I took three photos today. Which is what I was aiming for. I am currently trying to decide what the best way to print 3x8 photos out. I thought I had a template to put two side by side and have a 6x8 (that my Walmart will print) but I cannot find it. Ugh.

If you're using Photoshop or a free alternative like GIMP, you should be able to cut your photo down to 3:8 ratio. Then create a new blank image to 6x8 ratio size (check your photo lab's minimum recommended pixel size to get a decent print) and drag + drop that 3x8 photo in there. Drag it to one side, repeat with another image and done. No need for an actual template. Things get a little trickier if you want a white frame around it or a multiple image template though.

I ended up with about 20 photos but I won’t use them all. I’m happy with the quality of photos I took though.
Right now I’m trying to figure out how to record my work day without photos (can’t take photos at work for confidentiality reasons). I think I may just type up an insert or a 3x8 page.

Thank you!!!❤️ No white border needed - I have about a million templates with white borders but none with the photo edge to edge!

I ended up with 70 photos and a bunch of notes for yesterday. Most of the photos aren't that great, so I'll probably cull them down to about 10 to 12. Overall, I'm happy with Day 1 of WiTL. The best part about Monday was that it was a start -- for the rest of the week, I'll take the rest of the photos that I want for this album.

I took about 20 photos yesterday, but I'm so happy because my husband took photos all day long - he probably took 50. My son even took some at school.
I've never done a WITL project before, so we are all excited to do this. So far it's been really fun. Now I just have to come up with some interesting things to photograph other than: morning coffee, leave for work, lunch, etc.

I have about 15 photos for Monday. I am focusing more on journaling, so I was able to do a few Day One app entries and jot some notes on the daily sheets and in my bullet journal. That is my issue tho, sometimes I have things in too many places! And I really want to only feature 3-5 photos a day, so hopefully I can narrow it down.
Trying not to think about what the outcome will be and just document.
I do love the introspection part of this week, tho it takes some time to commit to recording it.

Are there any print companies out there that offer a 6x8? In the past I made my own by printing a 6x8 photo on a 8x10, but I'd rather avoid that extra work and cost if possible.

Persnickety Prints does. How did everyone do today? I ended up with goodness knows how many photos. Traffic on the highway and every day type things. It was a beautiful day here and two of my coworkers took me out for a goodbye lunch on a rooftop. Just lovely photos and lots of fun. I forgot to take photos after lunch but I think I'll have plenty for the day.

These will be culled, too, of course. I took notes on what I did, too, so I'll have a lot to journal later. I've still not found my groove in this, after two days. I want to document more in depth, and document things that will be relevant years down the road. I'm going to keep trying.

I took 50-odd photos on Monday. Tuesday - 30. Today - 127! But that's because I've been playing with my new camera. I'm procrastinating and writing this when I should be sifting through them all. Loving this project so far. There's been a few things I've been really pleased have been recorded. Have managed to blog every night before bed so I'm keeping on top of journaling too, which is nice. amp I know what you mean. I find it really hard to go deeper than just 'this and that happened', but I really believe that even the basics will be relevant and of interest in a few years.

I’m struggling a tiny bit. I am still keeping up but I only keep about 9 pics from the day. I’m not in love with them. I try to take at least one photo in the morning, one at work, a couple when we get home and one at bedtime. I’m just not investing the time to get photos I really like. I felt the same way last year but enjoyed the finished project. I have typed up 2 days of notes so that at least good. I’m too tired today so I will attempt to type today’s during meetings tomorrow.

I'm really not doing WitL. I don't have a format I wanted to do for it this year - no page-per-day journal like I used last year, and I'm not interested in doing layouts or pocket pages right now. I might cobble together something in the back of my diary but it won't really be a WitL the way it's meant to be. (I actually keep a daily diary of what I did every day, and have for years, so much of the mundanity of life is recorded in some fashion).
But anyway, I have done WitL at least once a year for the past 4 or 5 years, so this week I'm going to go look over what I documented back then. I'm making some notes on some of the things I know are different this year from last. We don't have a dog any more, but now I leave peanuts out for the local crows and scrub jays every morning. I've changed my eating habits and have a different morning routine. We like different TV shows, and we're sitting on new furniture to watch them. It's not earth shattering stuff. But it's interesting, and I'm happy to document it somehow.
Just a thought for anyone worrying that they're not doing the project properly, or not recording important stuff. It's all better than nothing.

When I did my first WITL I had maybe 3 pictures a day. I think that you're fine!!! Even if you had one picture the documenting is what's important. And even that can be one sentence (or heck even less). Today had an unexpected twist; I took photos of ny commute which I thought would be cool since I can take three different ways to get to work. Depending on my mood and traffic. Little did I know this was going to be my last commute to Brooklyn. Friday is my last day but I'm taking vacation up until my exit interview. So my journaling is going to end up being a little different. Overall I probably have 20 pictures total for today.

Or if you drank coffee outside on Tuesday but the photo was from Wed. Make it work for you.

The Day One app is such a great app! My husband started using it about 5 years ago, and every year when he writes in it (he writes something every day, even if it's just a sentence) it brings up what he wrote on the same date the previous years. It has been super helpful in noticing some health trends, like he gets certain health issues arise at the exact same time every year - leading us to realize he has seasonal allergies that manifest in not-typical ways (so now he takes a daily allergy pill and it's helped greatly!). It's so cool, we would never have made the connection without him using the app. Also the ability to add photos, which you couldn't do at first, is great, too. I use it, too, but have one entry every 6 months or so - I'm so bad at keeping up with stuff! SaveSave

Yes, I like how it is a not-so-fussy app and just basic. I probably do 15-20 entries a year. But it has helped with these type of projects and photo-a-day sharing too. Periodically I try to remember to export the pdf to email just for backup purposes. I've even printed them out to include in scrapbooks.

Yesterday was kind of a dud. I didn't go anywhere, so all of my photos (maybe 10 total) were alternatively of food or my couch. I'll make up for it today.
I read Ali's blog posts about the first three days, and her journaling is pretty extensive. Now I have to get on it!!

I’ve taken a lot of pictures and used the details sheets to take notes. Mon & Tues. I did the hourly thing, Wed I used the “ing” prompt & and yesterday the gratitude prompt to change it up. Definitely starting to run out of steam. Trying to think of a different prompt/approach to get thru these last few days.

How did everyone do yesterday? I have a ton of photos but my biggest accomplishment was putting together my album and deciding how I want to lay it out. I'm going to print one 6x8 photo for each day as the biggest story, then the other photos for the day will either be 4x6 or 3x4 (which I just discovered Persnikety does). I'm glad I have a plan, which will help me execute things better later.
