I apologize in advance if I ramble a bit! I like to give a gift/favor/goodie bag at my crops. I host a crop monthly, so I need lots of ideas! I don't want to be giving the same thing all the time. Some of the things I have given are pretty notebooks with matching pens, fancy granola bars, fancy chocolate covered pretzels, trail mix. Starting with my next crop I am setting up a snack bar, so I probably won't be doing food much as favors from here on out. I don't really want to do too many scrappy items, but might sometimes...maybe some project life style cards or some simple embellishments such as enamel dots or something. I founds some really cute dish towels at Walmart that I thought would be fun. Do you think dish towels are too random? I mean everyone uses them, but are they a weird favor for a crop? I actually have a thing for cute dish towels, if I want to get myself a little treat that is something I would get! So maybe that is why it caught my eye as a cute gift. Other ideas and thoughts? I feel like there is a lot of competition for crops in my area, even though scrapbooking does not seem to be super popular! So I'm trying to set myself apart as kind of a high end crop, but at affordable prices. Thanks for any and all feedback! Julie

Are people paying a crop fee? I have hosted a crop for a charity and I asked the people if they would prefer to pay one fee and have no goodie bag, or pay a couple of dollars more for a goodie bag. Overwhelmingly, they said no goodie bag.

Do you have a Tuesday Morning in town? If so, you can often find 25 packs of paper that match with 3-4 other packs. You could easily give people 3-4 sheets of matching paper (with maybe a title cut out). For me, I wouldn't use a dish towel unless it was a specific color. If I am going to a crop, I would want something to use at a crop. I would also like a bit of chocolate.
ETA: Instead of a goodie bag, could you give everyone one to three tickets for a drawing and maybe draw 10 tickets. If you purchase ten items that people could pick from, they would more likely get what they wanted and you wouldn't be spending as much money.

If it is a monthly crop, I wouldn't expect a goodie bag every time especially since people are so picky with what they like or what they expect I like 950nancy 's idea of a raffle for something a bit "bigger" like a travel mug or a tote bag with your crop logo or a picture frame and you raffle off one every month maybe people can get extra raffle tickets for bringing a new person? Maybe once a quarter have a thank you gift for everyone like the notebooks (good for making lists around the holidays) or a little plant in the spring or a little pumpkin for the fall Have you surveyed your attendees to see which items they like and which they don't use?

One of the raffle ideas that everyone likes is if they register a friend with their registration, their name goes into a hat and one person is drawn to receive a free crop. You could do a free crop for the next crop or give them their money back for the current crop.

I love lip balm and would love to receive a goodie bag with a fancy lip balm or two.

I am trying to brand my crops as premium, so I do want to include a favor/goodie bag just for that extra pampering touch. Julie

Baby wipes for crafting or for cleaning hands. Precut titles or mats or seasonal images. Then make it a challenge to use them at the crop. A sample size of something you might be including a class on: say one bottle of alcohol ink and a ceramic tile? Or a small tub of TH glaze, or a stencil and a bit of paste? A couple of pieces of specialty paper?

You could include pencils and post-it pads that have been engraved with your crop logo. These are small basics that could be in your goodie bags each crop, that helps brand your crop and they are useful while scrapbooking.
Once i attended a crop that included a sampling of printed papers cut into 4x4 squares, a collection of different sized blank tags & plain journaling cards. They were each packaged in little glassine bags & it was the most useful & cute goodie bag.

That way when your customers use their goodie bag items - pen, post-it pad, whatever - they are advertising for you to new potential customers.

At crops here its always craft items. And most have some sort of challenge to use the stuff in the goodiebag to make something. Everyone votes for the best use of the stuff and that person gets a nicer prize.
Personally I'm not a fan of goodiebags. It rare to get stuff that I think wow that's great. But I would prefer scrapbook stuff over towels or mugs.

So many good ideas, thanks everyone! I love the suggestions of babywipes and branded items.
I actually got so busy, that I didn't even have time to put goodie bags together for the crop. However I did set up a snack bar which was a huge hit! I had a great weekend, my most successful to date.
Next month I am having a tropical theme. If anyone has any ideas (food, favors, decorations, etc.) for a tropical theme feel free to throw them out! I have been perusing Pinterest already.
