msliz , when's your next crop? I wish I knew. The April crop is an overnighter for a 3 day weekend, and I can't get away for that long so I had to pass. Nothing is announced for May yet but I'm still hoping she'll put something together. Next week we're supposed to finally get some nicer temperatures, and DD14 will be on break. I probably won't get much scrapping done after that point, so I need to make good use of this coming week. I'm so glad your DD is alright. My DD with the health issues fell in the shower last month, but she got lucky in that she only suffered a few bruises. She won't shower or even use the stairs unless someone is home with her. scrapincin, I'm so happy you're home where you belong!

good Monday morning! I am so glad to be home.Slept 2 nights in my owm bed! I have been up since 4but I am still HOME! As Dorothy says there is no place like home! I have to make a lot of phone calls today scheduling appointments etc. Just made my own breakfast Hurray. Feeling almost real and the sun is coming up. Again I appreciate your thoughts and prayers! They mean so much and got me home alive! I hope to spend some of this time in my scrap room since I can't do much of anything else. I will be getting Physical Therapy here at home but that is about it. nylene I sure hope you have a safe trip home and enjoyed your visit with Sammie and Topher, and Alex. grammadee Hope you and your DH have fun at the hockey game-it sounds like a lot of fun. @elaynef your card was so pretty and uplifting Thank you again. scrapincin, it is always so much more relaxing to be in our own beds and home. Take it easy and get your rest! Let your family look after you. kellyr21, I'm glad you had a restful weekend. Those are the best. Especially when you're with your honey. msliz, ouch for your dd. That must have been a really good scare for her. I hope she feels better soon - physically and mentally. My dd is constantly falling/tripping even over thin air just walking across a room. - That new lss I found doesn't do crops in the summer. I found that weird, as I'm more apt to want to go in the summer when it's nice out. They have a 3 day retreat in October, but I don't think I'll be attending it. I'm looking at a couple of others. Waving Hi to everyone! I did get in my craft room again last night. I started a page and hope to finish it today after the other chores.

Good morning, Ladies! Great to hear from you again, scrapincin. And glad you are home and sleeping in your own bed. Having the physio come to you is wonderful: you can use your energy to do what you have to do to fully recover. Make sure you get plenty of rest, and if playing with your scrap supplies helps you relax and heal, then do that. For those 3 day retreats, LisaDV and msliz, can you register for just one of the days and treat it like a one day crop? Our LSS has two retreats per year: one in April and one in October. There are participants who come only for the Saturday, or they come Friday evening and pack up Saturday evening. That way they get some crafting time, but then can get the other weekend day with their families. Hoping to hear you have arrived home safely, too, nylene and have had a good rest. And excited to hear about your trip. We arrived home yesterday evening. It was a great experience and ds and I have been sharing photos. I have action shots he wants to share on social media of him on the ice with former NHL stars. He has sent me team shots and selfies with these guys for my scrapbook. The event raised over half a million dollars for the Heart and Stroke Association. Win/win/win! On our way home, we stopped in at a Mennonite church for their youth group's evening Easter choral service. They invite all the neighbours to attend these special events, and we had received an invitation by email just before we left for Saskatoon. Beautiful voices, blended amazingly. Afterward they served delicious Easter baking, and we had a great time visiting with those at our table. Of course I WANT to scrap today, but I have a bunch of other stuff to do. (is there an emoji pouty face?) I did some sketching in the hotel room Saturday night, and have some ideas for something I can add to my drawings for the 100 Days project, but other than that I will be art-less today. SOOO looking forward to that April crop!

