@elaynef - I have been using this process for quite some time now and I find it really works for me. I found that having a stack of physical photos overwhelmed me and I could never make a decision as to what I wanted to scrap next. I also found that I would ONLY scrap 4 x 6 photos because I would not cut the physical photo down, but I will order a photo in a different size. And if I ordered a batch of photos of a single event I would feel compelled to scrap them all, with this method I choose which photos I really want to work with scrap those and then I can order the remaining ones for pocket pages to go with the layouts.

crystalb I am dying over the photos - so, so cute! You did a wonderful layout. What a great way to use frames, too. Aww thank you. They were some of my favorites, just silly moments in the car before meeting teachers.

Right, I'm just posting to see if I can get an image in here..... ooh, it worked! Sorry it's so gigantic. I'll make tomorrow's smaller! I used a frame (of Nuvo dots around the edge), staples, 6x4" photo, inked edges (I inked the woodgrain paper) and patterned paper as a background (this is super hard for me, I'm usually a white background girl!). woodysbetty I love your LO! Great embellishments I love love love your nuvo drop frame! What a fab idea!!!!!! I agree, the pp background was a toughie since I too am a white cs girl but it was fun getting out of my comfort zone. Thank you for playing!

Here's my layout. Thank you so much crystalb for posting your challenge last night so I could come up with my plan at bedtime and go straight to work when I had the chance this morning. And thanks of course for thinking it up in the first place. My five are a 4X6 photo, floral paper and washi, frames (I actually used 2, but I stuck them together and hid the seams with die cuts,) brown inked edges, and small alphabet stickers (her name that I added after I took the photo.) There's also a pack of Jolee's stickers sprinkled over the page. That was fun - I'm ready for my next challenge! (Actually, my next challenge is to clean up the mess I made.) crystalb , that's a really cute use of your frames. The pinks and brights in them really balance out all the pink on the left side of the layout. Nicely done! woodysbetty , I loved reading your story - my personal favorite Hobbit meal is elevensies kiwigirl , your papers are a great choice for your photo, and I love all the shades of green! Aww thank you! I know I like to stew a bit on my thoughts before diving in so you are welcome for it early! Your page is my fav color combo (blue/brown!) It is so pretty! I love the colors of course but I also enjoy the banner sneaking out and the use of the elements you choose. Thank you for playing! Did you get the mess cleaned up (or make more)?

gc at Folly beach...It's been a long time since I got those primas out! 4x6 pic, florals, small alphabet stickers, inked edges and pp. That border is from a travel magazine. (not acid free ) Thanks for posting last night....it helps if I can start thinking about it in advance. Great take on the challenge! I am glad to hear it helped to have it posted early! I think I will continue that! I love that you repurposed something from a magazine! Great thinking! Thank you for playing!

I love all the layers and bits/pieces! Thank you so much for playing and I can't wait to see what else you do this month! Again WELCOME WELCOME!

First let me apologize for the quality of my photos. My computer is down so I can not access my editing software to crop them down. And no I do not know how to do that on my phone - LOL. I used 4x6 photo, inking, small alphas, frames, pattern paper for the background. Also please note, my photos are placeholders, I scrap the pages first and then order the photos so that is why the photos are not centered on the mats.
No apologies necessary. These are ALL fantastic. Great use of the colors and icons. We love HP here so woohooo! Thank you for playing!

no picture I'm afraid - both because I struggle with adding pictures and because the photo is of DD17 and her BF and his family is cautious about online sharing. my five are: patterned paper background (black with cream writing), florals (3 flowers with brads in the centre - does that count?), camera (QK die cut), 4x6 photo, and small alphas (doodlebug). I really like how it came out and this picture's been sitting on my desk all week while I tried to figure out how I was going to scrap it so THANK YOU crystalb Thank you for respecting their privacy, I find that commendable. Yes the flowers count, floral is floral in my opinion. Honestly that was the hardest part for me (besides pp for a background) as I have NEVER been a floral person. Great job! Thanks for playing!

I'm impressed with your nuvo drop ability. They all looks so uniform! It was an innovative way to interpret the frames too, love that. Great page and cute cat. That is such a pretty feminine page. I love the butterflies and colors. But tell the truth, did you buy the shirt to go with that pp or vice versa? gc at Folly beach...It's been a long time since I got those primas out! 4x6 pic, florals, small alphabet stickers, inked edges and pp. That border is from a travel magazine. (not acid free ) That border is fantastic, how clever of you to think about a magazine photo. I used 4x6 photo, inking, small alphas, frames, pattern paper for the background. Also please note, my photos are placeholders, I scrap the pages first and then order the photos so that is why the photos are not centered on the mats. Each of your pages are gorgeous! AND, I'm glad to see you here and posting! I've missed you too. Linda, I'm sure it's a gorgeous page. ********** You ladies are quick. Thanks for all of the inspiration. I hope to scrap tomorrow and get this challenge finished.

