that's not the worst of it.
It LITERALLY has a daily summary of every single day of the year. Every.single.day.
January 14 - we went to Annandale to attend the "Everyone is His Witness" program and learned some new tools on witnessing. January 15 - Bruce and I took a driving class and clearned some driving laws we didn't know about and some good driving tips. January 16 - we went to a garden show. Bruce really didn't want to go but we had fun. We took pictures but they didn't turn out because I had a borrowed camera.
I could go on (and on and on and on) but you get the idea.
If this had come at Christmas, I might have been prepared, but a month later, I've moved on and wasn't prepared - LOL.
To make matters worse, it's from one of DH's cousins who I have never met (I've known DH for 40 years and we've been married for close to 20) and I can pretty much guarantee that DH hasn't seen or had contact with this cousin in those 40 years either.
So incredibly weird.
ETA: DH's subdued WTF reaction added on page 5

Is it possible this is a jab at those who send Christmas letters? Perhaps the sender thought, "Those damn letters --I'll SHOW them!"
(I tried to send a Christmas letter once and could not figure out how to make it interesting. I noticed my niece sent hers with a summary of what was news worthy each month. Her life is interesting with her theater work and travel.)

I'm not even friends with them on FB. In fact, they are so remote from us that when I saw the envelope I had to ask DH who they even were. I've never even heard their name mentioned. It's so strange.
I skimmed because surely there had to be a request at the end of it for mission money or something like that, but nope. I don't know a single person or thing they mentioned. I did find out that apparently they go to some sort of pet show conventions and sell guppies. That's surely information I could have done without for another year. They also had Chow Mein for dinner at least twice that I saw. Pancakes were on the table another night.

I would be too embarrassed to send a letter that detailed - it would just show how often I sit on my butt on the sofa
May 15, 2017 - worked all day, came home, fixed food that passed as dinner, sat on the sofa and watched TV. Bed by 10:30 May 16, 2017 - worked all day, came home, fixed food that passed as dinner, sat on the sofa and watched TV. Bed by 10:30.....

I don't even know what to say. Oh, they also got Pella windows because Bruce's cousin has them and likes them. ETA: Side note - I haven't done it for a couple of years, but the past several years, I sent a 1 sheet collage of photos with very minimal captions and people did really seem to like that for a Christmas letter. (But they were never on my list)

Of course mine would include a lot of "leftovers for dinner....again!"

How many pages? What was the font size? Shoot, what font did they select? Inquiring minds want to know.

I also can't wait until DH gets home to see his face when he reads it. He has the best WTF face ever.
But then he will read every single word, because that's who he is and what he does (requred annual statements from our investment company are a hoot around here because he likes to read them in detail and then pepper me with questions. Please. I throw that shit away before it even makes it out of the envelope)

How many pages? What was the font size? Shoot, what font did they select? Inquiring minds want to know. Some sort of normal san serif font in about a 7. Two full pages, front and back. And it's not even on separate lines - it is all running together into weirdly broken up paragraphs that aren't even by the month. (I kindly broke up the example for your benefit) These people are obviously having some sort of a crisis.

Awe! I love a weird Christmas letter. Our crazy aunt died last year and I looked forward to that letter every year. It was always salaciously full of gossip - including her disdain for her one DIL- and full of nonsense. One year we even got the Dr. appointment tally, # of pills taken and times she gave blood. It was rambling, odd, full of anger with lose attempts to cover it like, "But Sharon knows I still love her so don't you worry."

I love it. We need more snippets. Feb 5 Bruce schooled Matt in a game of pool carroms (my note: WTF is that?) February 25 How does one person be in two places at once. Jesus, I am not. (my note: thanks for the clarification on that matter) February 26 We went to the Croatian Hall. We call it the Crow. March 1 We went to The Cities and drove Rick's truck. Gail wants a truck now. Bruce says "no." April 14 Bruce's guppies are still good sellers. Hard to find Ma and Pa pet shops that will pay him cash for his fish. (who are these people? Charles and Carolyn Ingalls?)

This has so captivated my attention today, I am considering doing this in December just to mess with people. I think the self-awareness would ruin it though.

Way too weird. Do you think it's sincere? Like maybe she just did it as a joke to play on someone who sends out the letters. Then decided WTH, I'll send it to everyone I've ever known.

On the positive side, I will say that the letter is not in the slightest bit braggy. It's just factual, every day life. Pizza, chow mein, church, cutting grass, uninspiring home maintenance issues, etc.
Somehow that almost makes it worse.

No, it's totally totally sincere. Even included a couple of (sort of normal) photos I'm not joking when I say that I don't think my husband has seen or mentioned these people since at least his early teens and he's 55. He hasn't even lived in Minnesota since he was 18 and left for the Air Force. They live in Minnesota - we live in Texas. They've never been on any mailing list or invitation list or FB list. I've never heard anyone talk about them (although to be fair, I'm sure they are mentioned from time to time when some of his sisters discuss things they did with cousins when they were little, but DH isn't a part of that type of talk because we don't live near them) They live near Minneapolis. We happen to be going to Minnesota this summer (but we JUST made the reservations and NO ONE knows). I'm SO tempted to stop to see them!!!!
