While tucking (or not tucking) is certainly a matter of personal preference, I say there are some people that are seriously in need of a good tuck.

I hate to tuck. It doesn’t matter my weight. I spend all day tucking back in, can’t raise my arms, etc. I prefer fitted and untucked. I have a large chest and broad shoulders. Nothing flowy or I look huge. Im not skinny, but I do have a relatively flat stomach so my tops need to be fitted to look good.

I used to when I was thin and it looked good. Now I prefer not to tuck and I’m very fussy about the exact flow of the top-not too loose, not too tight. I know the half tuck is a trend but honestly I don’t get it. I'm broad shouldered, larger chested, and small waisted. The half tuck is a nice option if I don't want to look like a MAC truck in anything that isn't completely fitted.

I'm afraid to answer until I understand what tuck means to our UK peas lainey I'm looking at you. Unless lainey knows differently I think it’s just the rhyming that’s leading things astray

Gotcha @gar. I'm not a tucker. Short, short-waisted, broad shouldered, busty la rue, all add up to no tuck.

I don’t tuck and I usually don’t buy flowy tops. I like more fitted tops because they definitely define my shape. I’ve recently lost quite a bit of weight and every time I wear a more fitted top, I get lots of comments from people at school. I can tell I look better in them than the more loose clothing I sometimes still wear.

I don't tuck often...I feel it just emphasizes areas I would rather not emphasize, but I'm also not skinny. I did find this YouTube video helpful and follow some of the tips when I do decide to tuck. How to Tuck & Tie Your ShirtsThank you! Very helpful.

I never tuck but my tops are not long. I mostly wear a jacket to work with my blouses.

I usually tuck. Most tops lately aren't long enough to tuck nicely. Really depends on top.

I always think tucking gives a little waist. A loose tuck. With the back out.

Boobs prevent neat tucking. I haven't really tucked since I wore suits to work. Also, I am too fat now to tuck. Yoga pants are my friend and they don't like to have things tucked in.

I seriously I misread your title. Well my mind went directly to what was being “tucked” and it wasn’t shirts!

I do both. For work, with my trousers, skinny trousers, and skirts, I tuck. With jeans, I don't tuck. I'm big busted with broad shoulders, small waist, bit of a tummy, big hips and butt. For me, if I don't tuck my work clothes, I look like a box because finding tailored button up blouses that button, or shells that don't pull at the bust, means they don't at all show that I have a waist if I leave them untucked. I don't tend to wear flowy blouses because the girls make them balloon out so I look much bigger than I am (and I'm not thin, so I don't need the help, thankyouverymuch). If I do wear a flowier top, I like ones cut on the bias so they show my shape. I'm at my normal right now, a bit chunky, not thin, not at my heaviest; but at both of those, for me, it's about the silhouette and how I feel. So, if I'm bloated and not digging my belly, I'll still tuck because that's preferable to the box. For me.

I don't think I have tucked a shirt in for at least 20 years. I might try the half-tucked look if a shirt that I had would look good that way, but I am not really sure how to wear that look. Seems like it would look best on people with a flat stomach, which I do not have. I dress fairly casual so none of my shirts are meant to be tucked.

I don't tuck unless I'm wearing a skirt and a blouse- which is almost never. I always buy fitted shirts- never anything flowy or baggy- and I make sure they are short. I'm short-waisted and I have to be careful of looking dumpy- even though I'm not overweight. I do longer ones only if I'm wearing leggings.

But, a random thing: was anyone else really annoyed by the way she pronounced the word 'button' without actually enunciating the 'T' sound, or was it just me?!?

I've noticed that before, often with written. I don't know if it is an accent or something else.

For me it depends on the top in question.

I can't remember the last time I wore a shirt. With bigger boobs I find that they gape at the chest or if I buy bigger to stop that, they're too voluminous and I think I'd be irritated by the bulk of fabric down the front of my jeans.

I seriously I misread your title. Well my mind went directly to what was being “tucked” and it wasn’t shirts! I clearly wasn't thinking when I originally posted. I only had shirts on my mind, honest. cmpeter, thank you for that video. I haven't watched it yet, but will this evening. However, I'm a bit skeptical of how much it will apply to me because I'm much chunkier than she is. We'll see. Also, back 15-20 years ago when I did tuck in most of the time, tops seemed longer and pants were just starting to go low-rise. Low-rise pants definitely are a game changer on tops staying put when tucked. What prompted this question is that I had received an on-line clothing order. Some of the tops were too flow-y and need to be returned. I did keep 2, but they need to be tucked in or worn with a jacket/cardigan to reign them in. I don't do well with layers because I get too warm, so I won't be able to wear them until next winter. Even with the current cold spell, I get too warm with layers.
