
And, even though I finally got a refund, I was charged custom fees.
ETA: I should have read the rest of the thread but after I saw your comment I had to say something. Glad you decided against this manufacturer!
