I could see buying the Flintstone house before some of the other weird homes we have looked at. After all, atleast its the Flinstone's house vs. some home thats just full of weird oddball junk.

It was for sale for a long time! Growing up it was white, the current colors are interesting. I actually just commented to dh recently that they had done new landscaping. It's an icon for sure!

Oh my gosh, that house is hideous! (in my opinion...) sooo much rough stucco inside- all I can think about is how easily dog hair would stick to that. lol!!

Huh, for some reason I find it reminds me more of a cross between the Yellow Submarine & the Wienermobile.

I used to think it was made to resemble an igloo.

They must have gone over budget when they decided to add the DYI styrofoam "decorations" inside the window.

Haha I know exactly which house you are talking about w/o looking. I loved, as a child, seeing that house on 280 on the way up to San Francisco.

I always loved driving by and looking at that house. I could never figure out who would want to buy it and live there. It was for sale over and over again for years. Before it was painted white, it was a beige. I love what this latest owner has done with it. She really embraced it. But I still wouldn’t want to live there.

A bit quirky but I can see why someone might want it - very different but also kind of fun.

A bit quirky but I can see why someone might want it - very different but also kind of fun. It would be fun to tour it once she's done with all her improvements. Now I wonder if she can convince the powers that be to turn the Junipero Serra statue so that it's now pointing towards her house:

I looked a the photos of the inside. WTH with the stove in the kitchen? Or is that a giant microwave?
And, stucco shelves? nope, could not live there. I don't like to dust and those rough finish surfaces would collect dust and cat hair like crazy.
Essentially, it is just too unique for my taste.

We just drove past that on 280 yesterday, I was amazed at all the changes! Especially the dinosaurs! I remember when it was white.

Although not for me, I can totally see how someone could enjoy it.. .I like how the inside is decorated.. it's not like one of those WAY overdone houses with mirrors and junk all over the place. I see someone who is very artsy living there...

It definitely is a house where you would have to embrace the aesthetic... it's kind of interesting, after seeing the gallery with the pics of the furniture, funky artwork etc. And the views from the house are amazing! But the thought of ALL that rough stucco-- Even inside the open shelving in the kitchen! It just makes my skin crawl, almost, knowing that everything would catch on it. And since they're domes, the walls curve in towards the ceiling, which would make it tough for hanging artwork.

I could live there! The kitchen is my least favorite room, but it would be ok.
