Trump has always been an unethical person and is carrying this over into his presidency. No surprise there. Our country elected a bad leader. Fine, I can accept that. What I can't accept is that Republicans in power are doing nothing about it. That the republican people who "didn't vote for him" are repeating that ad nauseum as a defense but not condemning his actions. Not speaking out against these actions shows acceptance. You may not have voted for him, but your silence on these matters absolutely implies support.

Kyle Griffin...
“Trump has nominated Mitch McConnell and Elaine Chao’s brother-in-law to lead the federal agency that pays worker pensions.
The White House did not provide biographical info about him or answer questions about his relationship to Chao and McConnell.”
Another example of #MAGA or maybe “draining the swamp” or maybe “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours”?

MSNBC.....
“CIA Director-nominee Gina Haspel asserted for the first time publicly that the CIA's program of brutal interrogations was a mistake that "ultimately did damage to our officers and our standing in the world."
You think? But here’s the real question. How do we, the country, know that because you supported “brutal interrogations” in the past, as CIA Director you won’t once again support “brutal interrogations” in the future?

The Hill... “US blocks UN from adopting resolution to investigate violence after Jerusalem embassy opening hill.cm/4EC9RTK” If this was all the protestors fault ,as old Jared said yesterday, why is the US blocking an investigation by the UN? I would think they would want proof to back up old Jared’s comments. But...but...but....Benghazi!

Knock yourself out. Speak up and give him and his administration your best defense. I’m not going to be silent about the mess this monster and his merry band of imbeciles are making, and I doubt I’ll stop being angry anytime soon.

I particularly love the "you're making us vote for him!" argument. That's an abuser's argument - "look what you made me do!" If you can't argue your support for him on the merits, but instead have to fall back on blaming others for "making" you support him, you maybe need to re-think your position. This is particularly ironic coming from people who claim to be "silenced" and "persecuted" in the public sphere. We're now being told to stop pointing out the illegal, unethical and generally crappy things Trump does - actually being told to sit down and shut up, even though we're speaking truth - under threat of these poor, silenced, persecuted conservatives voting for him again just to spite us.

North Korea warns US it could pull out of planned summit with TrumpBY BRETT SAMUELS - 05/15/18 03:04 PM EDT North Korea on Tuesday said a planned summit next month between President Trump and Kim Jung Un is at risk because of joint military exercises between the U.S. and South Korea. North Korea said it was ending talks with South Korea, and a confusing statement from the country's state news agency strongly suggested that the drills threatened the fate of the historic summit. ** More at link: thehill.com/policy/international/387800-north-korea-threatens-to-cancel-meeting-with-trump-report

Merge here ya o....... Farenthold says he won't repay $84K sexual harassment settlementBY JOHN BOWDEN - 05/15/18 02:39 PM EDT Former Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-Texas) says he does not intend to pay back $84,000 in taxpayer dollars used to settle a sexual harassment case against him, despite pledging to do so last year. The former congressman told ABC News on Tuesday that he has been advised by his legal counsel not to pay back the money used to settle the lawsuit, which became public last year and led to Farenthold's resignation. “I will say this on the record: I have been advised by my attorneys not to repay that,” Farenthold told ABC News. “That’s why it hasn’t been repaid.” Farenthold had previously told an NBC affiliate in Corpus Christi, Texas, in December that he would repay the money "this week," saying he would likely hand a check to Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) personally. ** The House Ethics Committee, led by Reps. Susan Brooks (R-Ind.) and Ted Deutch (D-Fla.), released a statement in April calling on Farenthold to follow through on his pledge to repay the $84,000 settlement. "We note Representative Farenthold publicly promised to reimburse the U.S. Treasury for $84,000 in funds paid to settle the lawsuit brought against him for claims of sexual harassment, gender discrimination, and retaliation," the statement read. "We encourage him in the strongest possible terms to uphold that promise."
