Beautiful tomatoes! I got an aerogarden for Christmas (thanks to the peas!) and am growing two types of basil, mint, and thyme. I LOVE my aerogarden and want another to grow cherry tomatoes. I literally use my herbs almost everyday!

Wow! My biggest challenge is figuring out where I'd put it so the cats didn't get into it, but I'm very impressed and thinking maybe I need to convert a closet or something.

I had no idea that you could grow full-size tomatoes in an aerogarden! We have a bunch of them at school that grow flowers, herbs, and salad greens, but tomatoes?? That got my attention! And thanks for the pics - very impressive!

I literally use my herbs almost everyday! I admit after my first one was producing herbs in a week, that I purchased two more and have one for salad greens, one for herbs, and one for tomatoes and peppers. We get a couple of salads per week from the salad greens, I use the herbs daily, and my tomatoes and peppers are coming on in only 2.5 months. I even set set up an AeroGarden for my 83 y.o. Mom in Los Angeles with salad greens and she is able to manage it and loves it too. They are definitely amazing set-ups and well worth it, IMO.

And thanks for the pics - very impressive! Just cherry tomatoes, not beefsteaks, but they are plentiful and tasty! The jalapeños may end up being full sized peppers on small plants.

My AeroGarden is being quite prolific. I planted the tomatoes near the end of December and the Jalapeño in January. Between the 3 mini cherry tomato plants, I have at least 200 tomatoes ripening and the jalapeños grow visibly from Morning to night. Even my husband, who rolled his eyes when I set up my AeroGardens is a huge fan now. dammit. enabler. googling...

elaine DD was just talking about figuring how to grow stuff including tomatoes in her apartment. I think I may get her one with Kohls cash, sale and 30% discount. MARCH30 gets 30% off thru 3/7/2018 <<<FYI for anyone interested. The Miracle-Gro AeroGarden Harvest LED with Gourmet Herb Seed Pod Kit is on sale now- the plastic/not stainless model, I believe My question(s) to you: which model do you have? are your aerogardens the six section ones? can you use all six sections at once when growing the tomatoes of do you need to leave some empty to allow space for growth? or can you plant a couple tomatoes and fill rest with herbs- taking less space? any other tips/suggestions/warnings? thanks in advance! signed, pest

I started with the Harvest that I purchased at Target, because it was on sale and I had an additional Black Friday coupon. The Harvest is the base model that holds 6 pods. I bought it in white, but wish I had gone with a model that has a black deck, because the nutrients pool along the seams and show. It takes a lot of cleaning to keep the deck looking somewhat clean, but it is a losing battle. I am growing my salad greens in there - 1 Deer Tongue, 2 arugula, 2 romaine, and 1 tatsoi. The 2 Bounties I bought at Amazon when there was a pre-Christmas sale for only $167 a piece - it was over $100 off per unit. In my first Bounty I have my herbs - parsley, basil, dill, mint, thyme, cilantro, rosemary, oregano and chives. And then in my second Bounty, I have 3 cherry tomatoes and 2 jalapeños, but one of the jalapeños isn’t doing well because it just doesn’t get enough light due to the tomatoes. I put covers over 4 of the pod openings. There really is only space for 3 tomatoes and one other plant at most. The tomatoes are so dense and big that they block the light needed for the other plants. I like ordering the pods pods directly from the AeroGarden store because you can customize your kit. For instance, I really wanted rosemary, which isn’t included in the standard herb kits, so I put together a custom herb pod kit. The website always has a coupon. I have yet to have a pod not sprout, but it does happen. AeroGarden is very good about letting you exchange it for a new one. The AeroGardens aren’t cheap, but they work, are idiot-proof, and have allowed me to have fresh herbs for cooking available in the dead of winter. And, well, TOMATOES!

Enabler! I think my semi retired husband needs one. I was just offering my big ceramic pots on the deck to him for cherry tomatoes this summer. Since we still have 2 feet of snow and a Nor’ Easter coming, this may be nice in the interim.
I bought him an ice cream maker last summer when there were threads on them and it was a huge success! He keeps a little notebook of the recipes and results. He just made a nice coffee ice cream with some coffee liquor he had made several years ago.

That is impressive! I've seen those on QVC and Amazon and reviews have been mixed. Given our limited growing season here, I may have to consider.
