new TH stamping platform. I'm so upset with myself. I was trying to clean up to get started and it fell on the floor. The lid cracked across the top, all the way through. Has anyone successfully repaired a broken platform, or will I need to buy another?

Oh no!! You might want to contact Tonic and see if you can buy a replacement lid piece without having to buy a whole new platform.
Sorry, I don't know anything about repairing, but I'm guessing it'll help if you post a picture to show the extent of the break/crack and its placement. Someone might be able to suggest a glue or something.

Wow-what kind of floor was it? I'm kind of surprised it would break so easily with just a short fall. I hope they can work with you.

Oh, man! I'd be so sad if that happened.
There still 50% off at JoAnn's and $2.99 shipping with the code 299SHIP. But as others suggested I'd try contacting Tonic today.

It's a through break, totally detached from the hinge area. We have hardwood floors. I guess they are really hard! Thanks for the suggestion to contact Tonic. I never even thought to see if they sell replacement pieces.

If it's the lid that's cracked, you should be able to buy a new one. Aren't the lids interchangeable? Definitely contact Tonic. If it were Ranger, I wouldn't count on a replacement, but Tonic appears to have better customer service.

I just received a reply from Tonic which said, "unfortunately, we do not sell replacement lids".
So bummed I missed that Joann's sale now!

I was hoping they would sell spare lids. It might be possible to use some strong epoxy to glue it back together, but I don't know if it would last very long, due to the pressure of stamping. I just checked JoAnn and it's still listed at $19.99. Hurry! and order one.

Wow, I'm surprised they wouldn't do anything to help you. I guess we all need to be extra careful with them (sound familiar? LOL)

Does your credit card by any chance have purchase protection for damage of items you paid for with your credit card? I have one card that will replace anything lost. stolen or damaged within 30 days of purchase. Sometimes, we don't read or remember all the fine print and may not know what "little" benefits there is on some of our cards.

That's disappointing. So if you break either of the lids, you have to buy a whole new platform. If the lids are interchangeable, they should be available separately. SMH

I was thinking of replacing my defective, deteriorating Misti with the TH model but if these lids are interchangeable and they won't help a customer with a damaged unit, I certainly don't want to support such a company. Customer Service is so very important. She is not asking for a free replacement. It doesn't seem like it would be that major of a thing for them to do. I think I will send them an e-mail, refer to this thread and express my disappointment to them. They have certainly missed a golden opportunity to earn positive, good publicity as a company who cares about their customers and it would not have cost them anything but a bit of time if she paid the cost plus shipping. I think someone made a pretty poor decision that casts their company in a poor light and leaves a very bad taste in my mouth and probably that of many others. Kind of a "DUH" Customer Service moment, you know?

That is really disappointing that they don't sell a replacement lid. I'm sure you aren't the first to break it and won't be the last. I too think they missed the boat on this. Hopefully they will change it soon!

That is disappointing, but considering the retail price being what it is (or was when first released), it might cost close to the JoAnn's price, anyway, plus shipping. Maybe a replacement bought from JoAnn's would be a better deal, if the $19.99 price is still good.

Yes, they did miss out on an opportunity to really shine with their customer service. A few months ago, I lost a stamp from a set that I had bought from Inky Antics at a show. I actually lost the stamp; it wasn't defective. I emailed the company and asked them if I could buy that one stamp to replace the one I had lost. I told them I knew it was a long shot, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I was completely ready to either be told no or given a price for a replacement. To my surprise and delight, Inky Antics replaced the entire stamp set for me - at no charge + free shipping! I had the replacement in about a week. Now THAT'S customer service!

I hadn't thought of this before so I'll look into it. Thanks! I haven't given in to purchasing a new one yet. I really want to get the same model but I'm wondering what their response would be if something happened to it that wasn't my fault. I can understand not replacing anything that I caused to break, though it would be great to get extra parts like you can for any other appliance.
