A shopper at a Washington, D.C. Trader Joe’s got an unpleasant surprise when she got home to unload her bag of groceries on Tuesday. Inside a bag of cut, cleaned and ready to cook kale, Grace Goldstein found a “very dead” lizard. people.com/food/trader-joes-lizard-kale/

(puke)I've never been a fan of kale. I had thought about giving it another try, but ummmmm....It might be a while, lol.

I'm always very skeptical of these kinds of claims. Especially when the bag is opened and the offending foreign body is so prominently displayed. And it strikes me as a bit unlikely that a whole lizard would end up in a bag of mechanically chopped greens.

I thought the same thing, but am wondering whether the photo shown is the actual item or one just faked for the article? That lizard is huge for someone not to notice.

They are certainly presenting it in the tweet, etc as the actual bag and lizard.

I would have had a stroke. I would have run out and bought it a 40 gallon setup with an automatic mister, basking lights, plants, and calcium-dusted mealworms. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) plus three friends. (Not even kidding a little bit)

A friend of mine did indeed find a dead mouse in a bag of mixed lettuce. It was small and looked very dried up as it had obviously been through the washing and drying process. She said she usually only grabbed a handful of lettuce ( only 2 eating) but on this day needed more and emptied the whole bag! I am guilty of only taking a handful out for my lunch- NOW I empty the whole bag, just in case!!
