Good luck with your surgery. Hope it turns out even better than predicted. It's wonderful that you're finally nearly pain free after all the years you've suffered.

I was thinking about your story this morning while I was getting a retinal tear zapped (yuck). All I could think was everything you've been through for so many years, and here they zapped my eye for 10 minutes and I should be fine with no lingering pain. I can't even imagine how you've felt for so long.
Good luck with the new surgery -- I hope it ends this nightmare for you. And I agree with everyone about the pirate look -- you really look awesome.

Here's to hoping that the paperwork snafu was part of some cosmic plan to make the timing of this surgery exactly right and this will be the miracle you've dreamed of for so long!

Thank you ALL for your warm wishes!!!!!!!!
UPDATE: Surgery went pretty well. Thank God I opted for General anesthesia because surgery was over 3 hours (vs. the 90 min my surgeon anticipated!). There was a ton of scar tissue on both lids (no surprise!), so it took a while. The pig donation part hasn't been rejected yet, so I'm all good. She found my lower eyelashes, so I'm thrilled!!
I'm staying in bed, just recovering but this surgery was a breeze compared to the January one! Hoping to heal quickly and move on and finish!!!!!!
Poor DH is wiped out today. He was worried because the surgery was 2x as long as he thought it would be and no one came out to tell him anything. He's taken care of me since yesterday.
My only concern is that my throat hurts and I think I bit my tongue HARD and it's all sore--strange!
Thank you all again!! I appreciate it. Ooh, and, YES, my pain factor is almost gone!!!! I'm just sore but no migraines or severe head pain. It truly is a miracle!!

Glad it went well for you! Your throat may be sore from the tube being down your throat.

Fantastic news! You should be back to normal soon! Although, you probably don’t remember the pre pain normal since it has been so many years. Will you have a glass eye, or whatever they are made of these days, put in at some point or is that a risky procedure in your case?
