9 yr old dd has crazy hair day tomorrow. I’m the biggest Scrooge when it comes to things like this. I need a good idea with minimal effort. No dying or 100 elastics. Any ideas?
Paige.

An easy style is small ponies all over the head.Or in a crown on the top of the head. (I know you said not 100 elastics, but...)

This looks simple if you have pipe cleaners on hand. You could stick toys in there or something silly instead.

You could also just do a super high pony with a bun, spray the heck out of it with hairspray, and sprinkle with glitter.

If your dd has really long hair you can take an empty water bottle and put it on top of her head. Gather the hair around it and use 1 elastic to secure it at the top. Spray it with hairspray.

I plan to put their hair into two ponytails and braid, then apply super hold gel that I mix with rainbow colored glitter to the part. It'll wash out that night in the shower.
We also did hair chalk one time (or spray if you can find it without it being Halloween).

Color hair spray (think Halloween). We always buy it on clearance after Halloween but I think you can still find it. If we have time, I do a head full of braids that are all sprayed a different color. If no time, Three ponies all different colors.

I have no glitter or coloured hair spray or pipe cleaners. An email came out at 9pm last night that this is spirit week at school. We had an unexpected snow day on Friday which must have stopped their communication home or to the kids about this and they must have remembered late last night. I’m not the type of person to display school spirit but I don’t want to influence my dd. She’s too young to do her own hair. The Scrooge in my also doesn’t want to do something that requires washing. Dance performance all weekend required too much washing and we really all need a rest.
Thanks. I guess so multiple braids. Or maybe just one braid with coloured elastics from top to bottom. I can handle 10-15 elastics.
Tomorrow is PJ day. It makes sense why the school asked me to help serve pancakes! Wednesday is pink shirt day and Thursday is Purim, the only day at school the kids get to dress up all year.

It's probably too late but for future reference, loreal has a line of hair color called color-rista (or something like that) and now have the same colors in a spray so you can buy temporary hair color spray year round.

I would have braided her hair across her face.
