I feel like I've been in a rut over the past month and my pages are starting to look same-y. Last night I challenged myself to use an older kit/product to hopefully kick start my creativity. I pulled out an old (like, 2007/2008 old) Jenni Bowlin Halloween kit and created a fun layout! I love how it turned out. The papers and stickers are from Daisy D's... I haven't used Daisy D's products in forever. It felt great to create something out of my comfort zone!
Anyone else have an exciting scrapbooking accomplishment they want to share?

I pulled out the album that had bits and pieces and partially finished layouts of my daughter's sports years during high school. She graduated four years ago so I thought it was time to quit looking at the unfinished album and complete it. I actually used a lot of older papers because I had gone through originally and pulled a bunch together to use, so that was fun to see all the older stuff... and to realize that I still liked it! (And to realize that I scrap much "lumpier" than I did when I first started. Man, some of those completed layouts were FLAT! ) I still have a little bit of journaling to do but that will need to wait until she is home from college for Easter break to help me fill in the blanks. I love the satisfaction of a finished album!

My scrapbooking accomplishment is 'creatively' cutting down gorgeous 12x12 papers into 8.5x11. I have used all sorts of different methods to preserve all the intricacies of the 12x12, like covering up seams with bling.
I go through so much adhesive when I cut down paper and reattach it, and my friend says, "You should teach a class on that!" Yes, but who else but me wants to do it? Haha!

I rearranged and reorganized my craft room over the last few days. I am pretty much homebound caring for my MIL so it was a great thing to keep my mind occupied. I did start a layout last night. I am finding that sketches and scrap lifts are what I need to do right now. Concentration has been difficult. So I am just going with that.

Great thread!
I hit 200 process videos on my YouTube channel in January. And I've created lots of pages for the February challenges.

I've been stash busting and mixing old with some of the newer stuff I have. This is how I'm putting my sons' school of life albums together and I'm really happy I'm using up some stuff plus I'm pleased with how their pages are coming out.

ME You possess some serious cutting skills! I usually scrap 8.5x11 format unless it's a themed book. I have used the focal points on some of the large patterned papers as my embellishments in order to use the pretty backgrounds with borders already printed on them. The pages go together like some kind of paper piecing project.

I just used a ton of mixed media on a page. I had started and then was disappointed with the results. So, I started a new page. As I glanced at the other page repeatedly I decided I would just go with it. And I love the page!! So fun to play with stuff and have no expectations.

I’ve redone almost all of daughter’s first album and I’m so much happier with it. I have three or four layouts to go. My daughters are very supportive of my hobby but even they laughed when we compared the old and new layouts. They were pretty bad.

I've also been stash busting and am pretty pleased that I can almost fit all of my patterned papers back into their drawer.

Been on an organizing kick. I have been reorganizing my room and now I’m working my way through my acrylic stamps! Long process but I’m loving both the room and my new stamp system. DH’s birthday is next week so I HAVE to get the card done this weekend. Doesn’t sound like a daunting task but I always seem to struggle with masculine cards!

my accomplishment is more of a disaster-fix. i adhered something down with Scor Tape and then realized it was upside down. i didn't have extra of that paper so i had to use a heat gun to loosen the tape so i could peel the paper off. i swear my fingers go burned because they hurt for hours after that. but i got the paper off! LOL

I guess my biggest accomplishment lately has been learning to use my Silhouette and Minc. I purchased them in January with gc's I received as Christmas gifts. I am slowly figuring out how to convince them to do what I want them to. The Silhouette is a little easier for me to use b/c years ago I had a Wishblade, and the functions are still the same: just need to know what to look for. This morning I managed to adjust the size of the mat on the design screen back to 12 x 12 (for some reason it decided to switch to 9 x 12 a couple of weeks ago) The Minc is more of a challenge b/c it's completely new and I don't have a laser printer. Have been experimenting with reactive inks and paints with varying results. I think I need to learn to let go of the perfect image I think I will get, sort of like christieamber's realization about mixed media.

grammadee you will love your Silhouette! It is an awesome machine. 50offscrapper, I have been organizing, too, and it feels great! My studio finally looks somewhat tidy... until I'm mid-project, then it's a mess again! Lol.

I have finished making page kits for the first album of my mom's pictures from when my brother and I were kids. Now it is just a matter of actually putting the pages together! LOL!

I moved some furniture around (organizing..lol) and cleaned up..... I had jury duty yesterday and got out early.. went home instead of work.. got my 'chores' done for the weekend so I would have no excuse to scrapbook tonight and hopefully the weekend. Now I am ready for 5:00 which I just realized is in 5 MINUTES...
Edited to add.. since no one else has posted.. I got home.. messed around but forced my butt upstairs and scrapped. One layout.. lol
I used Wild Asparagus paper!! Remember that paper!! AND K&Co. metal corner things.. can't think of the names.. probably some of the oldest stuff I have... at least 15 years... lol

I did some shopping. Anyone who knows me will tell you I absolutely hate online shopping. But we no longer have any local stores so I've been forced to bite the bullet. It is pretty exciting to receive packages full of scrappy goodness!

The sheer fact that I scrapped at all tonight is darn near a miracle.
I finished one page, and scrapped another simple page.
I'm just not feeling it.

So, I completed another layout based on a sketch challenge. And I finally started a traveler's notebook with just stuff about my fiancé and I. I just love how it turned out too....I completed it with the Fancy Pants' kit from February. The notebook was amazing!!

I started working on a mini-album for my DD's birthday. It's a chronicle of her time at dance when she was on the competition team. I kinda miss those days, looking at the photos, but then I think of the hair, make-up, costume changes, coolers, etc...I'm glad it's over.

I finally scrapped a huge pile of photos I've been lugging to every crop for the past 3 years.
