There is a group (possibly more than one) on Facebook for Boxy Charm subscribers that allows you to sell or trade what you have received in the boxes. Boxy Charm is nice in that the samples are all full size or deluxe size...nothing small. For me, the last two boxes have had too many shimmery palettes. I have received a Dr. Brandt primer and a Cover FX setting spray in my boxes that I loved enough I bought duplicates from the FB group.

I used to get Ipsy, but really wasn’t impressed.
I switched to Lip Monthly, as I really love lipstick and gloss! It’s great! ☺️

Well, I got my two boxy charm boxes, yesterday. Both the exact same box. I am disappointed with that. I subscribed to a second box in January hoping to get two different variations, when there were variations. I love the Cover FX Shimmer Veil in Amethyst, so pleased to get two of those in full size. Its shimmery, but I like shimmery done right. I like the naked highlight palettes i got, I think i can make use of those as an eyeshadow topper, although I will be trading one of them. I like the black eyeliner pencils. They're pigmented, but not the jet black they say they are, so that actually makes them useful to me. I like the brushes. I'm of the opinion you can never have too many brushes, although they're not the best quality brushes I've gotten in a box, they're still decent, soft and will do just fine. I DESPISE the two cosmic blue Bellapierre glitters I got. Literally, they're pots of glitter, lol. Its a bright blue, so its not really something that I'd wear. Its actually the first real MISS for me with Boxycharm. Normally, I donate what I dont like or doesn't work to our local women's shelter, but those went straight to the bin, although maybe i should have sent them to the scrapbook room instead. But that's one miss out of five items for $21 each, so overall I'm very happy this month.

That was the first month I think I got two boxes, and I was so happy to get two of those.

I have a question because I like to shop and I like to receive things in the mail more. Those who get one box or more does the stuff just pile up after a while and become clutter or do you actually incorporate the stuff you received into your routine?
The reason I asked this is because I just received a sample size of Laura Mercier primer and I am so impressed with it. Do you get that calibre of stuff in the boxes? Is it a lot of indy brands?

The reason I asked this is because I just received a sample size of Laura Mercier primer and I am so impressed with it. Do you get that calibre of stuff in the boxes? Is it a lot of indy brands? Ummm.... yes to all of the questions. On the one hand, the boxes are for experimentation, so especially with skin care, I will typically open those, smell them, and put some on the back of my hand before bed to test for reactions. Things I like and that don't trigger a migraine with their scent usually get put in the "I will try it box." But, you know, my limit is like three open moisturizers at once so it still takes a long time to go through everything and yeah, it does pile up after a while. So I try to be realistic with myself about what I really will and do want to try and what I can put aside to sell or trade. And sometimes, stuff goes straight into the trash can after I try it. But I have found a lot of great products through the boxes to incorporate. I think the caliber of products in most boxes is really pretty high, although it's usually a range. Certainly Laura Mercier and similar brands have been in boxes. Many of the boxes also have drugstore brands and indy brands that you might never have heard of. But I don't really mind the mix of "levels" of product-- for one thing, it's nice to find a product you like that does not cost more than $10 when you want the full size. But also, a lot of my favorite new products are those "unknown" brands that some people complain are cheap just because they've never seen the product before. (I really like everything I've gotten from Seraphine Botanicals, for example.)

I have tried out what I like, I know what will work with which and I go with that. I am utterly predictable with the looks I go out with. I think I am afraid to deviate with my skin care regime because something will happen. Nothing is going to happen. Everything is going to be fine. It's makeup. It's supposed to be fun!

Everything is going to be fine. It's makeup. It's supposed to be fun! I definitely find makeup harder to experiment with-- like, I've never worn eyeliner, I am pretty sure all my coworkers would look at me funny if I started, and it just doesn't look right on me. Well, more accurately, because I've never worn it, it doesn't look right TO me when I look in the mirror. But I like at least trying different colors of eyeshadows and things. Some of my favorite eyeshadows are actually highlighters or blush. Sometimes, if I'm not sure how the makeup's gonna turn out, I will plan to experiment with it before I take a shower. So I just apply it over a not fully cleansed face to see if I kind of like it and want to try more. But whether it's good or it's awful, I just take the makeup remover and wipe most of it off, then wash my face with my clarisonic in the shower. Yeah, I don't like to deviate too much on my skin care, either-- it sometimes causes a minor freakout and I get a lot of flaking. I usually try to change only ONE thing at a time-- JUST the cleanser or JUST the makeup remover or JUST the moisturizer. Then if that works out okay after a few days, I can try something else if I want to.

Then if that works out okay after a few days, I can try something else if I want to. I have to try this because some of my highlighters are so beautiful. I have a couple of contour sets as well that are so pretty and could work with a little shimmer from highlighter. It takes me totally out of my comfort zone. I also like to put on makeup in the afternoon. The morning I don't have good coordination and get fed up really quickly. In the afternoon after I have eaten and had a cup of coffee I am better and more patient to try things. I have been watching a LOT of youtube videos lately and learned some great new tricks. They are new to me, of course, the whole world probably knows about them. One thing I learned to do was apply Laura Mercier powder with a damp Beauty Blender. The look you get is flawless. I didn't know that! Then which brushes are better than others to use with whichever powders or foundations. I am learning a lot. I also learned I am not the only person to like Hourglass primer at first and hate it now. I used Laura Mercier's today for the first time and loved it. I got the sample based on a review on Youtube. I am so pleased with it. I don't know if I will like it forever but it worked really well for me!

I'm not finding any boxes that match the last three numbers on my order? I don't think all of the spoilers are up. Someone had posted the contents of box 876 in the comments on my subscription addiction.