Did you get the mess cleaned up (or make more)?
Both. I cleaned it up and then I took out another page that I had started awhile back and finished it up with a title and a couple embellishments. I'm tempted to take out another project, but I'm hoping the next challenge will post soon enough!
I love the butterflies and colors. But tell the truth, did you buy the shirt to go with that pp or vice versa?
It was a case of seeing the sticker pack and knowing exactly which photo I wanted to use them on, and then I built the rest of the page around them. Youngest DD loves butterflies, so I'm always searching for them in the stores. Isn't it great when you find the perfect thing for your page?

I think it's more fun if you can do the challenges on the days that they're posted. But plenty of us will have days we have to skip and want to make up. I'm sure you'll have lots of company there. Some of us will probably try to do the m-f challenges over the weekends. Life happens!

here’s mine, using almost every item on the list. 4x6 photo, florals, a circular frame, rubon stitching, a paper clip, a few staples, small alpha stickers, and a patterned paper background. i need to look up the date and there’s no journaling because i’ve already made a 2-page spread telling the story and using lots more photos.

This is the quilt I made my husband a couple of Christmases ago, had quilted last Christmas & finished the binding this Christmas! I am not sure how to attach the photo from Flickr here. Thank you for your patience with me. This is really fun Ok- so I am a total disaster. I now "disenrolled" from Gallery & have begged the Admin. To let me back in. You can see it in my Flickr account. 😢😬 Yay! So I figured out how to do it from my phone on Tapatalk!

grammadee and msliz , I asked about the deadline because of the answer crystalb posted on her thread in response to the same question. I know the rules say points will be added on March 5, but I'm not sure if each individual challenge is open that long. I don't have a hard deadline but could be shoot for next Wednesday before I put up the next Thursday challenge? We are going to have different hostesses each day so keep checking back! Oops, sorry, I meant to post this on the main thread. Please ignore, I can't seem to delete it.

Such beautiful layouts everybody! Welcome back maribeth ! I used a 4x6, patterned paper, staples, a mini alpha, inking, and a camera. Thanks for the great challenge, crystalb . This is also my Layout a Day page where the challenge was to use lots of different alphas. It's kind of hard to see, but DH's Coke says that it belongs to Santa. LOAD1 by Jacqueline Bruce, on Flickr

It's fun to see everyone's take on the challenge! Here are some journaling cards for a couple of pocket page layouts on our summer road trip. I have an idea to take one of my redwood photos, print it as a 9x12, then cut it into 12 squares. The little square card will replace one of the photo squares. I'm still struggling as to how to print the 9x12 at Costco. It looks like Photoshop is the only option, so I'm trying that tomorrow.
I used patterned paper, flowers, sticker letters, a 4x6 photo, inked edges, and drew some stitching around a heart.
(Photos removed)
Click to enlarge or see in Gallery, which I finally figured out how to use again!

I'm so impressed with everyone! I didn't get to play last night, but I'm hoping to tonight! kiwigirl I love what you did with your Nuvo drops. They are so perfect! msliz I love the diagonal line you created with the butterflies. It really draws my eye to the photo @elaynef What a great idea to use a photo from a magazine. I just spray my non-acid free items with archival mist. tonyatoo I really like all your layers! maribeth I enjoy making 2 page layouts, so I really enjoyed the way you created a mirror image for the 2nd page. linda I think you are awesome to respect the privacy of the non-family members in your photo. stinkerbelle The stitching you did on the diagonal really adds to your layout. I love it. justjac Your repeating the title word is great. It really adds to the funny feeling of your layout. oaksong I struggle with how to use all my 3x4 cards - great job!

What an amazing start for the month! Keep 'em comin', crafty people! Here is my take on this challenge on the right hand page. I was also trying to mimic the border used in the process video from SCT I shared the other day, using some strips of pp from my stash. I will count the left side as a Free Style in the Tally thread. School pics Calgary '17 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I used pp for a background, used the stars on the pp to frame the cutapart, inked some edges, used a staple, and some small letter stickers to identify the kids. There are also some cameras on one of the strips for good measure.
