Yea, I'm surprised at the only 1 hour finale also. It seems like there is no more to tell though. I'm sure I will be disappointed, as I never liked her and fitz, and jake's a goner...and liked him, til they made him more and more dark. Seems like it's a good time to end.

I figure Olivia and Fitz will end up in Vermont. Melly will still be President. Jake will die and Cyrus will be in jail. I suppose OPA will rock on. I have no idea-lol...

David was my favorite character on the show, along with Huck. Sad to see his ending.

Cyrus got away with everything. Why would Rowan confess, walk away and Jake go to jail? It was all too rushed. It was like scenes had been left out connecting the dots.
Are we to assume that Olivia becomes President some day and gets that very sexy portrait in the gallery?

I thought it was terrible. I hated that they killed David but I liked that they gave him a good speech in the garage with Jake.

The finale had the feeling of being thrown together, like she plucked names out of a hat to see who lived and who died. There was no continuity with Eli's part going from getting out of town, to confessing, to somehow escaping prosecution. It was rushed and sloppy. I had also read that many of the previous cast members would reappear. Tom had one line I think. Hollis had a brief scene and that was about it. I'd have liked to see Stephen, Cyrus ex-husband, and that Senator that Olivia used to date. There were plenty of people who were once important that could have factored in if they had taken more time with this in either a longer episode or more build up to it like they did with Olivia's mother. She had a fair amount of an entire episode to be written out. It isn't like they didn't know this was coming. Shonda Rimes claimed that the real life election changed everything but in what way? They had already filmed last season before the election so their course was set. That was just an excuse for her to write this off and move onto other projects. |

I think Mely was a phenomenal President. I didn't see ONE homeless person on the streets of Washington DC in the scenes when Olivia was leaving.

The entire cast was on Jimmy K. after the finale and Kerry W. said that it was meant to leave the viewers guessing and it actually said that in the script. Shonda said she knows exactly what it was suppose to mean but isn't telling because she wants to leave it to the viewers and may have specials or a movie later and wants it to be her secret for now. I missed half the last season because I was too annoyed with all the characters. I watched every single episode until this season. I remember when Scandal used to be the show to watch because it was so fun but it just got too stupid. I tried watching the last episode but nah maybe later.

dd and I just watched. She's been a big fan from the beginning, I watched mainly because she watched. I said last week I didn't know how they could end it in 1 hour. Apparently when you just throw an episode together it does end in an hour.
