I found some really cute ballet flats yesterday but they come up higher on my foot than my other flats, leaving me with toe cleavage (is that a real term? I don’t know how else to describe it). Is that acceptable? I’ve never had that problem before but also have never noticed it on anyone else. I’m not sure if that is because nobody else would dare wear their shoes like that, or because I only notice it on myself. What do the peas think?

I personally don't wear shoes that give me toe cleavage. And yes, it's a real term.

SaveSaveYes, but in the shoes I am talking about it is just one toe that shows, if that makes sense.

I don't understand why people care about that. If your shoes are cute, fit, and you like them, go for it. If someone is staring at your toes and judging "toe cleavage" that's their issue, not yours.

Say no to toe cleavage.

Yet we wear naked toes in flip flops. Or as we used to call them "thongs".

Is this seriously an issue?? Not that your asking... but people really think this is something? I 'get' some things, but this wouldn't even cross my mind...

I can't do it. And not because I am a prude about cleavage or showing my feet. I agree with the previous post about it looking like the shoes don't fit... and I would see it every time I looked down. It is my own personal hang up I guess 🤷🏻♀️

I’m more worried that it will drive me nuts than what other people think. Although I think I would be more likely to try to ignore it and get past it if I knew that other people didn’t care. Lol

I refuse to believe this is a thing I should be worried about. They are toes. Why is it ok to wear flip flops with the whole toe exposed but not okay to wear other shoes where the cracks between my toes are showing? Utter insanity.
If you like the shoes wear them. If you don’t like them don’t wear them. Nobody is looking at your toe cracks. Toe cleavage. Toes. Whatever the hell you want to call it.

I'm confused as to why I should even devote any of my limited time here on earth worried about this. For the record, I don't look at anyone else's feet enough to notice this on them either.

I wouldn't care at all. Whether they were my own shoes or anyone else's shoes.

My mom gets all weird about toe cleavage. I don’t care. I don’t notice it at all.

I like toes showing barefoot, in flip flops or sandals if they have a nice pedi. Toe cleavage is a whole other thing. It looks like the shoes don't fit.

i wouldn't look at someone else with distaste, wrinkle my nose and think "ew, toe cleavage".
however, i wouldn't buy shoes that fit me that way cuz i don't like the way it looks.

I hate the way that looks *on me*. I won’t buy shoes that do that.
But - I’ll be honest and can’t say I ever notice it on someone else.

I'm like the last few people above me. I don't like the way it looks on me even though people have told me that it doesn't matter and I've never noticed it on other people.

Lol I cringe at the sight of bare feet. I don't even like seeing my own feet. Therefore, I will go out of my way to avoid the sight of bare feet in pubic. Your toe cleavage would be safe from me.

I'm on the bench of if it fits and you like it... buy it n wear it...
If ur gonna get hung up on ur 1 toe being seen and other people's opinions matter to you... then don't waste the money...
I don't care enough to notice other people's shoes... and I wear flip flop m sandles way more than flats... so all my toes show...

I don't like toe cleavage on me but I tolerate it if it's just a little. I've never once noticed if anyone else had toe cleavage.

I've never noticed toe cleavage on any one. I don't like it on me because that signals a shoe I'll have trouble keeping on my foot. I like my shoes to come up higher on my instep so I don't literally walk out of them.

It’s not that I don’t want to see my toes. I think it is like others said...it makes the shoes look too small. When I tried them on I thought they fit, them I looked in the mirror and noticed the toe. I bought them since it was tjmaxx and if I waited they would be gone. I need to try them on again and see how much I like them. Might need to return.

That would never even occur to me! The only thing I would notice about people's feet is if they had on pretty nail polish. If I tried on the shoes, I may think they looked to small on me, but I wouldn't think anything about someone else wearing them. Enjoy the shoes!