I am home and had no idea about Cindy until I got an email from her. She warned me before I read the thread and panicked. I still panicked! Called her and we chatted for a while. It makes you realize how precarious life is and how precious. Hang in there, sweet scrapincin ! We love you! Sending prayers and hugs. LisaDV , congrats on your anniversary. Sorry to read about your DD's fall. I'm glad her elbow is OK. Sounds like a nice Easter except for the little chickie. Your ducks sound so cute splashing in the water. @elaynef , a wedding on the beach sounds like a fun experience. Even better that the bride says you can wear what you want. I agree with the apron! I love your Easter garden. Your signs are beautiful. grammadee , did I miss how the hockey game turned out? I know a lot of $ was raised, but how did your DS play. You are such an energizer bunny...I don't know how you keep up with all your challenges. This sounds like a fun one for 100 days. I need to catch up at home and then may join late if that's allowed. msliz , I'm sorry your DD had a fall. I wish there were a magic wand that could instantly diagnose and treat these obscure ailments. As long as I'm wishing I wish all the Pokey Peas' ailing DD's could be healed instantly. We can wish and dream. Your crops sound like fun. There don't seem to be any around here anymore. Card Club is fun and we learn new things, but it's not like getting pages done. kellyr21 , I can't tell you how much I loved seeing the palm trees in CA. Now I have my grandchildren pointing them out to me constantly. They are beautiful and so different from what we have in Utah and Idaho. I hope you get a chance to create this week. I love seeing your work. justjac , it sounds like you have had a nice break. I'm glad you arrived home safely. Are you in the 100 Challenge with grammadee ? woodysbetty , I am wondering if you are involved in the challenges this month. I really enjoyed your pages you posted in Feb. Our trip was nice. I got a lot of "grandchildren time!" We had car trouble, but the dealership was very helpful and fixed it quickly. The $2000 wasn't fun though! We had some tender mercies that it got us to our destination and the dealership was only 12 minutes from DD's home. They had it fixed by that evening because they knew we were on vacation with kids and needed it. I really can't complain. DH said you either have car payments or repair as a car gets older. We opted for repair for a few more years. We are so grateful that it didn't happen out in the middle of Nevada or the Utah Salt Flats. That is some very desolate country. I'm behind in everything and have piles of laundry to do today. I'll check back later to comment on the layouts.

scrapincin, I totally forgot last post: Are you planning something big for your 50th anniversary? That is just 4 short years away. Don & I have been married 16years. But he'll tell you it could have been longer if I would have just dated him in college. lol. We both needed to mature a bit more though. Although it makes me think of this story. We (me and some friends) picked Don up at his house for a concert in the Chicagoland area. His mom told me after we started dating that he told her that day that he was going to marry me. That was 26 years ago. nylene, sorry to hear about the car trouble, but I'm so glad you had a good time. woodysbetty, I didn't know you teach yoga. That's so cool. My dd does yoga for her exercise time. She just uses youtube and I always hope she's doing it right. grammadee, glad you're home, safe, and that you had a good trip. I know you have lots of plans through the month before your crop at the end, so what's next on your agenda? The LSS retreat only allows you to buy for all of the days of crop and it's $225 if you don't sleep at the hotel. More if you do. They just went a little too ritzy for my blood. I could get a room at Don's hotel in GR for his negotiated work rate and bring my own things to work on and have a whole room to myself and spend less for 3 nights, which I've really been thinking about. It may be the only way I ever finish my great niece's quilt. She'll be 5 and it was suppose to be for her first year. There is also a little camp (I think it's Mennonite) that does 3-4 retreats a year for $150, much more my price range. I'm not against getting away, I prefer that, I'm just against the cost. The ritzy hotel for when I will be crafting the whole time seems wasteful. I only like to waste my time, not my money. I called to reschedule the w/d delivery yesterday. It'll be delivered on the 17th. I had to run out to pick up dd's medicine, so I also picked up some sweat pants for ds. It was either go to the laundromat again, or buy him some new sweat pants. I figure it's about the same cost, maybe even cheaper to just buy the sweat pants. Of course, I really like to wash them before he wears them, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Don's gone today and tomorrow for work, but then he leave Friday for a week. I'm hoping to get many chores completed so I can play a bit more next week. So with that I'll get off of here and start those stinky chores. have a wonderful day, Pokeys!

woodysbetty , I didn't know you teach yoga. That's so cool. My dd does yoga for her exercise time. She just uses youtube and I always hope she's doing it right. LisaDV I have been teaching yoga for about ten years. It was my retirement goal to get my certification and teach after I retired from the DOJ ( 28 years of inmate management was enough!!). I am also a certified yoga therapist with IAYT and love what I am doing. Don't worry about your daughter following videos, most practitioners start that way, but it never hurts to drop in a take class from a teacher in person.

