But I love it! We used to be able to get black licorice ice-cream when I was a kid (think Tiger Tail, only without the orange). I swear it turned our lips black for days but it was so worth it. Off-topic, but where do you live? The only place we've ever seen Tiger Tail ice cream is in Carcross, YT, CA so I assume it's a Canadian thing? (admittedly, I haven't searched for it, but it's not something we have here in Washington State that I know of). They also had Rolo ice cream which was like a dream come true for DS. Toronto. So tiger tail isn’t a thing in the US?!? Both that and Rolo ice-cream are widely available at grocery stores here.

NO WAY! That is too weird!
Why?
Because yesterday and the day before I had neon green poop. I figured the culprit had to be the four chewy licorice candies I ate (like caramels, but black). Thank you, you confirmed it for me!
Isn't that strange!

Like the black ones, like Allsorts, and remember buying Nibs candy which were little soft black licorice bites when I was a kid. Yes, I too am a licorice person.
Edited to add: ROLLO ICE CREAM? Holy moly, that sounds awesome!!!!!!

When I was little, we had a neighbor who loved the black jelly beans, so at Easter, I would go over and give him mine.
I will eat a couple now, but I don't want a whole bag of them.

I absolutely hate the smell and taste of licorice and black jelly beans. I don't even want them in the house. My uncle gave me Sambuca in my coffee, and I couldn't even drink it with that awful smell.
I've been like that since I was little -- my mom loves the taste and always had something black licorice flavored hanging around the house. Blech!

Remember a while back when Burger King was serving that burger with the black bun? Apparently that caused the same after effect! WTHeck was Burger King thinking?! I must have missed that because I don't remember it at all. And one black jelly bean is too many.

Here’s a NBC news link talking about it. ~linky~ I never ate one, it looked way too weird for me plus I don’t like A-1.

Well...let’s just say I found out. TMI below: Fun fact: Too many black jelly beans can cause your poo to turn a weird shade of green. I love black licorice! That is too funny! Guess you ate a few..hahahaha.

You either love them or you hate them.
I can't even handle the smell of them.

It's the glycyrrhizinic acid in the black ones - or even licorice in general. They suggest going easy on them if there are heart or stroke issues because of the link between potassium and hypertension. I had no idea! Just googled it. Luckily, this is just an Easter season treat for me. I’ll limit myself to just a few at a time until the bag is gone. (yes—I bought a whole bag). I support you! I've eaten two bags this month -- my annual allotment. LOVE black jelly beans!

There is no such thing as too many black jelly beans. The best thing about them, other than the taste, is when you stick your tongue out at someone it is black and icky. My husband hates them and I love to ask for a kiss and gross him out.

I would have said there ISN'T such a thing as too many black jelly beans, but after reading your spoiler, I say "ewww." I love black jelly beans but I don't think I would ever eat enough of them at one time to do THAT!
they are yummy, though...
eta: only black jelly beans or anise flavored hard candies / horehound (or licorice flavored Necco wafers, lol), for me, though... those other kinds of licorice flavored things are nasty.

I love all things black licorice. Every so often we'll find the bags of all black jelly beans but haven't seen them this year. I don't even like regular jelly beans, only the black ones.

I love black jelly beans. Ironically I think jelly beans are disgusting- EXCEPT the black ones! Lol I’ve noticed I can’t find the bags of just black jelly beans like I used to be able to in the candy section. Now if I wanted them I’d have to go to one of those jelly belly dispensers and get the black ones. I also like good and plenty. I don’t eat regular black licorice whips/sticks just red ones. Red vines only - no twislers - I’m not crazy!

To answer the question, one is too many -- hate them. But, I watched The Office over the weekend and you brought back a Dwight scene where he rummages through Pam's candy jar and takes out all the black ones to eat. Of course those are the only ones Dwight Schrute would like!

My aunt used to make pizzelle cookies at Christmas. I wouldn't eat them because of the anise, so she'd make some without just for me (and whoever else couldn't stand it).
