Our whole family watched it together - it was awesome! We were especially wow’d by the two booster rockets landing simultaneously.

I’m laughing at myself. All I could think is ‘why would anyone saw the lift off of the SpaceX?’

I'm such a nerd. I watched the YouTube recording because I was in meetings during the actual launch. DS was with me and said, "Mom? Are you CRYING?"
Sniff. I might have leaked out of my eyes a little.

I watched and it was so cool to see! I was amazed at the boosters coming back down and landing like that! Wonder if those can be reused?
I also wondered if people on the FL coast go out on their boats to watch? Or would that be dangerous if something malfunctioned at the rocket fell back to Earth?
When is the next launch?

There was a launch on the day our cruise started at Port Canavarel this past October. We were able to watch the launch from the ship and it was amazing!

My space geek son watched it. He has dreams of working for them one day. I'm sure he drove his brother, dad and stepmom nuts at the dinner table talking about it.

I might have leaked out of my eyes a little. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one to get emotional at this kind of thing! We watched together as a family too. Well, until the 8-year-old went back to reading Harry Potter!

The best part of the entire thing is the red Tesla Roadster that is now orbiting earth with a dummy in a space suit in the driver's seat. That makes me giggle.

Another techie that is thrilled by the successful launch.
But I think the whole Tesla thing is irresponsible. I admire Elon Musk he has changed the way the world's car manufactures think. Whilst leaving most chasing their tails trying to figure out how to catch up. But if this story is true then I'm not impressed. 1) that battery should have been recycled. 2) we do not need more crap orbiting the sun. The space station (current and future ones) enough danger from natural asteroids without man made ones.

My friends son is one of the engineers that helps design the rockets for SpaceX. This guy also dreamed to be a rocket scientist ever since he was a young child! Encourage your son!!! He loves his job and working for them! We saw it live, standing on a bridge in our town. We're still 1 1/2 hours away but it was still visible. Very cool.

Listening to David Bowie On the other hand, I am not sur I am in favour of space junk. FTR I hope the stereotypical rugby playing Afrikaners who bullied Elon Musk as a kid feel sick, sick, sick. To anybody who ever thought saying "hey Boet!" Made them cool or their Neanderthal behaviour acceptable, especially to a certain oke in Benoni, I hope you feel sick, sick, sick. Charlize Theron put your town on the map, not your little racist family.
