So... I have a Cricut Expression 2, and a Gypsy. I haven't scrapped in years (obviously, by my lack of updated machinery! lol).
I am planning, hoping, dreaming about getting a Cricut Explore Air (is that the latest one before the "maker"?). In preparation for that, I need to "link" all of my carts/gypsy to Cricut Craft Room (or whatever it's called now). My machines won't "link" up though! I can't even get the Craftroom thing to install on my computer. It keeps telling me I need to download Adobe Flash 10.0 or higher... did that... still won't work. It keeps giving me some error message about the "installer" being broken. Huh??
Anybody have any words of wisdom? I have a butt-ton of carts that I need to get on there... I'm so frustrated...

I know it sounds stupid, but did you turn everything off and back on again? I have no tech help to offer, but sometimes the updates need a restart.

I think it is now called Cricut Design Space. Is that where you are go or are you going to Craft Room?

I think you can update your gypsy and link the cartridges that way. If your Gypsy is dead, there is still a way. Do you still have the physical cartridges? If you do, then you can take photos of the cartridges and send them to Provo Craft customer service after talking to one of their reps. That is what I did. I took a photo of 6 to 8 cartridges at a time. They need to be able to read the title of the cartridge. I had over a hundred cartridges, but they linked them for me because I couldn't get my Gypsy to turn on. It took about 3 weeks for them to get them all uploaded to my account.

I purchased a Cricut Explore Air 2. It was super quick and easy to link my cartridges with it. It has a slot to insert the cartridge for linking. It takes about 30 seconds.
Also, their customer service was great. I used chat and email.

Also, their customer service was great. I used chat and email. It is quick and easy IF your cartridges have not been previously linked. Those cartridges which I had not gotten around to linking to my Gypsy were quickly linked to my Design Space account using the cartridge slot on my Cricut Explore Air 2. However, all those which were linked to my Gypsy needed to be uploaded by the Provo Craft customer service rep, because my Gypsy seemed dead even though I had just charged it up. I called customer service, and the gal I spoke with said that I needed to email her photos of my physical cartridges, and she would get those carts linked to my account. She said it would take about 10 days since I had so many. It was closer to 3 weeks, but she did get it done for me. If your Gypsy still works, there should be a process for using it to link your cartridges to your account.

My cartridges all transferred over from Cricut Craft Room to Design Space without a problem, including the ones that had been linked through my Gypsy. Maybe your cartridges were never transferred from your Gypsy. I remember it all being very easy to do. Glad the CS rep was able to link them all for you eventually, though. That must have been very frustrating for you.

I chatted with PC CS and they were very helpful. They walked me through syncing my gypsy. I need to go through my carts next and figure out which ones I hadn't linked to my gypsy and add them.

I just wanted to chime in and say that you're not too late. I'm still using an original Expressions! I do have a Silhouette Portrait and I switch between them depending on what I want to do.
I'm glad PC CS was able to help you.
