This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Oh my gosh, justjac - I love those crafting layouts! And the eat/sleep/love/craft/repeat paper is perfect. Makes me want to take some photos of my new cropping friends so I can make a page like those!

Happy February y'all! Thanks nylene for the new thread. We had a great 12th anniversary day last Sunday. We ended up going to dinner near the place where we had our wedding reception. Then we drove over to the banquet hall where we had our reception and... it was turned into some sort of exercise studio!!! I was so bummed. ALl these years its been a banquet facility and now no more. In fact the whole area turned from a peaceful bay side area to a high energy area. I just loved going over there and watching the boats on the bay and the sunset was awesome. Well, things change but my memories are forever.
The cleaning and decorating continues. I am almost finished with the bedroom. I just need to figure out one area that needs something. Also, I got a big ole bag of papers and stuff I need to sort through. I started the other rooms and hope next week to be all done. I will share some pics of our bedroom. It is looking good. I hope this year I can buy a new couch, rug and a few other things to sharpen up this place.
Art class LisaDV is going well. I go tomorrow and enjoy the variety of projects we have done. I have to share some pics of that too. Guys, I am so behind on sharing pics. Thanks for bearing with me.
msliz - I hope you are feeling better! Hang in there!
nylene - Hope you are better too. Take it easy. Hopefully some of our warm weather has reached you too.
scrapincin - The big game is Sunday. Fingers crossed the Eagles has a fighting chance for Ron's sake. LOL!
Waving hello to you all and have a great day!

Thanks for the thread, nylene! Had a great day today, playing with paper at the Lss, then meeting justjac and her hubby for supper. Came home to some "homework" trying to get a handle on all the creativity going on today. Wow! This place is hoppin'! It was wonderful to see maribeth taking part in 28-4-28, and the rest of you, too.

I remember how that opportunity feels. Justjac, you are on a roll...amazing! Msliz, hope you are better. Nylene...we are remembering Steve and hoping he is better and you, too. Doesn't work very well when everyone is sick at home. Kelly 21 can't wait to see the next art project you show us and congratulations on all the work you are doing on your home. I know that feels good. Scrapincin hope you are doing well, too. Looking forward to hearing what you're up to soon. I am finished with my fall trip album except for 3 pics in those pesky pockets. I have ordered them. Will pick a favorite or 2 and show y'all soon. I'm back to working on the grands albums and did a page yesterday for the challenge. Working on today's now. Dd#2 lives in a beautiful area of North Carolina and she sends me some great pics. Dd#3 is a children's photographer and she sends me great pics, too. She just got a great new camera and dh is going to buy her old one. We're planning a trip to get it soon. He is anxious to try it. He already bought a new lens for it. Dd#1 is good about sending pics too. She has a empty nest but visits her kids a lot and has a beagle that keeps everyone entertained. Her dd is getting married in may and that will be the first time the whole gang will be together in a while. She is having a destination wedding in Titusville FL. She aked me if I wanted to be flower girl! I think I would feel silly...and the other grandmother would be upset I think. It's always been my goal to be everyone's favorite granny, but I don't want to rub it in! It will be the 1st time The youngest group of gs's have seen the ocean. They are very excited. I'm not sure if I mentioned it, but we have a guest who is on week 3 of being in our guest room. He is our former next door neighbor who is trying to get his former home fixed up to rent again. I did not anticipate him being here this long. He is no trouble, but I'm ready for him to be finished. I've never had someone who is not family or very close friend stay this long before.

