he really didnt do much as as mayor of Newark except grandstand as often as possible to make a name for himself. But I’ll admit he does better as a senator. And he’s really pretty good at questioning people in these hearings. But he is not ready for a White House bid in 2020. He won’t win if he does. 100% agree! He is young, he has time!

Well done, but $10 would have been ok with vehicles with 2 people or more! Zinke backs off plan for big national park fee increasesBY TIMOTHY CAMA - 04/12/18 03:37 PM EDT Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke formally backed off from a plan for big increases to entrance fees for some national parks. The National Park Service said Thursday it will increase most entrance fees at parks that currently charge them by $5, much less than the increase of as much as $45 that Zinke proposed in October. That would have raised a vehicle pass for the most-visited parks during their peak periods to $70. “I want to thank the American people who made their voices heard through the public comment process on the original fee proposal. Your input has helped us develop a balanced plan that focuses on modest increases at the 117 fee-charging parks as opposed to larger increases proposed for 17 highly visited national parks,” Zinke said in a statement. For normal vehicle, motorcycle or per-person passes, the highest entrance fee will now be $35 at the most-visited parks, up from $30. The increases apply only to parks that currently charge fees; no parks that don’t charge fees will start charging them under this plan. The new funds from the fee hikes will stay inside the park system, with at least 80 percent staying with the park that collects them. The Hill..
“Mulvaney in Senate hearing: I'm required to be here but I don't have to answer your questions hill.cm/9TnfjlT”
Why am I not surprised.
One of the many reasons I want the Democrats to take control of Congress is so the job of “oversight” can be done again. The Republicans oversighted the hell out of the Obama Administration but yet are shrugging their collective shoulders when it comes to the trump administration.

Kyle Griffin...
“MENENDEZ: Did [Trump] ask you to do anything as it relates to that [Russia] investigation?
POMPEO: Senator, I don't recall. (via CBS)”
Amazing how many forgetful people there are in the trump administration. Personally that is something I would remember since as one pea put it “that’s all they talk about is Russia, Russia, Russia.”
If they are that forgetful maybe that forgetfulness makes them unfit to hold a government job, especially a cabinet position. After all trump promised only the best people would be working with him.

Ummm....is this true!?!? Trump had a child with his HOUSEKEEPER.?? I've heard similar rumors for years!!! Besides raping young girls *allegedly*, there were rumors of affairs and babies......... Might be why that section was inserted in the generic NDS he'd hand out! The surprising part is that Trump is supposedly more upset by this news vs. the Russia info. He sounds very worried about Melania!!! Is she REALLY that stupid? ? I heard them say the housekeeper was Mexican, too- how's that for ya? hypocritical slob! Also heard some stuff about Comey's book, where Trump asked him MULTIPLE times to use the FBI to investigate / prove false the pee-pee tape, because Melania was upset by the allegations. Because, after all, 'do I look like I need to hire a prostitute?' Apparently he told Comey a number of time that it wasn't true- which, knowing the way Trump answers questions, means that it IS true, of course... but to ask the head of the FBI to use taxpayer money to investigate personal allegations like that?!? how irresponsible! (par for the course, though)

The Hill...
“Watergate reporter: "We are in a constitutional crisis" because of Trump hill.cm/jWwEhez”
If true, it’s because trump either does not believe in or understand the constitution. Or both. To him no one is allowed to tell him no now that he is president, especially a piece of paper. trump is petulant child that wants his way and the constitution be damned.

CBS Reporter Jacqueline Alemany...
“A source tells me that Trump called yesterday and asked source to go on TV to call for Trump to fire Mueller.”
Interesting. Well you know he is always saying “people are saying” when it isn’t really that evident. So why not plant suggestions of what he wants to do because then he can justify his actions by saying “people are saying”.

House Ethics calls on Farenthold to pay back $84K taxpayer-funded harassment settlementBY JULIEGRACE BRUFKE - 04/12/18 06:59 PM EDTThe House Ethics Committee on Thursday called on former Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-Texas) to follow through on his pledge to reimburse the $84,000 in taxpayer dollars used to settle a sexual harassment claim. Farenthold resigned Friday, just ahead of the committee's April 11 scheduled vote on the allegations against him. The panel dropped its investigation since it "no longer has jurisdiction" over the former congressman, according to a statement released by Ethics Chairwoman Susan Brooks (R-Ind.) and ranking member Ted Deutch (D-Fla.). "We note Representative Farenthold publicly promised to reimburse the U.S. Treasury for $84,000 in funds paid to settle the lawsuit brought against him for claims of sexual harassment, gender discrimination, and retaliation," more at link: thehill.com/homenews/house/382946-house-ethics-calls-on-farenthold-to-pay-back-84k-taxpayer-funded-harassmentWaiting to see how quickly he responds!! That's taxpayer dollars!!

