Any problems? We have to get ours replaced-the crack is too big for a repair.

I have and would NEVER use them again! They ruined my weather stripping and caused leaks. In fact when I brought my car in for an oil change at my mechanic recently, they took one look at my windshield and said "You used Safelite didn't you? Don't ever use them, they hire inexperienced young guys."

We refuse to refer any clients in our insurance office to Safelite. Clients who have gone to them on their own decision have always had complaints. We have a regional glass company and a couple small, locally owned shops that do a nice job, have the same lifetime warranty and take great care of our clients. All of our business gets referred in their direction.

Wow I didn't know that. We have had our windshield cracked due to a stone a couple of times in the past few years.
It was repaired by Safelite, not replaced so I didn't know about the replacement issue.
Our insurance company referred us to them. Maybe they use another company for replacement. Ours was minor. One was a crack that kept growing during the day until we could get someone to fix it. (we were on vacation of course). The other looked like a BB hit it. Both times it was repaired by them fine.

We used them once for replacement (several times for repair, Dh was traveling for work for awhile, cracked windshields were a common occurrence at one point ), no issues. The last time we used someone else simply because they were cheaper by a rather substantial amount.

Wow, mixed reviews! lol. I might just get a quote from a body shop first and go from there. I have to drive an hour to get to a safelite shop anyway.

Yes, numerous times and they are fantastic. The one time I had an issue, they came back out and replaced the windshield again. I love that they come to where you are. Very handy when you are at work!

So: I had them come to do my husband' struck window. Well now I ended up having to take off the visit and the lights and the jerk wanted me to take of the roll bar?? WTF. We had had no problems with the windshield. The truck doesn't run anymore but we have no problem with the windshield.
We decided to have him fix our little car. There was one patch of rust above the window. And he would not install the shield. The patch of rust sanded right off. My son did it in his parking lot and he still would not fix it. We replaced it ourselves. At a quarter of the price. It is not a hard thing to do.

They replaced a windshield for me last month. Had some rust, he sanded it out and put on the new windshield. Sounds like someone has a Safelight with crap employees. Happens with lots of national chains.

I've had to replace both front and back glass. They did a great job both times. No problems. This was back in 2013 and 2015 and I still have that car and it's doing great.

When we needed a windshield, calling around for quotes, they were almost double the price compared to other local shops in my area. I was talking with someone on Friday that said they were fighting with them over a leak. They put a patch on it, and it still leaks. They don't want to take the windshield out and reset it and see if that helps. I would think if you bought a windshield from them, they would guarantee that it didn't leak.

I did and they did a great job. Even told me some stuff about my car I didn't know.
I'm guessing that it is entirely dependent on the experience of the person changing the windshield. My woman did great!

We've used them for windshield replacement. Never had an issue. We just had them replace our windshield in April. Very professional and they fixed it in my driveway as I worked from home. No issues with it at all.

My cars are like rock magnets and I’ve replaced probably 5 windshields (thank goodness for glass coverage), I always used Safelite and only had one issue. There was a plastic strip that goes over the wiper and it wasn’t aligned right so the wiper blade clicked. I brought it back and they fixed it for me.

I just got a huge crack in my windshield and called my State Farm agent. The last time that I had to replace my windshield they sent me to a different company and this time she asked if I had someplace specific I wanted to go to. I said no and she said they would have safelite call to schedule an appointment. Hoping we have no issues with the employees at our local safelite place.

We haven't used them, but DH just made a few comparison calls before having his windshield replaced and they were the most expensive. A couple of hundred more than what we ended up paying a local shop.