Good Tuesday morning, Pokeys! Hope you are continuing to feel better, scrapincin. Glad you got home safely, nylene. Glad you had a good time with the kids. Sorry to hear about your car trouble. I love the way you can see the little blessings when you describe these crises. I also like your dh's attitude about choosing to spend on buying new or paying for repairs. To answer your question about ds's hockey tournament, it was never about winning the tournament in the traditional sense. The participants were all raising money for the Heart & Stroke Foundation, and he got to play in the Grand Finale game b/c he was one of the top ten fund raisers. Each team in the round robin part of the tournament had one NHL player. In the final game, they got to play with all 16 of the stars, so it was a really special experience for him. For us it was fun to see him play hockey again, but also to see the skills these NHL guys have: they make the whole process seem so effortless. And those stars were having fun, too, so it was a positive experience for all. Good to see you posing and meeting challenges this month, LisaDV. And that you will have even more time to play next week. Glad you are finally ready for the washer/dryer. Bet you will be happy to have that overwith. You asked what is keeping me from scrapping right now. Just regular chores that have been put off too long, and Dh and I are working on taxes this week and plan to meet with the accountant on Thursday. After that I will have a few days in which I might get to play, but I will also be setting things aside for the retreat. My ddil asked me to come out to Abbotsford to stay with the girls while she is away, so I will be there for almost a week, and will have only two days between when I get home from there and then leave for the crop, so I really should get my act together before I leave for the airport on the 19th. Bet you are looking forward to the wedding, @elaynef, even if you will be doing some of the cooking. Always nice to be surrounded by family and friends. Hope you are adjusting to being back at work this week, justjac. I finally have a couple of cards to share. I needed to have them ready to put in the mail by the end of this week, and after I got the brainwave of how to use the emoji papers for dgs's card, I could finally get it finished. I tried doing foiling a couple of different ways for the second card and finally decided to just apply the foil directly to the card. April bd's by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Anyway, I need to refill my coffee and then get back to the numbers crunching...

scrapincin, it's been a few days since you've popped on to say anything. You don't have to respond to anyone, just let us know how you're doing!!!grammadee, those dang chores. They are always getting in the way of crafting. But I'm sure you are super excited to go see more grands. Good luck finishing the chores. woodysbetty, Wow! Inmate management. You are one tough cookie! I could see why you'd want something so zen. Well, my day yesterday didn't go as planned at all. First DS decided he was going to do school down in the living room. He has a video class on Tuesday. So I couldn't be cleaning and making noise because he was presenting his latest project. urg. I did get all of the laundry sorted for next week. Then I fell down the hill going to feed the chickens. It is the quickest way. I thought, oh, the snow's off, I'll go that way. Nope, too muddy. I twisted my body around while I was falling, trying not to fall which didn't work, and ended up with a bit of a sore back and neck. So I was on the couch with the heating pad for the remainder of my day. Hopefully today I can get something done. I've decided that first thing is to finish cleaning DS's room so he can do school in there, especially video classes. OK, off to do something.

I hope you are feeling better today, but suspect you will be pretty sore for the next few days. Please excuse me if I giggled when I read the bolded statements. Yes, Lisa, falling down the hill IS the quickest way down... My tax info is ready for the accountant. I think dh's is, too. Hope so. Ready or not, I am off to the accountant tomorrow. Thought I might actually scrap today, but I seem to lack a firm idea on where to start. Need to focus on one challenge or one set of photos, or one SOMETHING... Maybe I will just continue to look for things I can use at the crop. if something jumps out at me I will seize on that to play with. This evening I am meeting our nephew's wife for a quick supper then another sign painting class: this one a stenciled "Welcome" on a long board. Not sure if I will keep this one or give it away.