Good Morning Peas! Sure is a busy place around here. Thank you for the new thread Nylene and I hope you are feeling better! I continue to feel better most days! Still have not needed the oxygen. I do still get short of breath with exertion but not as bad as before. grammadee you are so busy I do not know how you keep up! Now keeping this challenge going! Whew! I have got a couple things to post yet but will get them done sometime today. kellyr21-I will be rooting for the Eagles too as I am not a big fan of the Patriots. In my book they have been caught doing underhanded things too many times.I will be watching the game too! @elaynef you sure are getting busy with all that scrapping! Look forward to seeing what yu are doing creatively! msliz and justjac your pages are fabulous and I will be visiting the gallery sometime today! Here's my layout for Day one where I got 6 of the ckallenges included in it. happiness is retirement day by Cindy Blair, on Flickr

I finally finished and have some pages from my fall trip to show you. These are all Arkansas 1. Cabin where we stayed at Mt. Nebo state park. It was recently remodeled and they had a designer. It was so cute, we felt like we were staying in 1 of Joanna's houses from hgtv. I'll show you the before in another post. 2. and 3.Devils Den State Park. #2 PP was from the kit I found in the visitor's center and paid way too much for. that's me sitting outside our cabin in the cold in my nightie drinking coffee on the pocket page. I was determined to sit in those chairs.

Lovely pages, @elaynef. Gorgeous photos. Love the look of that rustic cabin. So great to see all the creations being shared on the board and in the Gallery over these past two days! Really happy to see the Pokeys jumping in with pages and encouraging comments. I didn't get to any scrapping myself today. I think I need to set out some stuff before I go to bed so I will know what to do with it in the morning. Having trouble where to go for inspiration when there is so much eye candy to ogle! Part of me wants to just "grab, glue, and go!" but then I DO have sorted photos that are crying to get into an album. One of my next projects is going to be to try out my new Karen Burniston Twist Pop dies that justjac surprised me with for my birthday! I picked up some magnetic sheets so I can keep the little pieces of the die set organized while I am cutting the other pieces. Lots of pieces, but I hope by watching her videos a few times I will be able to make one of these cards for my dgs who turns 5 this month. Anyway signing off for now. TTYL

Thanks for the well wishes, everyone. I have been feeling better for the most part. Tomorrow I'll be at a crop all day, and DH was kind enough to bring all my gear down the stairs for me. kellyr21, what a bummer about your sweet bay area. Why does "progress" have to look so ugly? Glad your room is shaping up so you still have someplace beautiful to go. Happy Anniversary. LisaDV, did you and DD ever finish your pajama project? Did you get photos of your kids modeling them? @elaynef, such beautiful photos - and I love the colors you chose for the mats behind the photos! Sending all of you some get healthy / stay healthy vibes!

justjac, such beautiful pages. I so enjoy seeing your pages. kellyr21, sorry your bay area changed, but Happy Anniversary! I'm glad your remodeling is coming along and that you are enjoying your art class. I can't wait to see what you've created. @elaynef, your photos and pages are beautiful. A destination wedding sounds fabulous. I'm sure you'll love having everyone together. It's so sweet that she asked you to be the flower girl. That's love! scrapincin, love your page. That soft almost dreamy feel is perfect for a retirement page. I hope your neighbor is enjoying retirement. grammadee, Did you set your stuff out before bed so you were ready to go this morning? I can't wait to see the twist pop card. msliz, I'm glad you are feeling better and that you've been crafting. We have not finished our pj bottoms. I was in full blown holiday prep in December without any extra time. and, She's been feeling too poorly for the last couple of months to really do many extra curricular things. The doctor is trying a new medicine but they said most pharmacies don't carry it, and it will most likely have to be ordered. Currently I'm in slow mode from staying up late with dd. Plus DH & I are trying to change to a healthier diet. To kick start our healthier eating I'm doing juice and mainly plant based food for the first couple of months. We'll allow a lean meat meal to be included a couple of times a week. I also allow myself 1oz or less of Parmesan cheese with my apples every once in a while. I've lost 8 pounds already. But I feel like I'm always in the kitchen with the juicing and meal prep. I try to make things that I can easily add meat to make the kids portions. So I'm not making 2 meals. I have also premade some soups last week so I wasn't creating them each day. There is only one left. I did get to create 2 pages yesterday. That was fun. I'm hoping to continue some crafty time today, but since both kids were away from me yesterday, I know I will need to spend some time with each of them. They both like to snuggle up to me the day after they've been away from me (even if it was just a short time). DS has already said maybe the two of us could watch a movie together later today. lol. So I guess if I get off of the computer I might be able to get something accomplished before I'm commanded elsewhere.

