We found a huge fat frog in the garden in my parent's house (city) and I usually find salamanders in my yard. We did dig up an old milk bottle as well. What (strange) things have you found in your garden?

Some arrowheads. Not strange but fascinating.

not in my garden, but in our backyard... the next door neighbor has a huge pine tree very close to the wall, and I found an owl pellet on the ground underneath the tree limbs. I took it apart (former biology major, here, lol) and there were tiny little bones, fur, etc. from a mouse or some such animal. The skull was partly intact, so I could see the jaw bones and some teeny, tiny teeth. It was pretty cool!

We found the jawbone of a raccoon while raking pine straw in our yard.

We found tons of things in my dad's garden when I was a kid. A very powerful tornado planted a garage roof vertically right in the garden. For the next 25 years, we found nails, boards, lumber, etc. Debris worked its way up as the frost came out of the ground.

I will occasionally find an action figure my son has left behind after playing with them in the raised garden beds.

I found a bong stuffed in the fence between our house and the teenagers who lived next door. That was years ago and I've been using that bong ever since.

i found a giant praying mantis in the exact location on my dwarf orange tree on different days. it freaked me out because it was so huge and it was in the exact spot from before. it wasn't dead because it jumped when i jigged the branch.
oh, and i found my dog's stuffed Minnie Mouse doll in one of the planters. he always feels the need to bring a stuffed animal with him when he goes pee. it's the weirdest thing. he usually drops them off on the cement walk before going on the grass so it was weird to find Minnie in the planter.

We kept finding those little hooks you screw in for hanging up your keys in our front flower bed and driveway. We never used them so I have no idea where they came from. Every time I dig in the front, I find one. I'm thinking the previous owner used them to hang lights but just unscrewed them and left them on the ground.

We found where deer had sampled every single almost ripe cantaloupe one night. Ugh. We would have shared. Completely eat a few, but a bite from each??

I found a wooden wishing well ( about 5 ft tall ) in the middle of my rear lawn after a particularly wild windy night. It had travelled from 4 houses down . Luckily it didn't do any damage, neither in our garden or on the way to it !

Found a box of hollow point ammunition buried in the flower bed years ago when we lived on a military base.
Our next door neighbor found a nest of rats.

The thing that freaked me out the most was a snake skin up close to the deck. Once, while digging, we found a jawbone of a small dog, it looked like. I’m thinking it was a buried pet. If any future owners start digging after we are gone, they’re in for a surprise. I think we are up to 6 cats and 2 guinea pigs buried in our yard.

Not strange but plentiful, we find TONS of little white buttons in our garden. We use to keep them but it's like why we'll never use them, granted it would be pretty cool to have made something with them or see just how full that jar would be now. My house was built in 1818 and I'm sure back then trash was burned or buried so hence a ton of buttons. I wonder if they are made from bone that they are still intact.

Growing up we used to visit distant elderly relatives on their farm, and there was an area where trash used to be buried. Us kids were always out there digging up old glass bottles, broken tools, dishes etc.

At different times while digging flower beds and laying out new sidewalk and step areas we have found 3 different Native American artifacts. The first one is a stone ball, perfectly round, about 4 1/2 inches in diameter. We had an OMSI scientist look at it and it was determined to be a game ball. Another time we found my favorite... a lovely small stone pestle. It's worn very smooth and fits perfectly in your hand. By turning it you can feel exactly how it was held and used through the millennia. And the last thing we found was a partially knapped arrow head made from a piece of green malachite that had been traded by Native Americans who came down the Columbia River from further east, the stone probably coming out of Montana.

When I was a kid, I found a marijuana plant (small) in my personal flower garden. Now, it does legit grow wild in some places, and this yard did back up to a huge field (acres upon acres). But...I just don't know I believe that's where it came from!

When I was in my 20s my dad built a swimming pool in the garden (North of England, no heating, didn’t get used much!!). Over time, in it, we found a dead blotted toad, a dead cat and the most unusual of all, a live fully grown cow, which after very much effort from my dad, the farmer and a very large pole was successfully rescued!

bagels. we threw out old food and table scraps for the critters (lived in the country) and our outdoor German Shepherd would steal any bagels and bury them in the garden. wouldn't bury anything else, just the bagels.

Old toys from probably the fifties. Not too much. Where we lived was all built in the early fifties

Our house is on what was a farm from the turn of the century through the '30s. Our house is down the hill from where the old house stood. I constantly find little pieces of broken Blue Willow-looking china in our yard, sometimes while digging, and sometimes just erupted up onto the top of the ground. I guess our lot was the location of their own personal "dump". They must have either been clumsy, or had anger management issues. I grew up in a family of six, and we rarely broke dishes, but these folks had to have gone through a set of china a year. I've collected everything I've found, and want to make a mosaic with it one day.

I was enjoying my coffee one morning and looked out the back window to find 3 chickens in our backyard. We live in the middle of a housing development and have a fenced in yard so it was totally unexpected and strange! We have farms about 1 mile away so that is the only place they could have come from. Chickens are not allowed in our neighborhoods plus we would have heard them if they came from a nearby neighbors house. It was so strange they picked our backyard between the farms and all the houses they passed to get to ours. They even had to cross multiple roads to get here. ![(rofl)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/rofl.png) They were very pretty and looked well taken care of, so we let them stay in the back yard for a few days in case someone came looking for them. No one ever did, so they went to my sisters house who had some property to keep them.
