My almost 10 year old dd needs some new things. She adores Hannah Anderson but I find the clothes are geared very young. The colours, graphics and styles make her look younger than she is. I did get her a cute swimsuit. I like the GAPand bought her some things in the fall from there to get her over HA, mature her a bit so to speak. She liked the clothes but felt like everyone else had the same clothes (which they probably did because not many places to shop around here). I feel we’ve been there done that with justice. The pants fit her well. And what if i want her to have nicer items for family dinners and what not. She doesn’t love the feel of the clothes at H&M.
I’m considering ordering a couple of things for her from lands end. Any experience with them? I’ve only ever ordered winter coats. Will their stuff look more age appropriate than HA?
I don’t live near a target. We don’t have maceys, kohls, etc..
Any other ideas?

I liked Lands End clothes for my girls at that age BUT I've never worried about clothes making them look younger - at 9 or 10, they are, imo, supposed to look young still.

If she likes HA, why not let her wear it? My daughter is 18 and looks 12. Not much to be done about looking younger.

Do you have The Childrens Place in Canada? (They may ship there) I shopped there some when my kids were younger. My DD started getting into clothes about this age so she really liked Justice as well. My 17yo DD still doesn't get the H&M vibe, lol.

I’ve ordered from Lands End quite a bit for my girls. I do like their clothes. They are pretty good quality and, I think, more age appropriate than a lot of other places. Especially since my 10 year old has grown a ton over the last 2 years and is looking like a teenager

My girls wore clothes from Old Navy, Justice, Lands End, Children's Place, Target, and a variety of department stores. They liked the tees from Aeropostale too. The clothes from Lands End were always well made. They have a lot of sales so it was easy to find good deals there. I live in an area where shopping is limited. There is a decent mall about 90 minutes away.

My DD is almost 8 and I buy most of her (new) clothes at Kohl’s and Target on clearance and up until they closed I found a lot of cute clothes for her at Herberger’s Outlet. When she was younger I was able to get her a lot of really nice name brand things next to new at consignment sales but that’s harder to do as she gets older and kids her age are much harder on their clothes.
Target and Kohl’s both sell almost everything online that they stock in the stores. If I had no local options I would try that. And I agree with Linda that at age 10 I wouldn’t necessarily want to encourage her to look any older. I’d be willing to bet in a few short years you’ll want to stuff that genie back in the bottle, LOL.

Many of the places listed above plus Zara. Look for the sales.

My 10 year old is pretty adult sized so she has outgrown a lot of the stores which makes shopping hard. Most Gap, H and M, old Navy and Zara don't carry her sized in Canada so they are out unless we go to the US.
She picks and chooses at Justice- the US site sometimes has better selection than we get so looking online can be helpful. She is no so glitzy unicorn but she likes some of their "older" clothes and dresses. They have the only pants that fit her well.
The Bay sometimes has nice things but the selection can get a bit picked over by the time I get there.
The Children's place extended their size here so we bought some nice tops and dresses there. Gap often has some nice dress shirts.
I find I just have to do a lot of scavenging at this age. There isn't just a store I can go shop at and find what I need. Most clothes that fit her are not age appropriate and it's quite hard to shop.

Mini-Boden? A lot like HA though.
Ten is an odd age. I would say that if she likes HA, I’d probably still buy some. My boys are getting sensitive about clothing this year (also 10). I’ve refused to go all Under Armour, Nike and sporty clothing. Now my one twin won’t wear plaid to school. I feel a little better buying some REI-type brands (Patagonia, North Face, Marmot) and I still buy some occasional HA and Boden, but it has to be the more subtle pieces.

I was going to suggest Boden’s teen line, Johnny B, but it looks like they have gotten rid of it. Have you tried Abercrombie kids? My girls liked them for jeans, polos, sweaters, etc that were slightly more mature, trendy cuts and patterns. You can get basics there that are not inappropriate for that age group.

I feel like HA needs better colouring and graphics. They used to be better looking and now look appropriate for preschool kids. My dd is disappointed because she wants their clothes but doesn’t want to need sunglasses to look at them. No modern colours or styles or graphics.

It seems like just last year I couldn’t buy anything for my 11 yr old and could find everything for my then 8 yr old. Now I feel the tables have turned. At almost 10 the youngest is now hard to shop for and the almost 13 yr old can fit an XXS or XS in many adult depts so many more options.

I was sad the year I realized that it was the last summer I could buy DS #1 clothes from Gymboree and such. And before that I bemoaned when they outgrew Carters. My kids both like Old Navy, even now that the older one is in adult sizes, he still likes it there.

I get things from Lands End for my kids and have always been happy with them. The boot cut jeans for girls are really cute. They usually have a selection of knit dresses and tunics to wear with leggings if she likes the comfort factor of HA.

My DD LOVES Justice. I did get her jeggings from there because they were the only ones that would fit well. I like Lands End for some things. Otherwise my DD likes the shirts from Children's Place. She is a super sparkly/emoji/unicorn lover though. I wish she liked Hanna Andersson! She lived in those twirly dresses as a toddler.
