My sister is a Florida resident. We are talking about hitting Universal studios before a November trip. The web site says the Park tickets must be picked up in person with each person present and presenting their Florida ID.
Does anyone know how closely that is checked? Has anyone picked up their Park tickets without all persons being present? Is a resident is able to purchase tickets, at their rate, for their guest?

People on the DIS universal forum would know. There is a small, but mighty universal contingency over there that are very active and could quickly and easily answer your question. Might also check Undercover tourist to compare prices.

I can't answer a resident question, but when we went to Volcano Bay and picked up our tickets at the window, they looked at the id. They also wanted the credit card used to purchase it, which we didn't have, but they let us get them.

You could get away woth ot for kids under 16, but in my experience they check that pretty closely.

No experience with Florida, but SoCal resident tickets are closely checked to make sure anyone using them has ID with an eligible zip code.

My experience has been that they check ID to ensure florida residency.

I have ordered for myself, SO & kids. They check everyone who has an ID. Even asked my 17yo for ID. Since she doesn't drive she rarely carries it but luckily she had it on her that day.

I think they really check. I would let sis purchase the FL resident ticket, and I’d look at TicketsAtWork, if your workplace participates, and other sites like AAA, Undercover Tourist, and MouseSavers. When comparing prices, pretend you are buying and get a total - some sites include taxes and others don’t.
Universal is my happy place, for the record.

Local resident.. and yes they check. All adults will be asked for id. All of the local parks are the same. There are a lot of Florida resident special discounts around local attractions but they make you prove it for each adult now.
