My nephew, 26 and employed with lucrative job, is getting married in July.
The couple have very few things on their registry and most have been purchased.
Nephew and fiance (we are close with both) are country music fans, and enjoy a cocktail from time to time. They like Toby Keith.
I thought of putting together a basket containing nice bar glasses, napkins, accessories and a quality bottle of vodka with Red Solo cups as a gag with a cute sign/card reading "Proceed to Party" along with a gc for Amazon.
Tacky? Cute?
We will write a check at the wedding.

It's a cute gift, but when you said that they only enjoy a cocktail from "time to time", it doesn't sound like they'd get much use out of the vodka and bar glasses. Maybe switch it to champagne and flutes?

"time to time" is weekends and summers. I guess I didn't want to give the impression they are binge drinkers. They both enjoy cocktails on the weekends. She doesn't drink beer, he's Pabst (gag)

I love this idea! You might want to check out Etsy for personalized items they have some great things. (Glasses, bar decanters, shot glasses, flasks etc.)

Never heard of writing a check at the wedding. If I gift money, it is already put into the card and left on the gift table at the reception. |
