We are headed to Disneyland in just a couple days -- we are going to Disneyland on Thursday and CA Adventures on Friday. Should we get a "max pass"? other than buying tickets what do we need to do to 'maximize' our experience? we already have lodging and I've made dinner reservations in the park. thank you!!!

Yay! So fun! We are going in 3 weeks and I can’t wait. We’ve never bought a max pass so maybe someone else can weigh in on that. I’ll be interested to know too. Although we usually go for 2.5 days and always have time to re-ride our favs. We maximize our time by getting fast passes and using the single riders line. The single riders line is great for rides like radiator springs, especially since the cars seat 3 in the front and 3 in the back - it seems I usually ride with one family member in the same car even if we’re in the single riders line. The other thing we do is do many rides during the evening parade and fireworks. Have so much fun . Paige.

Yes!! The max pass works really well and is super easy to purchase and add to you ticket. You need the Disneyland app on your phone.

Yes for sure! I’ll be trying for the first time on our next trip; I think it will cut down on time running to get fast passes.

We were there over Spring Break for one day. I highly recommend the max pass as we were able to do almost everything on our list because of the max pass. We probably could have hit one or two more rides, but we were too tired to close out the park. I put our teenager in charge of it as he is better/faster with his phone that either DH or me.

Keeping in mind that the max pass is $10 a day per ticket. I would probably use it for Disneyland and just fast pass CA adventure. Although I do believe that the photo pass comes along with the max pass. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Paint the night parade is back along with the pixar parade. Follow Disneyland daily on facebook, she breaks it down like I've never seen to almost the exact minute.

Yes photo pass comes with Max Pass. I think it’s 100% worth it. You can use it to pull your next fast pass as soon as you enter the ride line after redeeming a FP. You can even use it to schedule a FP while your back at your hotel taking a break or getting ready for dinner. It saves a ton of walking and time.
That being said if you have younger kids and won’t ride a lot of FP rides, it might not be worth it. Just one person in your group can get it each day for photo pass...which covers all the ride photos plus character meals or any the photographers take of you.

We went in November and didn't get the max pass. We were there for 4 days though, so plenty of time to do everything we wanted. We went Monday through Thursday. Monday was awesome! We went on every single ride in DL park. Just walked on every ride. We did a couple fast passes thinking it would get busy later in the day, but we didn't even need those. Tuesday we did CA Adv and it was the same. Walked on everything except Radiator Springs. It was closed for Maintenance until Thursday. So we fast passed it on Thursday. On wednesday and thursday the parks were packed! Over an hour wait for everything! We would have gotten Max pass if it had been like that the whole time. I would download the free Disneyland app regardless. It gives ride times for everything so if you are between fast pass/max pass times you can try and hit the rides with the shortest wait times. I agree that unless you really love parades ditch them and go on rides instead. Lines are much shorter when the parades and fireworks are going on. Also remember that if you close out the park, that if you are already in a line for a ride, you will get to ride it. You have to be in line though. They will close the line at exactly closing time. It's a great way to squeeze in one last ride. Main street stores stay open for like an hour after the rides close so you should have time to shop if you want to leave that til the end (if you do that. I hope you have a great time! I love Disney.

So if you have park hoppers you can max pass in both parks. We are pass holders and thought Max pass was totally worth it!

We were there earlier this month for 4 days. We got Max Pass each day for our family of 4 and also the 3 members of the family we vacationed with. Some of the best money spent during the trip.
It was such a time saver and we were able to ride so many rides. Our first day we were there we got in 16 rides! So easy to do it all from the app on your phone.

I just went in March and the Fastpass (using Maxpass) made everything better. No waiting on some rides and very short waits on others. Not all rides have single rider lines (Gaurdians of the Galaxy) so it was worth it having the passes. The Photo Pass is included in the Max Pass which was great. Just look for a park photographer and they will take your picture and you can download the photos with no addtional cost. Not bad for $10 a person. If you get MaxPass be sure to get the codes for any ride photos. Just snap a photo of the code to download later.
