Does anyone know if there's a site or information anywhere that would show different templates/layouts for how to get as many photos/PL cards to print on one sheet of paper (whether it be 8.5x11, 13x19 etc)? I want to maximize as many photos/cards on one sheet as possible.
I know that Jessica Upton from Color Cast Designs does this with her wide-format printer on a 13x19 sheet. I heard her talk about it on a recent podcast with Jess Forster/Pocket Talk. I believe she said she made her own templates in PS or PSE and just plugs in what photos or PL cards she wants in the template.
I am capable of doing that but am looking for them already completed and available elsewhere. Not to mention I don't have extra time to sit and do it.
I'm wondering if a digital/hybrid site would have templates available. I've seen several for 12x12 but I'm looking more for 8.5x11 or 13x19 ones.
Thanks!

I work from a PC. I used to use PicMonkey, but I dropped them when they started requiring payment. Now there are two programs that I use. One is PhotoSheet by Photility, and I may have payed a few dollars for the app. It has a bunch of template presets, and it's very very easy and quick to use. Unfortunately, I'm limited to using the presets, so if that doesn't work for me I use my other go-to, BeFunky. BeFunky is free, and you can use it for photo editing and collage making. I often use it for setting odd sized photos to print on standard size paper. It's harder to work than PhotoSheet but you can do so much more with it. I can't recommend it enough.

I use the collage print feature on Picasa and set the parameters to 8.5x11. Then I drag my photos over to it and see what works.

A long time ago I bought an HP printer and the photo software it came with was amazing!! You would go thru the pictures you wanted to print and the different sizes you wanted them and the software would automatically configure them to fit depending on the size of paper you where using. Since then I have searched for something similar and can't find anything similar. So now I use Photo Sheet and go thru and do things myself manually.

I was pondering this in bed last night. During my usual 2.30am wake-up session it occurred to me that Silhouette Studio could give you a layout, but I'd need to try it and see if my idea will work. I don't know what edition you have but Nesting could do the job. That will organise shapes on a page to make the best use of space. Now I've found it a little random but it's a place to start. Also, would set templates work? What if one week you have more 3 x 4 photos or cards than another but the template has spaces for 4 x 6? If you did want fixed templates and could give me an idea of numbers then I could probably do you a couple of Photoshop templates. I'd be happy to try; I love fiddling with things like that! After breakfast....Silhouette Studio can do a passable job but it still takes a bit of fiddling. Not an ideal solution for someone with limited time. I've emailed you a Photoshop template. Let me know if the general idea is any good and what improvements I can make. Right, tea break for me

I saw the email and the file and will try this out probably this weekend unless I can open it here at work lol! I am so excited! THANK YOU!! ((hugs)) As far as my Silhouette software goes I have the Design Edition but haven't updated to the latest software because I'm terrified to lose my library like it seems so many have. I know if I back it up properly that I won't have that issue. The issue I have is not having enough time to sit and do it lol. Using their software is a good idea though. I always love when I need to cut multiples of something and tell it to fill the page and voila! I think set templates would be wonderful. As much as I love the thought and idea of varying page protector designs for my PL album, I find it more stressful. I think if I just stuck to one or two page designs it would be much less time-consuming and I'd be a lot more productive. It seems so much less creative but sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.

Once you get into a frame of mind to get the simplest of pages done regularly you'll find you'll find time to be creative. At least that's what happens for me; do simple stuff regularly then throw in something fancy Before updating Silhouette there's a post you should read. About not just backing up the Library but reindexing it. I'll see if I can find it again....

I just wanted to refresh myself with this thread and then realized that I never replied to this post of yours. No rush at all about the thread about reindexing. I'll get to that soon and then I'll 689 questions lol!

Hi there! A friend told me about this post, so I joined the forum so I could find it and respond to you! I do have templates that I created and would be happy to send them to you. Just send me an email (jessica at colorcastdesigns dot com) and I will get them to you. I use them for two 9x12 pocket page spreads. The way my templates are set up is for all photos with a white boarder. Now I used them to create my entire spreads, meaning photos and journaling cards and then print onto Epson Ultra Premium Matte Presentation Paper. In Photoshop, I just turn off the layers where photos would go if I want to put a journaling card there. This is so the journaling card doesn't have a white boarder. I keep meaning to do an insta story with my process, I will try to get that going this week so be sure you are following me there Jessica_upton I hope that this all makes sense. If not, ask away!

Oh my gosh, THANK YOU so much for offering them up! That was not my reason for posting at all but I would love to take you up on your offer! I was listening to Jess Forster's podcast and heard you talk about how you do your printing for PL and it just stuck with me (I rewound and listened to that part a few times to make sure I had it right in my mind lol). I've been on the hunt ever since. The 9x12 format is hard to come by as far as templates go! I've also recently purchased a Canon Pixma Pro-100 wide-format printer so I can't wait to get crackin' lol. I'm assuming your process would work the same in PSE? An Instastory would be wonderful and appreciated! It means so much that you took the time to register and search this post out to reply to. Thanks also to your friend who passed it along to you! And...welcome! We'd love for you to stick around! There are lots of Color Cast customers and fans among us peas also!

Ok, so I am totally new to this forum and for the life of me can't figure out how to reply to each of your response *blushing right now* so it is just going to be one big reply for now until I figure this out. thank you so much for the warm welcome! I will definitely stick around. And hopefully figure things out quickly. Yes, It would totally work in PSE also. I am so glad you loved the Podcast episode. I adore Jess and love being on her podcast. So fun! You are going to LOVE your wide format printer. It is my favorite scrapbooking tool. Ok, I will be on the lookout for your email!