Since it was discussed upthread a page or two... Just thought I would mention that you can get Comey's book on the audible free trial if you haven't used it before. I was going to preorder on Amazon but will probably take advantage of that deal.

There's a very disturbing pattern of silencing Donald Trump's accusers emergingBy Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large Updated 8:40 PM ET, Thu April 12, 2018 CNN Special Report "Hush Money: Trouble for Trump?" hosted by Sara Sidner airs Saturday at 8 p.m. ET. (CNN)On Thursday we learned that the National Enquirer's parent company American Media Inc. reportedly paid a doorman at Donald Trump's old building to ensure he not speak about the rumor that the then-real estate mogul had fathered a child out of wedlock. The CEO of that parent company is a close personal friend of President Trump. "This establishes a pattern now," said Ronan Farrow, the reporter who broke the news of the latest payoff -- it's not clear when in 2015 it occurred or whether Trump was officially a candidate -- in the pages of the New Yorker. He's right. ** But we now have a pattern of behavior here on the part of two people who are very close to the President. When allegations/rumors/whispers emerge regarding Trump's personal life, those two men used the tools at their disposal -- money, hush agreements, catch/kill -- to ensure those stories never see the light of day. What that means is that it is no longer practicable for this White House to dismiss, say, Cohen's payment as a one-off of which they knew nothing. This is a three-off. If it's a coincidence, it's one hell of a coincidence. And -- spoiler alert -- it's no coincidence. ** This is not private citizen Donald Trump we are talking about. This is President of the United States Donald Trump. That's a big difference. www.cnn.com/2018/04/12/politics/donald-trump-stormy-daniels-michael-cohen/index.htmlInteresting ... thinking is good!

“Prediction: By this time tomorrow evening, the Comey book won’t be the top story. It may not even be in the top three stories.”
He May be right.

Just one more terrorist attack, and GOP candidate in SD, Neal Tapios, has got a LOCK on the primary! "KELO.com News has obtained a recording of Republican Congressional candidate Neal Tapio where he suggests that an Islamic terrorist attack on the United States prior to the June South Dakota primary could assist his candidacy. In the recording, he says, “And then all that has to happen is that there will be one more terrorist attack between now and then and I will be the, just by the Trump effect, I will be the candidate. That’s the way I look at it.”" kelo.com/news/articles/2018/apr/07/listen-neal-tapio-talks-about-impact-terrorist-attack-would-have-on-campaign/

Stealing the SCOTUS seat was the most blatant abuse of the constitution I have seen in a long time. Absolutely disgusted with the GOP every day that they allow this country's image to sink into the swamp and mire.

Only one country on yougov.com poll where Trump ranks ahead of Obama in admiration. Any guesses? Bueller? Bueller? Wonder who Russia has 1-10? I'd be interested to see. You can see each country's results towards the bottom, as well as the methodology: yougov.co.uk/news/2018/04/11/worlds-most-admired-2018/ETA but bear in mind that the individual country lists include local names as well - the graph quoted above only counts the relative position of the 20 people polled about in every country. They are: MEN Amitabh Bachchan Andy Lau Barack Obama Bill Gates Cristiano Ronaldo Dalai Lama David Beckham Donald Trump Elon Musk Imran Khan Jack Ma Jackie Chan Lionel Messi Michael Jordan Narendra Modi Pope Francis Recep Tayyip Erdogan Vladimir Putin Warren Buffett Xi Jinping WOMEN Aishwarya Rai Angela Merkel Angelina Jolie Deepika Padukone Elizabeth Warren Emma Watson Fan Bingbing Gal Gadot Hillary Clinton Liu Yifei Madonna Malala Yousafzai Michelle Obama Oprah Winfrey Priyanka Chopra Queen Elizabeth II Taylor Swift Theresa May Yang Mi Zhao Wei
