I’m on vacation. I’m visiting my DD who just finished her last study abroad semester of undergrad. We did 2 eventful days in Florence so many things to do- so crowded!! We are worn out!
She asked what I wanted to do today and I’m like- I’m on vacation we can just chill! I don’t need schedules on vacation! The relief on her face was a wonderful thing.
See there’s plenty of things to see here - no matter how hard I try I will NOT get to see them all anyway. I’d just like to spend time with my Daughter who I haven’t seen since January.

Shoe inserts and personalized orthotics. Can’t see them but they make a world of difference. My feet thank me every night!
Great thread!

The beeping noise my car makes when I reverse. Makes parking so much easier.
That and having A/C in my car. My first car didn't have A/C (over 20 years ago) and I don't know how I survived!

The timer on my new Keurig is awesome. It turns on at 6 am so I can make my coffee, then I turn it off, saving energy.

We moved in October. We lived in our previous house for twenty years. It was old, tiny, on a loud busy road and didn't have central air. We should have put it in but never did.
I now enjoy living in a very quiet subdivision (with some woods behind us) and so enjoy sleeping without road noise. I also love having a basement, attached garage, and central air. And like you an ice maker. I feel like I'm living in luxury. Our house is just a standard 1565 sq, foot house but to me it's heaven.

So what's your "little thing" today? A working washer & dryer. Going to a laundromat sucks. So does line-hanging (in a basement!) clothes to dry and hoping they are dry in time, and feeling their crunchy yuckiness. Also, a Mr. Coffee machine. I can't face the day without a cup of coffee.

Music controls on my steering wheel and a rear view camera when I back up. Both have made me a safer driver. Heated seats for my back pain and excellent dual control air conditioning to help me counteract the heat from the seats make me a happier driver. I do like my back up camera on my van. But the music controls on the back of the steering wheel, I have never gotten used to. I usually listen to CDs in the car and I often find myself mistakenly skipping songs and messing with the volume. Makes me crazy!

My first car had only AM radio. And the only channel it ever seemed to be able to tune in was the one with Rush Limbaugh's show! haha...I miss that Chevette. We called it the silver bullet.

heated steering wheels - best thing ever Never knew they existed. Guess because we don't need them here. But it sounds really practical in cold areas. I was just thinking that something to make the steering wheel nice and cold would be great for my South Carolina summers.

Don't like that song? Skip! Her voice grates on my nerves? Skip! And the pause feature and ability to repeat? Heaven! But, I do mistakingly hit the controls on the right side of the steering wheel, changing the center screen of my dashboard and it is a PITA. I don't need all that extra stuff, just tell me my direction, the speed limit and occasionally the name of the road and I'm good. So I feel ya!

‘Butt coolers” in my car. It’s the Southern version of a butt warmer! 😀 They are wonderful in the summer when you have leather seats. I also love my back up camera. I wish I’d had 30 years ago. There is a long line of damaged bumpers in my past. Never knew they existed. Guess because we don't need them here. But it sounds really practical in cold areas. I live in Houston and use mine all the time. I have arthritis and It feels so good when my arthritis flairs up. My DH has the butt coolers in his truck. They are so nice here in the summer when you are hot and sweaty!

a box of 144 prewound bobbins Wait this is a thing? I'm making my mom a purse for mothers day, and while my sewing skills are basic at best the bobbin is driving me insane. I'm so off to Amazon. As for the heated steering wheel: My co-worker recently had to replace her car. She's VERY pregnant and just wanted to replace her Altima with another solid, but basic one. They ended up getting one with cloth heated seats and a heated steering wheel. She pooh poohed the bells and whistles at first, but told me the other day she's in love with it and that it would be a struggle to go back.

Y'all have me convinced that I need a steering wheel warmer in my next car I always buy used, and my current car has several "gadgets" I wouldn't have chosen if I was buying new. One of which is heated seats. I never knew what I was missing until I got a car with them. Heavenly!

Having someone do my lawn for me. It's so nice to come home to fresh cut grass that I didn't have to cut.

The way Apple packages their products. It's all just so...simple. And elegant. What is it about removing the protective wrapping? I just set up my new iMac. It took about 10 minutes. It was so easy and so much fun. Little things like that make me happy.

True story I discovered something the other day and thought, “it’s the little things.” It mad eme happy. But I couldn’t remember what it was!
I’m working in a graphic design program, I guess. Making a brochure. And I found out I could s-t-r-e-t-c-h the text. It made me happy, was exactly what I needed, and I want to do it on all the stuff.

Mine is maybe not so little. I have a personal assistant for 8-12 hours a week (2 or 3 afternoons.) She is a friend I've known for over 30 years, but this is what she does as a business, and it is awesome and worth every penny. (And not as much $ as I expected.) I have health issues that mean I can't drive, or do much else, and previously could go 3 weeks without leaving the house. She takes me to dr appts (after reminding me to make them... i have huge memory issues) or to Target or just driving around, getting me out. At home, she does my laundry and makes the bed, makes sure I eat well and have plans to eat well until she gets back. She has been helping me go through boxes from my move from my house, to a condo, to a couple of rooms at my father-in-law's. We also got my scrapbooks in order and she will be helping me get the pictures of pages digitized. But sometimes, we just sit and talk, and that's a big thing for me, too. Having her as my PA helps my parents and dh not worry about me so much, and they all work together for times like when I am hospitalized. I wish we had hired her a year ago, but I was in quite a bit of denial, plus was waiting for those people who said "Call me when you need me" to actually be available. So now there is no stress there, either.

Not only does my car have seat warmers/coolers in the front, it also has seat warmers in the second row of seats. DD keeps wondering where those were when she was growing up! Oh to be 30 and already bemoaning what technology has now that you missed out on in your childhood!

And I found out I could s-t-r-e-t-c-h the text. jenjie, that's actually called Tracking, From the web: In typography, letter-spacing, also called tracking, refers to the amount of space between a group of letters to affect density in a line or block of text. Letter-spacing can be confused with kerning. Letter-spacing refers to the overall spacing of a word or block of text affecting its overall density and texture. and all this time I thought it was Kearning. What program are you using? I'm happy to help if you get stuck. Unless you're using paint, then I can only offer condolences.
