And were they worth it?
DH and I are going on our anniversary. It's a milestone one and I'm considering booking one of the Animal Kingdom (or AKL) tours as a special event. I don't want to splash out on something that's just so-so though and DH is hard to impress.

I've only done one at Epcot - not at AKL - but it was well-done. I think one of the night time safaris would be fun.

We did the Wild Africa Trek for DH's 50th birthday a few years ago and loved it! We plan on doing it again one day. It'll be even more fun now I think because they have a baby hippo that you might get to see a bit closer than you normally would. The walking part was fairly easy, the guides were great and even me with my incredible fear of heights really liked the walk over the alligators (that's how much I love DH!). But for me, the best part was the extended safari tour with stops for taking pictures and the breakfast across from the flamingo and wandering herd areas. We took the first tour of the day so that the animals would be a bit more active than later in the day. The tour price included a metal water bottle, pin and a photo CD - totally worth it. I would definitely recommend this one!

I have just done little ones at DL, but they are great fun, well done, and I would LOVE to do one of the safari ones at AK.

We stayed concierge at AKL and did the Sunrise Safari. It was awesome and is one of my favorite Disney memories with our oldest grandson.

Well since you're twisting my arm. LOL
I may skip a couple of table service meals so DH doesn't flip over the cost of a tour. Now to decide which one!

I've always wanted to - especially at MK but sadly, no experience with them.

We have done the Keys to the Kingdom tour at Magic Kingdom at really liked it (actually doing it again my younger dd who just turned 16). It goes goes behind the scenes and tells a lot about why the Park is the way it is, also takes you into the utilidors under the Magic Kingdom. Takes you on a few rides and gives the history of them too.

We are doing the Keys to the Kingdom Tour in August! I'm so excited! And if you have the Disney Visa, you receive a 15% discount! I'm not sure which tours the discount covers, but if it's on sale....then DH can't complain because it's practically free! LOL

This is basically same thing DH says when he's bought something, so what's good for him is good for me, right? LOL

Surprisingly, the Keys to the Kingdom Tour is "only" $99/person (before the discount). It's a 5 hour tour and includes a quick service lunch. See....practically free!!

We did the Wild Africa Trek at Animal Kingdom and it was amazing! It included a safari lunch and there were only about 12 of us with 3 tour guides.

I would find it fascinating, DH and DD probably wouldn’t be all that interested though.

I've been wanting to do a trip to DL with just my DH (kids are 22 and 20 and shouldn't be too bent to miss a Disney trip, however, when I mentioned it to my DD yesterday, she said "I want to go" so I guess not).

We did it during the 50th anniversary ('05), so I'm not sure what has changed, but it was interesting, and worth the money. It included a commemorative pin, a box lunch, and coupon for a Mickey ice cream bar.

I've only done a very tiny one at The Land in EPCOT, but it was totally worth whatever the fee was at the time.

My all time favorite Disney tour is Backstage Magic. It takes all day (7-8 hours), includes lunch, and takes you backstage at all 4 parks. We went under the MK to see tour the utilidors, visited the costume shop, the paint shop, some of the greenhouses (where they were prepping for the Flower and Garden Festival so they were creating the topiaries), went backstage at American Adventure in Epcot, visited the animals the parade storage area in Animal Kingdom. It was a jam packed day with an amazing tour guide. I looked forward to this tour forever and once we finally did it, I wanted to do it again and again!
