LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!!! Definitely worth the money. I've regretted a lot of purchases in my life, but never the Traeger. No matter what I've cooked on it, it's been fantastic!!

Our DS has one. He cooks with it all year, even in the snow. The things he makes are delicious.
So, my vote is they are totally worth it.

Absolutely worth it!
It’s one of our very favorite ways to cook pizza, too!

I’ll be following this thread! We were just looking at one last weekend because our grill at the lake is falling apart and we’ll need to replace it with something fairly soon. We use our grill almost every weekend and want the next one to hold up better than the last one did.

I see that it takes wood pellets. Is it more of a smoker or is it just a grill that runs on wood pellets rather than charcoal or gas?

My dad and brothers have Traegers (or at least something exactly like a Traeger) and I really enjoy whatever they cook on them--especially a whole chicken. I would love to get one, but DH doesn't want to spend the money.

YES! We totally love ours. We bought it at Costco. After a year, we had an issue with our first one. They took it back, and we go a brand new one. The second one had worked perfectly.

I do like mine, but it has not been trouble free for me. I have replaced so many parts on it. I feel like they are no longer a quality product like they once were, but still have that price tag. I have been able to get the parts I needed and I fixed it myself - but it has not been just one issue. My entire control panel fried last year. I replaced it with an 'after market' part - not a Treagar one. That seems to have fixed all my issues that I had been having.
I also feel like it just feels "cheaply made". I roll mine out of the garage to use it and it can tip over so easy. The wheels are cheap. My Weber gas grill, on the other hand, feels solid and good. Not like it is going to fall over every time I move it.
For the price - they need to get back to the quality.
Watch for sale prices on the pellets. You do need to use the Treager pellets with it. Store them in a very dry place.

Something to consider - if you use as smoker it does create smoke! If you live in an urban area or where houses are close your neighbors may not appreciate. Or if someone in your family has respiratory issues.

We have a non-Traeger pellet grill and have been very happy with it. At the time we bought it, my DH sat there in the store and did a side by side comparison between the Pit Boss (the one we bought) and the Traeger. DH determined there was very little difference besides the cost. Since he was still new to bbq, we decided to get the cheaper one and if he got serious we would come back and get the Traeger. Three years later and he is still happy with the Pitt Boss and don't feel the need to get an actual Traeger. And he has cooked a lot on that grill, I swear last year it was weekly parties with ribs and/or pork butt during the summer.
Traeger brand pellets actually aren't that great from what I hear. Lots of filler wood, I think? My DH orders all hardwood pellets from Amazon and that makes a huge difference.

We have the Cabellas brand. We went back and forth on which to get and decided on Cabellas because it was a little less expensive and the warranty was better. We love everything we cook on it. We did our Christmas Prime Rib on it this last year and it was delicious! Pizza is amazing on it! Enjoy!

We got one several years ago. WE LOVE IT! We got rid of our gas grill and just have the Traeger.
Cooking on it is different than a regular gas/charcoal grill. You can't open it all the time or you will loose heat and cooking will take a long, long time.
Food on it is AMAZING though!

Have had it for one year. Love it. Have the insulated blanket for winter time. The gas BBQ is going to the curb this weekend. Have not used it since we got the Traeger
