Well, I'm going into lala land in a bit, but wanted to post the thread. Dinner is a drug cocktail😁. Dh and ds have soup, strew or Mac and cheese from which to choose.
What's on your menu?
Have an easy day and a truly happy week.

Good luck scrapmaven!! I'll be thinking of you. I am having sandwiches. Pita pockets with turkey, havarti, tomato, avocado, and avocado ranch dressing. My favorite sandwich. And I was at a party at my sis's house on Saturday. She made dad's famous chip dip. I didn't get enough at the party so I made a batch last night. It's not as good as dad's. But it scratched the itch. So I will have chips and dip tonight too!

scrapmaven - Thinking of you today, and hoping all goes well. Dinner here tonight will be BBQ ribs with potato salad and possibly a green salad. I wanted coleslaw, but there wasn't any at my supermarket - I hope they get it back this summer German 'krautsalat' is not the same thing! My older son called us yesterday, and DDiL is going in tomorrow morning for a second IVF transfer. Please send all the baby dust you can towards Australia, to help this little one stick and grow.

Sending good wishes and big hugs, scrapmaven. Our hike yesterday was disappointing. We drove nearly an hour to get to this wonderful place only to find out you need reservations to park on weekend. Next time we'll go during the week. We ended up doing some exploring and had a nice drive. Not sure what's for dinner ~ maybe sausage.

Best wishes for success and an easy recovery, scrapmaven. Baby dust most certainly headed Down Under, sueg. I don't know about tonight. Probably one of those Costco curry sauces with some already-cooked chicken from my freezer. But I keep cooking chicken, planning to make chicken spaghetti for my sister, and then we end up eating the chicken. Otherwise, maybe tamales (also from Costco) + Mexican rice.

Good luck and good healing vibes today scrapmavenjeremysgirl that pita pocket sounds yummy. I’m a sucker for anything with avocado and love havarti! A friend dropped of off a gallon bag of fresh caught(and cleaned) Grand Lake bass and crappie yesterday. So tonight it’s a fish fry!!! Going to have grilled corn, smashed rosemary garlic potatoes and some roasted brussel sprouts. Side note. I’m weird and I put honey on my home fried fish. I’ve done it since I was a kid.

We're having beef stroganoff, rice, and roasted vegetables. I read the dinner thread on the weekends, but don't bother posting because Saturday is always take-out and Sunday's dinner is lame. For example, dinner last night was funeral sandwiches, roasted red potatoes, and coleslaw. scrapmaven, I hope your surgery and recovery go well. jeremysgirl, your kitchen looks so bright and cheery! You did a fantastic job! Your magnetic poetry brought back memories of when we used to have a ton of tiles on the freezer door too. They're so much fun. hmm, maybe I need to put them back up. sueg, prayers and positive thoughts for your son and his wife.

Yummy wishes for success in everyone's meal today. As well, GIGANTIC, MONSTROUS, HUMONGUS, FANTABULOUS GOLDEN ARROWS TO OUR MIGHTY AND BRAVE LEADER. Please keep us informed, scrapmaven , as you are able to do so. In other words, send us an arrow back for our quivers. sueg - so much support going to the land of kangaroos with mama pouches. May your DDIL feel peace and calm as she goes through the procedure. Our closest young adult friends have gone through this. Much support flying on baby arrows down under. We ate jambalaya, ribs off the Green Egg, jalapeno poppers, and my blueberry crumble pie last night at our friends' lake home. They have been gone for 6 months, and like our own lucyg , ate chicken 5 times a week while gone. So, they fixed a meal for the ages - she went to LSU, cadoodlebug , and is a true Cajun gal in the kitchen. So tasty that culture's food! And thus, we have leftovers to chew on. Mighty spices on every single item. I am salivating just thinking and writing about it. Time to sharpen my pencils! Thank you for thinking of us and starting the thread. Aren't we all just somethin'??

sueg, prayers from me. PolarGreen12, I absolutely would trade you the fresh fish for my pita pocket! Trixie Bender, we have two sets of magnetic poetry. The happy one and the swear words one. It is not uncommon to read on my fridge something completely silly like, "your monkey is a rainbow asshole." We are just crass that way. LOL!

Hoping it is an easy procedure today, scrapmaven, with a quick recovery. Sending all sorts of positive fertility thoughts to your DS & DDIL, sueg. jeremysgirl, your kitchen looks fabulously happy, light & fresh! Love your Fiestaware on display. I had a no cooking weekend and have no idea what is in the fridge beyond carrots and there is bacon in the freezer. With cool temperatures and possible rain , how does roast carrots and bacon sound? Does that sound like a dish I can sell to my family?

We were supposed to have grilled kebabs last night, but it was pouring rain so we opted for pizza. We will have the kebabs tonight, with roasted potatoes, perhaps, or the remaining ear of corn and some broccoli cheese rice.

We are just crass that way. LOL! We have several sets, but I couldn't bring myself to ever get the swear words. I couldn't take the chance that my mom would stop by and see that I even know swear words. She'd wash my mouth out with soap. Again.

So many good thoughts and wishes today. Thinking of both scrapmaven and your family suegjeremysgirl, thanks for the photo share yesterday. I love the transformation of your kitchen. I also love your dinner idea for tonight. Hard to go wrong with those tasty parings. Meanwhile back at the ranch here in Georgia, it will be a hamburger (no bun) and a veggie for DH and a smoothie for me.

Well dd texted from school saying she wanted something “yummy” for dinner. Then proceeded to suggest pasta for her and eggplant parm for me. She’s out with bff getting a college T-shirt for him. Tomorrow is decision day and all seniors wear their school of choice T-shirt and there’s a picture. We found hers yesterday at Marshall’s. I did not have time for a 2 hour drive to her school. Not that I would have. Anyway I have the stuff to make Philly cheesesteak just in case. And salad too.

Healing thoughts and good wishes sent your way scrapmaven . We just got back from grocery shopping so we'll be feasting on some of what we bought. Crabcakes, tater tots, and roasted asparagus. May a cinnamon donut or two for dessert.

jeremysgirl, thanks for the photo share yesterday. I love the transformation of your kitchen. I wondered what everyone was referencing - I'll have to go check that out. I pop into these threads periodically and lurk, but I haven't posted on them in along time. I forgot what good inspiration it provides for what to fix. I made a cheesecake this afternoon that has now cooled and is ready for dessert. For dinner, I've made cubed steak in gravy, rice, and sauteed yellow squash with onions. All just good comfort food. My husband takes leftovers for work, so I try to make things he can make a 'to-go' plate with to take the next day.

And since I'm putting my order in I like my tater tots extra crispy!

We went to Paula's Diner (aka MIL's house) for dinner. Stuffed capsicum, cauliflower macaroni pasta bake, roast potatoes, tuna casserole, beef bourguignon pie.
We also had an antipasto platter for entree and berry cinnamon rolls for dessert.