LisaDV , what were you thinking? Falling downhill IS a quick way to the bottom, but the resulting pains aren't worth it. Seriously, I hope you are doing better today, but as grammadee said, you are probably pretty sore today. Get well soon. You have lots of laundry to do on the new washer and dryer. scrapincin told me she sees the Dr. today, so I think we will hear something later today. woodysbetty, wow, who knew all the things you have done in life. Teaching yoga sounds like a great way to de-stress after dealing with inmates! grammadee , thanks for the explanation of the Hockey game. I figured it was more of an exhibition game, but was hoping your son played well while you were watching. I'm sure he did. That's a great honor and a wonderful fund raiser. I am trying to catch up around the house today. We were told at school today that our program ends the end of April so that's just 2 more weeks. My last school went right to the very last week. I can use the time to do some deep cleaning around here. Have a nice day, everyone. It's Spring here but we are expecting snow for the weekend. Argh!

Good Evening! yes I saw the doctor today He was pretty happy with my breathing. Also my INR level was not to far over supposed to be between 2-3 and it was 3.1. So skipped today's dose and go back in a week for another one. I need to make an appointment with the pulmonologist now too. The worst thing is the tubing for the oxygen. It just wraps around you and you get tangled in it. There are portable ones that weigh only 3 pounds and do not have the long tubing. Need an prescription to get one. I am still not sleeping real well but I think that will gradually get better. I get the shakes and that is from the prednisone and aerosol treatments. I will tell you what I went thru has me somewhat scared. It s really out of my control other then doing what I can do to stay healthy. nylene so gad to hear you are doing well. when you get that deep cleaning done you can come and do mine! LOL LisaDV I really did not mean to keep you in suspense. I was waiting to hopefully bring you good news. I can just picture you rolling down the hill! I know it must be faster but You still have to get up at the bottom Well I am going to try to work on some cards and layouts tonight. I will be trying to hit the gallery and leave some love.

Scrapincin, we are happy to hear from you. I can imagine how scary your experience was. Truly no one has any control of our health even though we do everything right that we know to do. We usually don't think about that until something happens, though. Hope you sleep better tonight. Those meds are probably not helping with sleep.

scrapincin, thanks for the update. I'm very glad that your health is moving in the right direction. And that you might even be up for some crafting is a very good sign. Those steroids do mess with your sleep though. Thanks for all the laughs regarding the fall. It was pretty quick. I'm really not that sore, just a bit of stiffness in my neck and a twinge in my back when I move a certain way. Counting myself lucky. Logan fed the chickens today just so he could go down the hill without falling and call me a duffus. 'yeah, point taken, son'. grammadee, have fun at your sign painting class. nylene, It could be very nice to be out of school a bit early, but I know you miss the kids too. woodysbetty, love that layout. Those colors and those cards are awesome. Is that the project life app? msliz, No photos. No broken spirits either. All good. I'm sure you're looking forward to your dd coming home this weekend, even if it does put a damper on your crafting. I hope you are getting some time this week. justjac, I hope school is treating you well this week. kellyr21 and @elaynef, waving hi. I hope you both are having a good week.

scrapincin, I just got home from my meeting and considered calling you. But with the time difference I hope you are tucked in for the night. I was glad to come here and read that you are doing OK. I'm sorry you aren't sleeping. That can take your strength away and you need all your strength. Forgive me for chuckling, but I have a picture in my head of you all tied up in O2 tubing. Take it easy, sweet friend. This must have been so scary for you and Bob because we (Pokeys) were scared for you. msliz, thanks for asking about Steve. He has had a hard time trying to read anything the last 2 days. He has the injections in his eyes again in the morning and by Friday it is usually somewhat better. No further hemorrhages which really cut down on the vision, so I think it's just tired eyes ready for another injection session. It can't really improve beyond what it is now, but it is postponing blindness. Hi, @elaynef, it's nice to see your smiling face. woodysbetty, I love your pages. The stripes are really pretty and I love all the journaling/sentiment blocks. It's such a classy PL page. I wish I could get that to work for me.

nylene & LisaDV - I made the pages using the project life app. I am practicing to use the app for my trip to the Netherlands in 10 days. I am hoping to use it to get the photos and journaling organized and ready to scrap! The project life app is the only way I am able to pull off the pocket page look!! scrapincin you have had a time of it!! Must have been a really scary experience....glad you are on the mend!!