Good job on the weight loss, LisaDV! I guess the only way GOOD food is FAST food is if you can pull a carrot right out of the garden, brush it off and eat it. No wait. That means you had to work up the soil, plant the seeds, weed and water for a few months first. Still not fast... So glad you are feeling better, scrapincin, and off the oxygen tanks. How is Steve doing, nylene? And did you finally shake the flu? So glad to see the Pokeys playing along with 28-4-28! Happy belated anniversary, kellyr21! It's sad to see things change, but you are right: you will have the memories for a lifetime. And for those of us who scrapbook, the memories can go on beyond us. The church we were married in has now closed down and is empty. At least it hasn't [yet] been turned into an antique store like one of the other churches in town. The hall where our reception was held is now an office building for an oilfield service company. I didn't make Mikey's twist pop card today. All I did was cut down the magnetic sheet to fit into the package. All the challenges are making me want to do everything at once, but then I get lost in bopping from one thread to another, reading people's comments, seeing what everyone else is doing, adding up people's points, so I decided last night to take out some photos to work on this morning. They are of the same two boys, but one set was taken inside and the other outside and I was not sure how I was going to scrap them. Ended up using KikiPea's February Sketch challenge for one of them, and then carrying on the same papers into the second page to tie the two pages together. little men by Gramma Dee, on Flickr little men 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Onward to more mundane things. Monday is our bi-monthly garbage pick up, so I am off to collect all the things I have set aside to go into the bin and set them by the door.

Happy Birthday grammadee! I hope you are getting spoiled. I have been busy looking at all the layouts. I hope all the Pokeys are getting time to scrap. I've been sharing my layouts on the challenge threads. Would you like to see them here, too? I am off to get my hair done after work. Saturday I scrapped a page and we got the second coat of paint on most of the main floor at DH's old house. I am really hoping we can be done with renovations by the end of the month, but I might be overly optimistic. Sunday I did laundry, crafted, and shopped so it was a good day. I hope you are all having a great day.

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all are well today. Thanks for all the anniversary well wishes. We did have a good time last Sunday. On Friday, we went away to our favorite hotel, Embassy Suites for the weekend. We got a lot of rest and Lord knows we needed it. There was a fabulous mall near by so we went there and enjoyed window shopping at all the high end stores. On Sunday, as we were leaving the hotel, I was going down the stairs and... ( you know what happens next) I lost my footing and felt a sharp twist in my ankle. It hurt and I walked to see if it was ok. It was sore but ok. Then later that evening it was fine but when I was putting on my shoe, I reinjured it! I went to the store and when I came back I could barely walk on it. My dh got me a little tub with some Epson salt and I took some Advil and together they did the trick. Yesterday, I felt much better and today I don't feel any soreness. Whew! Close call. But still taking it easy. grammadee - HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I had a good time with your family and pizza and cake sounds good to me. Keep celebrating and enjoy your day. LisaDV - Congrats on your wellness journey and weigh loss. That is terrific! I want to cook healthier this year. I like how you are precooking your soups so they are ready during the week. My grandma used to shop and cook almost all her food in many two days and freeze it. That was so great and I hope I can cook up some things so during the week I can just warm up. Keep up the good work Lisa! scrapincin - The EAGLES DID IT! Ron was SOOOOO excited and happy and so was I. I just knew the Patriots would win but the Eagles backup qb played a heck of a game. I was nervous and couldn't watch all the game until the last few minutes and even those were nerve racking. LOL! Also, glad you are feeling better. @elaynef - You are doing a great job scrapping. Waving hello to you all and have a good evening!

