We don't have to take sides with our "bestie" even if they're wrong. Only a fool votes party before all else. (And that's how we end up with Trump as a president... a bunch of stubborn people who can't bring themselves to vote for anything but an R.) I do find that the person I vote for more often is Democrat, about 2/3 of the time vs. 1/3. |

To the OP: I am an Independent, although I will probably register as Republican before the next election. In my state, anyone can vote in the Democratic primaries, but only registered Republicans can vote in theirs. I was trying to be true to what I was (independent), but if I have to play the game, I will. I can no longer trust people to be smart, and I want a say in who my choices are.

Is this an anonymous poll? I have not registered with a party and voted for an independent in the general election. Not even because I necessarily supported them but I was trying to open a path for increased third party invovlement next election.

I am and always have been non-affiliated. I vote for the candidate who is most closely aligned with my views - sometimes that is a democrat, sometimes that is a republican, sometimes it is a 3rd party candidate. I am FIRMLY against party line voting - I think that's what has lead to our country being as divided and polarised as it is today.
