Due to my own stupidity, I am having to replace my pots/pans. My mom got me the set I currently have years ago at the Wilton tent sale and I loved them. They have served me well but I don't know how much they cost. I don't do a lot of cooking so I don't need a fancy set. I do prefer non stick for my pans but have been seriously considering a switch to cast iron. I like having one larger pot for potatoes etc, a medium sized pot for other stuff and the set i had also had two smaller pots which were great for when I needed to just to heat up beans or a boiled egg.
Where is a good place to look for a midrange, simple set of pots/pans for someone who doesn't cook much.

I LOVE Rachel Ray. I use her spaghetti pot A LOT. For all my pasta's, and also for corn on the cob, crab legs, anything long. ha. I also have her longer lower skillet pan with lid, and I use that a lot. Those are the 2 pots I use a lot for cooking. I have 1 cast iron I use for steak, hamburgers. How do you get away with not cooking? what do you eat?

Calphalon. Buy it at tjs or Marshall's or home goods. It is made in Ohio.

How do you get away with not cooking? what do you eat? well I am in burrito rut. I don't eat meat so it cuts back on that. Most of what I eat at this time can be heated up in a micro or eating raw. I haven't been eating much of late thanks to a nasty bout of depression.

I'd look for individual pieces so you can get exactly what you want. TJ's has plenty as does Marshall's. You can pick and choose.
None of my pots and pans match. I got my cast iron Dutch oven from the hardware store, but I found a smaller used cast iron skillet and reconditioned it to where it works better than the new one I got.
A set might not have exactly what you are looking for.

I have found some very good pans at Tuesday Morning--not a set, just a saucepan.
I also have a set of Calphalon.
I do not recommend the nonstick coating in the pans (does anyone mfg those now?) It peels off and is easily scratched.

I don't know how good they are, officially. But we have a set of stainless Farberware that's going on 15 years, possibly even a bit longer. All except the one saucepan which was boiled dry.....twice (fwiw, even though I'm a terrible cook, I was not responsible for either time). We also have a few of the ceramic Calphalon skillets, they're great for eggs and stuff like that. We have cast iron pieces too (and a couple non-stick items, my dh is a kitchen gadget junkie) and honestly I hate it because I can't put it in the dishwasher. I use it for bacon, burgers and steak (though dh usually cooks those), that's it.

Got them at Bed, Bath & Beyond with a coupon. They have an anodized non stick style and a shiny stainless steel style.