Happy Belated Birthday, grammadee ! I was so busy trying to figure out what to scrap that I missed it. Glad you had a good time and ate pizza. Thank you for all the work you have put in on the 28-4-28. I didn't think I would last this long, but I'm excited about what is coming tomorrow. kellyr21 , I am so glad you had a great time for your Anniversary, but sorry you took a tumble. I am glad nothing is broken. Take care of yourself and your sweet husband. We had a lady younger than I who was on her way to lead an Addiction Meeting and slipped and fell. She broke her hip. We don't want any broken hips from the Pokeys!! LisaDV , your healthy eating sounds good. With just two of us, I usually only cook a couple of days a week and we have leftovers. I really hate spending time in the kitchen, so it works for me. Hope you enjoy your movie with DS tonight. scrapincin , I am loving your layouts. I am really slowing down, though. My poor room looks like a tornado hit. justjac , it's fun to see your pages too. You must be double busy trying to do both challenges. msliz and @elaynef , I am loving your pages. I have learned more about you two just enjoying your layouts. It's fun to see your avatars popping up in the threads. The Pokeys are pretty well represented in the 29-4-28 challenge. maribeth , your projects are amazing. I love that calendar project. 18 Valentines...you are really working your fingers to the bone. So nice to see you checking in.

Your works are beautiful but I can't seem to keep caught up to do comments! So making this short and sweet as I am going to try to work on a layout for one of the challenges. kellyr21 I am so glad those Eagles won! I told yu I would be rooting for them!

Hello Pokeys! How is everyone doing? I have been missing our chats. How is your ankle doing now, kellyr21? Thanks for all the birthday wishes. We were out for supper for my birthday, and then for lunch for dh's sister's bd the next day. I had cooked a big meal (pork roast, mashed potatoes & gravy) on the weekend, so we had leftovers yesterday. Today I have a big pot of bean soup in the oven and a loaf of bread rising in the bread maker. First meal I have cooked since Sunday! Have not done much except glue together pages and make a big mess in my craftroom. Have shored up travel plans for august in Orlando. Have the condo suites booked for everyone (us + 4 kids and families) and our travel (dh & I). Yesterday I booked a return flight to visit with dd and family in Ontario, Canada later this months (leaving in 11 days). It has been great seeing all the Pokey contributions to 28-4-28. If we keep this up, we may need to change our mascot to the Cheeta! I have been putting my pages into the Gallery and linking them to the challenge threads. Thought I would link this here b/c a couple of you had asked to see what I did with the Karen Burniston twist pop card die set that justjac gave me for my birthday. This is the inside of a card I put together today for my dgs who will by 5 in a couple of weeks. winter bd inside by Gramma Dee, on Flickr It is a bit of a learning curve, and I really need to be more precise than usual in getting the pieces glued into their proper places, but this was fun. And here is the outside of the card: much easier for me: winter bd by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

The gallery is on fire and I am not keepng up with all the entries! I will try to catch up with everyone's creations as it is another snowy day here. The kids schools were already closed for some reason, which is good so this one does not count against there calamity days. There is quite a bit of snow out there. We notice it more cuz the past couple of years we lucked out and did not get much.
I am still behind but hope to get caught up before Monday! I have some cards to make as my sister's birthday is Valentines Day plus the kids probably looking forward to them.
Well my brain is going around and around so will get back with you later. Going to get busy!

kellyr21, Ouch. I'm so glad your ankle is feeling better. I hope that it continues to gain strength. I thought of you (and Ron) as Don watched the superbowl. When he said the Eagles won, I knew you'd have a very excited husband. scrapincin, I have been thinking of you over the last few days. Don was actually in your neck of the woods. He had some meetings in Cleveland and Chagrin Falls. He met a potential client in Chagrin Falls and met up with some old work colleagues in Cleveland. Today he went to Sweet Designs in Lakewood. The best chocolate outside of Switzerland. He drove home today in that mess though. I'm waving hi to everyone else, but need to sign off. I've been catching up on the 28-4-28 comments and need to stand up and wiggle my fingers. Phew, that's a lot of time.
