Poor white women are allowed to mother their children and no one demonizes them or attempts to take away their children. This only happens to black women hence why they coined the term "Jane Crow". Even in equally abusive situations white children are allowed to stay in a familial placing avoiding the foster system all together. How many white grandmothers have raised opiod addicted daughters and then get custody of the grandchildren? Why aren't black children allowed to stay with their family members? The bar of good parenting for white parents is set pretty low. The bias between what it means to be a good black mother vs a good white mother is rampant. White women create school shooters and get sympathy and gofundmes. Meanwhile the black on black violence in Chicago is almost always blamed on absent fathers and welfare queens. No one blames school shootings on white parents even when the guns came from their gun collections Well, I, for one, do blame the parents of white school shooters and the parents of any child who allowed their child access to a firearm. I’ve said repeatedly here that those adults should be prosecuted and punished as accessories when someone is hurt or killed due to their negligence. Sadly, for the rest, I agree with you. Wealthy, white, abusive parents get to keep their kids. Wealthy, white drug addicts get to keep their kids. The same is not necessarily true for black and brown families. I don’t have solutions for this. How do you think we can best fix it? Waffle House shooter had his guns returned to him by his father. Dad isn't in custody and its business as usual at his IL construction company as he already fired one of his construction workers who spoke to the media about past "breaks" he witnessed the son have. Most of those breaks included brandishing a weapon of some kind. I answered your "How do you think we can best fix it" question Merge

Its National Foster Care Week. Devonte Hart still hasn't been recovered. They Keep Calling Them A Family "In a 2010 case, one of the parents was found to have physically harmed Abigail, causing bruising all over her body. The dispute had been over a penny: The parents discovered one in Abigail’s pocket and accused her of lying about how she got it. A spanking ensued, which Sarah Hart said “got out of control,” according to the documents. The couple agreed to in-home therapy, counseling and other “skill building activities” as a remedy, the documents said." It would have been nice if "skill-building" exercises would have been offered to the aunt as punishment for allowing the children to remain in contact with their addicted mother. The New York Times previously reported that Sarah Hart was convicted of misdemeanor domestic assault in Minnesota around the same time. A criminal complaint says that Ms. Hart admitted to spanking one of her children, identified as A.H. In a 2011 episode, Hannah told a school nurse that she had not eaten. Jennifer Hart then became angry and shoved a banana and nuts into the child’s mouth. When confronted about this, Sarah Hart argued that Hannah was “playing the food card” and should just be given water. Eventually, a child welfare worker reported that the children’s school stopped calling the Harts because officials feared that the children would be punished. The Harts eventually pulled the children out of school, began to home-school them and later moved. The problem, one Minnesota welfare worker noted, according to documents, was that Jennifer and Sarah Hart “look normal.”

All of the neighbors and witnesses coming out of the woodwork who knew about the abuse and did nothing. However, even if they had reported it, the authorities and school did nothing to help those children because the mothers ‘look normal’ ie white. And we all know this is not an isolated case. Abuse similar to this continues to happen all around the country and globally to children who have no voice and no one to advocate for them.

I don't know why these women even wanted to parent and why their friends/family couldn't see how abused those children were.

It’s beyond comprehension to me why people would choose jump through all the hoops to be registered as foster/adoptive parents only to abuse the children placed in their care. Surely it can’t be the just the money.

Surely it can’t be the just the money. It baffles me too. To starve another human being seems so barbaric. Sadly this isn't the first public case of foster/adoptive "parents" killing their children. I can think of several recent cases where children were starved to death.