Great to hear you are feeling better and moving around more, scrapincin. Glad you are feeling well enough to contemplate some scrappy play. Hoping you don't overdo it. Or enact nylene's vision of being all tangled up in that tubing! woodysbetty those digi pages look great! And a trip to the Netherlands? How exciting! A PL app is the way to go for scrapping on the run, I think. justjac kept up with a LAYOUT A DAY using her cellphone while on vacation. I hope your dh's eyesight improves after his shots, nylene. That must be really frustrating for him. Glad you don't have lingering effects from your fall, LisaDV. I would have that superior young man "show me how it is done" on a daily basis! My sign turned out okay, but it needs a big burlap or netting bow. Since the colours I chose were white and blue, the natural burlap colour didn't seem to work, so I will be checking out Michaels' for a chunk of wide blue stuff today. Will post a pic when the last details are attached. Loving all the action on the board with the April challenges, but feeling I have not been holding up my end of stinkerbelle's team. Hope to fit a little scrapping in today if the LSS has room at a table for me for a couple of hours. I will be leaving in a bit for an appointment with our accountant. Then I will be printing some photos and doing a few errands. Since I also plan to meet justjac for supper, I will have the afternoon free, so I plan to drop in to the LSS and ask if they will "take me in" for awhile. Have a GO-bag packed with supplies that will work with the new photos. Okay, off to get ready for my day's adventures...

LOL, grammadee, I'm sure the LSS will be happy to "take you in" for the afternoon, especially if you have your purse with you. I hope you have a great time and a fun get together with justjac for supper. woodysbetty, a trip to the Netherlands sounds wonderful. What is taking you there? Do you have Dutch ancestry? I wish I were computer techy enough to do digi scrapping. I love the looks of your pages. That app sounds very helpful. scrapincin, I hope today is better than yesterday and that tomorrow is better that today. I'm off to take Steve for his eye treatments.

nylene it's actually a funny story...we took at Viking Ocean cruise 2 years ago and really liked it. My husband stayed in touch with the Viking rep that helped us plan that trip. We have been married for 38 years and one day out of the blue he comes home with a strange look on his face and says "Honey I need to tell you something". Of course, before the first sentence is out of his mouth, my mind is all over the place and not one of the places is pleasant!! He then said - I booked us a Viking river cruise to the Netherlands without checking with you because it was the last room left on the boat and I didn't want to miss it. Because we always talk about big purchases he was really worried I would be upset! Yikes- what a nut!! So thanks to my crazy spouse we are off the experience the Netherlands at the height of tulip season. I still smile when I think of his face and my thoughts... Later, of course, I did give him a little insight into how next time it would be so much better not to start the conversation with Honey I have something to tell you!! So no Dutch ancestry pulling us there - just a love of travel!!

Good Friday morning, Pokeys! Not much on the agenda here today. I hope to decorate the sign I did at the class Wednesday evening, and then get some photos of it and of the pages I finished yesterday at the LSS. Spent a couple of hours there, and managed to come out with four pages. I had pre cut some pieces on my Silhouette and had lots of photos, so there wasn't a lot of extra real estate to fill in. Did a bit of shopping. Had a lovely supper with justjac and her dh before driving home, so all in all a wonderful day. What an adventure you have ahead of you, woodysbetty ! How sweet of him to surprise you like that, though I agree he perhaps needs to work on his delivery. I hope your dh's treatments will help his eyesight, nylene . Is he able to drive at all now? Or did you have to drive him yesterday because of the treatments? Thanks for the love in the Gallery, scrapincin . Hope you are feeling a little better every day. Waving hello to LisaDV, kellyr21 , msliz , @elaynef , maribeth . Hoping spring is progressing more quickly where you are. Temps are hovering around the freezing point day & night, but the snow IS melting. Roads were pretty wet coming home last night.

