My home owners and auto insurance is due and I'm shopping around. I got a quote from Progressive and the auto is about the same as I'm currently paying, however, the home owners is about 1/2 of what I currently pay. Coverage is very similar to what I have now, but has a deductible that is split, such as $1,000 for everything but hail. The hail damage is a $5,000 deductible. Would that hail deductible change a policy by $950? I just couldn't believe the difference in price. For those of you that have Progressive Insurance, any pros or cons you can share with me? TIA!

I have had Progressive for my auto and motorcycle for years and years. I've had the homeowners insurance only for the 5 years I've lived here and have never had to make a claim, so I'm not sure if they're comparable to the great experiences I've had with auto. They contract out to a different company.

We don't have Progressive insurance, but I have to give props to their customer service. My husband was in an accident with a Progressive policyholder a couple of months ago and their claims people were absolutely awesome. We've never had such a great experience with someone else's insurance! They were respectful and very, very quick at getting the claim settled. I can only imagine that if they treat non-policy holders that way, they must treat their own customers very well.

I worked at a body shop for years and loved working with Progressive. They have very good customer service and go out of their way to take care of the cars. We would have progressive but GEICO came in cheaper.

We’ve had progressive auto insurance for years and no issues. We’ve had a couple random claims here and there, no problem. Unfortunately we can’t get home owners insurance with them, i believe it’s because our house is so old (over 100 years).
