I’ve been getting photos together for my ds’s graduation next month. I have been digging for old school photos, looking through my iCloud, etc. The only ones I couldn’t find that I would have liked to have were his kindergarten school photos. They were not with the others for some reason.
Dd has had a couple notable school things recently (a writing contest and having some of her artwork displayed in the district office) and coming across those pictures while looking for ones for ds had me actually start a separate folder on my computer for ones I might want for her. I’m ahead of the game! By six years lol, but the important thing is that I am planning ahead.

Smart! I need pics for dd’s graduation. We have a bunch of photo floppies from when she was little. But after a particular time, we went mostly digital. And my tower gave up the ghost not long ago. I hope we didn’t lose all those photos! Dh kept our previous tower as a backup but I’m not sure how to get into it.
HOWEVER!! I remembered we backed up all our photos about 10 years ago onto CD rom. Thankfully I found them, so all is not lost.

I kept my son's senior book up-to-date as the year progressed. It was the 50 page beach vacation album that I HAD to finish for graduation. I had six weeks and made two of them. The second one was for his girlfriend (also for graduation).

I’m in the middle of one for my niece! Instead of scanning each photo and then having to upload them, get a photo scanner app. So much easier! It does drain your battery while using it, but it’s nice because you it saves you a step. Then you just email the batch of photos and it’s on your computer.
When making these, do people prefer chronological order or random photos? I started with baby and then moved on but some photos are hard to tell the age.

I have my photos backed up on two separate external hard drives, CDs and DVDs, and the ones I’ve printed are also backed up on my Costco Photos account.

I’m trying to get ahead of the game now already (DD is just finishing 2nd grade). I have her school photos on scrapbook pages and keep them together in one album along with pics from school based events like field trips, field days, walk-a-thons etc. Hopefully when she graduates I’ll be able to just put out that one album and/or scan the pages and put them on a video loop to play on our TV.

It just made sense for my brain. But I had dates on 95% of my envelopes. They were just from a film camera. I scanned the photos on the highest dpi I could, then went in and changed the date from the scanned date to the date the photo was taken. I also added info like where the photo was taken and who else was in the photo. It probably took 5 min a photo. Forever, but it’s done now!

I didn’t know that myself until DH’s computer guy told me a couple years ago. After that I made sure they were also backed up in other ways.

I have a lot that aren't scanned in just printed. Thanks!

I can't believe I still have to do this. My weekend went by too quickly and my son graduates in two weeks. I spent the whole weekend looking for a giant box of pictures I had of him and I didn't find it anywhere. I've got to find some energy and get this done. I'm super frustrated because I need one thing from the fabric store and I was right by it today and forgotabout it because I was so sad about my giant boobs
