This infuriates me. There's no excuse for these women to be asked to leave!

The video is worth watching, for anyone who hasn’t seen it. It is really extraordiary that someone called the police.

I understand that the woman from Yale who called the police has a history of doing so. Apparently she is known to be a racist.

It's interesting to read the comments from people rushing to defend when and why they'd call the police.
Olan posted the word "senselessly" in her OP. I mean, if you are being threatened, that's one thing. But if your idea of being "threatened" is not having three black women wave at you, seeing a black woman sleeping in a common room in a dorm, seeing black men sitting in a coffee shop, or seeing a black man move into his apartment, you might be a racist.

And, yet again... Being black while cooking out is apparently a crime. At least someone stood up to this person.

And, yet again... Being black while cooking out is apparently a crime. At least someone stood up to this person. I don't think that does any favors to the situation. While I think the woman calling the police was in the wrong the video woman got crazy over the business card. If someone doesn't see the problem with calling the police in the first place they won't see it with this video because they will just see that the videographer went wild. (Keep in mind that I quit watching after she started yelling to give back her business card.) I know these kind of things happen. I called a grocery store manager a few money's back when someone got after the black checker for being so "rude". I have never seen him be anything, but polite and he was polite that night though subdued when I came up to the register. The woman raced off to tell the manager. I had to get home quickly, but called as soon as I got home and told my side of the story.

Unfortunately, there is no shortage of news stories like this. I makes my heart sick . Other than calling out these stories, what else can we do?

As the other people described, her demeanor changed once a white person was in the picture. We have to stand up to other white people who are behaving like this. And, of course the white lady cried at the end saying she was being harassed. Um, what about the family just trying to have a BBQ!?

Unfreaking believable. I remember dorm life. If someone fell asleep in a common area, you just left them along to drool in their sleep. And I was in a very multi culture city in the 90s in Canada.