woodysbetty, I love the story of how your DH let you know about the trip. He's lucky you didn't have a stroke! One day my DH said, "Do you consider us happily married?" I must have gasped as I said, "Yes, why?" He had been talking to some men at work who were saying that they weren't happily married, but didn't want to do anything about it. He just wondered if I felt that way. Duh! We had been married 49 years at that time. He apologized for scaring me. I hope you have a wonderful time and take lots of photos. One of DH's eyes is really red and sore. They are having a hard time finding a spot to inject that doesn't have scar tissue. He has had well over 100 injections in each eye. It was miserable last night but he's feeling better today. Thanks for your well wishes. I talked to scrapincin this morning and she sounded good. I'm sure she will drop in soon. grammadee, your visit with the LSS and justjac sounds fun. Glad you made it safely home. Waving hello to all the Pokeys.

Happy Friday! What a beautiful day today is. I wish you all were here. It is warm and sunny. We had some fierce winds yesterday but they stopped. Hope you all are well. Ok, as you all know I have been learning to paint floral designs. I have been watching this artist Angela Anderson on YouTube and following her step by step tutorial. She is so good and has a chill way of teaching. The first one is the first one I did with Angela. The second one is the last one I did with her. The third one is inspired by Donna Downey. I have done several now and thinking of making a video to showcase them all. White Floral Painting by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr

SO practice makes perfect. I love learning how to make there sort of abstract flowers and am staring a new one today. I hope these flowers cheer you up, especially Cindy.
scrapincin - So happy you are feeling better. I loved making that card for you and glad you got it and enjoying it. Oh, look what I saw outside of my in-laws house.... New Los Angeles Rams Stadium by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr
... the NEW LOS ANGELES RAMS & CHARGERS football stadium! I was giggling with Ron that we can sit outside in the patio and listen to the game we are so close. LOL! I have heard it is supposed to be fabulous so I am looking forward to seeing it.
LisaDV - Your story of how you and Don met and dated was sweet. It reminded me of my story. Ron and I have been married 12 yrs and we met in college too. We knew each other but just friends. After my first semester he transferred to another college and I never saw him again until 18 or so years later. LOL! Our parents were at a conference and didn't know each other. They just happened to start talking and the next thing I knew he called me and the rest is history. Here's to many more great years of marriage to you, me and all of us ladies!
nylene - Oh boy, I am so glad your trip was safe after the car trouble you had. Just so happy you were able to visit "our" family in No. Cali. Will they be coming to see ya this Summer?
woodysbetty - What a fun story! I know husbands should not start a sentence with "Honey I have to tell you something." LOL! But in your case that was a real good thing he had to say. My husband can surprise me with a trip anytime too. LOL!
grammadee- How is the traveler doing today? I am glad you get to visit your family often. Those grands are growing up and it is sweet you get to be apart of these lives creating nice memories.
Waving hi to you all and have a nice weekend.

Lovely paintings, kellyr21. I like the sense of depth you get with your paints. I have been playing with art supplies lately for the 100 Days Project, and yesterday I got playing with water colours. I watched a couple of videos, and then grabbed a brush and a paint box and started playing. The one on this page is my favorite from the day. After the paint dried, I sponged on some Tim Holz Oxide inks for the sky, and then added "snow" with Nuvo drops and glitter. Choose happiness 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I had planned to just tuck the painted piece into my 100 days art journal, but I realized that the colours matched those in the Crate Paper pp I picked up for one of the April scrapbooking challenges, so I ended up putting my painting on a page. Hoping everyone is having a wonderful weekend!
