Tell me your specific vacuum + wet cleaner combo to make cleaning a breeze!!
I feel like my floors are always dirty and a pain in the butt. I grew up in a shoes off household so we didn’t have this problem. Sadly, my husband did not so that is not an option.

I use my shark vacuum and then wash the floor with a rag soaked in a dilute mixture of Thieves household cleaner (from young living). I get a big bucket, fill with hot water, two or three capfuls of Thieves, and go to town. I have 5 pets and the floor gets filty and it drives me insane. A mop just doesn't do a good enough job, and the Thieves smells lovely.

Vacuum, then use the Bona floor system to clean. If I don't need to use liquid cleaner, I just use fluffy sweeper cloth to clean up dust and dog hair.

I typically vacuum with the wand around baseboards and corners and any obvious particles first. Then I use a vinegar - water mixture to spray on the floors. I use Dutch Broom and old rags/t shirts to wipe up the liquid and done.
A floor refinished told me that vinegar and water mixture is the best for hardwood. I used to buy Bona but he said it was just unnecessary expense.

Every now and then I feel like I need a deeper clean especially in the kitchen so I'll use vinegar and a scrubbier pad / sponge thingie. SaveSave

I use my Dyson vacuum and then my Bissell steam cleaner (with distilled water & Shaklee Basic H cleaner). I use my Swifter dry sweeper between washings to pick up dog hair and dust.

We steamed them with a steam mop and then used vinegar and water.

The best I have found is vacuum, the type of vacuum doesn’t make a huge difference. Wash with warm hot water with a bit of Dawn added, on hands and knees. This leaves a sparkling clean floor with no streaks. For fast and easier the Bona works alright. I felt it left a slightly foggy film that I didn’t care for.

Put your husband in charge of cleaning the wood floors. Seriously, shoes make keeping them clean 100x harder. Either take your damn shoes off or clean them yourself.

I used the Bona products on our natural wood floors with great results. My sister's husband owned a chain of carpet stores and recommended them for our rental property after some horrible tenants left. I was willing to try anything! They left tape and tape goo all over the floors where they taped down wires, scuffs, dog marks and a nail polish spill in one bedroom.
Lots of work on our part but the wood floors looked AWESOME when we were done!!

If you live in a area with ants, don't use anything with a citrus scent, especially orange-glo.
You floor will be moving with in an hour.

Guess I am the odd ball here. We lived in a house with really old wood floors for thirty years. The only thing I ever did to them was sweep and use mop and glo on them. They thrived on that. When we sold the house, the floors were a selling point. They looked really good for their age. The house was about eighty years old and the floors were original to it.
