That's pretty rich from a guy who also is quoted as saying:

That is a theocracy, with Christ on the throne and the nations of the world confessing him. Someday His flag will wave over every nation in the world.""

Graham was a bigot to put it mildly, and his son has taken the Graham Foundation to the point of being declared a hate group. The adulation is because people were fooled just like they've been fooled by all the big evangelists. They talk Christianity but they sure don't behave in a Christian manner.

I lost all respect for both Billy Graham and the Southern Baptist Convention in 2000 when they declared that women were not worthy to teach the word of God nor lead men in worship. They had many churches with women pastors who were stripped of their congregations and all woman professors at the Theological Seminary were fired. It was also a time I came to greatly respect Jimmy Carter who resigned from the SBC in protest over this idiotic change in belief tenets. Graham's own daughter was a pastor and told she could no longer lead worship services.
I strongly protest the fact he is laying "in State" in the US capitol. He did not preach love, he preached hate of anyone who was not a white male!

I am not familiar with evangelists other than they seem to get caught up in sex scandals a lot. I gather however that Billy Graham wasn't one of them. I guess that was Jerry Falwell? Or Jim Bakker, Tammy Faye's husband? I know more abbot Tammy Faye than I do about all the rest of them put together, actually.
We did not have much to do with religion when I was growing up so I don't feel any certain way about Billy Graham at all.
