Can anyone recommend a good vellum?
I have only ever used the Paper Source letter-sized sheets which I got for inkjet photo printing. I suspect they were overpriced. I just saw Jennifer McGuire recommended a nice vellum with a pearlescent sheen to it that I might have to try, but what about basic everyday vellum?

What exactly do you want to use it for? Bazzill has a great 40lb vellum. Not sure if you can run it through the printer - I have printable vellum for that.

If you’re looking for a very sturdy vellum I recommend Papertrey Ink vellum which is 110lb I think. Otherwise I use Graffix vellum. I bought a really nice pad from Amazon which has a variety of colours in it.

I don't really need the printable kind any more (although, I guess I could print sentiments on vellum... hmmm...). I'll take a look at the Bazzill, thanks. I usually just add some to cards as a circle or square die cut shape or wrap it around a panel and emboss a sentiment. I guess I can get some different weights and colors. I hadn't really thought about vellum coming in different weights or colors! I'm glad I asked you guys

I purchased a ream of it from Kelly Paper. They had different thicknesses and I choose a fairly thick one for embossing and a thin one as an overlay material.

I bought the Recollections (Michaels) brand and I'm happy with it. The weight is 29 lbs. In the package it looks a bit yellow-y, but against any color of card stock, even white, it looks fine.
I wanted to add a vellum piece with an embossed sentiment to my cards.

Stampin' Up! has a vellum cardstock that I use. It's nice and heavy. I love putting it through an embossing folder, the effect is amazing!! And I recently found an adhesive for it that is the bomb and doesn't show at all!!

What is the name off the adhesive?
I believe there is a more heat resistant vellum also that will take a little more heat during embossing but don’t remember the brand.

Link works. Thanks. It’s on my next Amazon order. I’m always doing workarounds and coverups to get vellum attached.

I think I saw it recently recommended by Lydia Fiedler or Jennifer McGuire?? I thought I'd try it, couldn't hurt. And I love it!! 😊

Glue Dots also makes a really good vellum adhesive. I just used it this weekend and you cannot see it at all under the vellum. I also use the SU vellum and really like how sturdy it is. I'm interested in the Graffix vellum pad from Amazon, though - colours sounds interesting.

I just had to get 60 sheets of vellum unexpectedly for a big project I'm working on - thanks for the recommendations. I went into Joann's and found out they're not selling their 50 sheet packs any more, which sucks. The girl didn't know why they'd do that. But she did find the very last pack for me on the clearance table for less than $5. So that worked out well. I haven't opened it yet but I'm hoping it's a nice weight.

Can anyone explain why Joann's (Darice) 65lb vellum is noticeably lighter weight than Michael's (Recollections brand) 29lb vellum?!
